Love this but there should always be shot clocks
This format is probably modeled to appeal to league players. They have no shot clock. They want to feel like and mimic pros. Now they can. Not every tournament needs to exactly the same. I’m all for standardization. But this is a whole new format, so it’s an opportune time for it to have its own rules as well.

I think a shot clock is over rated and it's impacts on making this sport TV friendly is over blown.
Snooker is broadcast globally, has a massive viewership , has matches played out over multi-day sessions, and not a shot clock in sight...shot clocks are adding false drama and pacing and the lack of it isn't why pool is not doing well on TV
Personally I think some of the reasons pool has generally failed to grab viewership are production quality, marketing, diminished prize pools, etc
That said - this particular casting is a example of how to do it properly so my last comment is not necessarily about the video - just generally about the game's general positioning in the market

So even Chris now has changed from a Revo to a normal wood shaft which was a huge surprised as he was doing well with a CF shaft previously. But most Pros that have used CF have changed back to wood it seems.
🙂 You two guys commentating are good. You don't act superior like you are lecturing people. You don't use all kinds of technical jargon. For sure, some commentators really get off on thinking what brilliant experts they are. They talk right over the play. It's amazing how they are so self-absorbed. 😉

Simple rule; unless you paid for the table, don't whack your cue into it when something goes wrong.
After tournaments tables and balls are sometimes auctioned off to fans. I bet an Albin fan would love to buy a table that was scratched by him. Then the owner will have a story and proof of it in the form of this video.
Btw I’m not there yet but I’m guessing it’s Albin who hits the table lol. I would bet on it.

I strongly prefer the removal of the shot-clock. Nineball is at its best a combination strategic thinking and explosive action. To add the clock is a stupid gimmick.
Couldn't agree more! Shot clocks are there just to create artificial tension.
People keep saying it speeds the game up and makes better TV but snooker doesn't have it and it definitely isn't lacking in excitement...

@@billenright2788 Yeah I saw...I still think it's not needed. this game in particular wasn't that long but to each their own.
In my opinion, pool is also a mental game and a shot clock makes it that you shoot first and kind of think later...almost no need to control your emotions cause you don't have time to have any. The lack of a shot clock alone accounted for a bunch of the mistakes by both players because they got in their own heads...

Probably not part of bubble for long enough, personal choice as a covid precaution, requirement for all refs at event, could have health factors that puts him at higher personal risk, etc, etc

Are people unhappy with the Revo cues? I like my Cuetec Cynergy just fine.
@@TheJurgisRud I’m sure melling must’ve been or why else would he switch to the Z? I find the synergy better than the revo myself but still not better than traditional maple.
@@scottbacci8933 I can't really disagree with you. I also can't say that my Cynergy is better than the OB+ Classic that it replaced.
