PLEASE READ BEFORE COMMENTING: Ok so at 13:19I did a bit of a dumb here. Basically I was saying how Riley becoming a meat wouldn't make sense because we don't see any meats with no eyes for her to inhabit, however the meat that she is is in the back wall, which wouldn't be visible to the camera in the show. What I SHOULD have said is that in Amanda 1, we only see meats on the left side, despite the fact that in the Meatman ending we can clearly see the wall is full of them. So what I say here still works! I just used the wrong thing as proof. Last time I made a comment in post like this (BanBan video), I still got a horde of comments about the minor mistake anyways AFTER having explaining in a pinned comment (and also the point in question not changing that much about the theory??), despite the fact you can see right next to the comment button BEFORE posting, so hopefully with the "PLEASE READ" people will see this before they comment? Comments are good for the algorithm, though, so it's not a massive dealbreaker if they comment about the mistake without reading, just annoys me when I don't get "real" counterarguments/discussion! I like seeing your guys' thoughts and additions!!! Especially with the cat video recently!! It's epic!!!! And poggers!!!!! And is sucks when it's just repeating something I've already touched on, instead of adding something new! Sorry for the long post, TLDR; In the Meatman ending we're on the backwall and thus can't be seen, but technically my points still right because there's MORE meats on the wall during the meatman ending than in Amanda 1's butcher shop walls from BEFORE that ending despite the fact they should be visible.
Here's my Theory about the Possum: It was never meant to be in the Cartoon in the first place, it was never a character scripted to appear but someone who managed to slip into these tapes and became the Possum, the reason why i think that is because Amanda's and Wooly's initial reaction to them is just questioning. Amanda in Goodnight tape: "How did you get in here? *Who even are you?* Go away! " Wooly in Let's Play Bandits tape: "Seriously who is that guy?" For a comparison with Dora the Explorer, Dora and Boots atleast know Swiper's name, meanwhile Amanda and Wooly doesn't.
(Spoiler Warning)I feel like the Possum is Joanne's little bother,Jordan.My theory is that when Joanne said little,she meant like baby still trying to talk,which is why the Possum is messing with everything,Jordan's immature,I mean babies do like to touch everything.Maybe Joanne was trying to teach Jordan to say her name but never finished teaching,which is why the Possum was screaming "Jo-Joh-Jo" in the final tape.Also Jordan could've been the first person who Hameln was trying to force into the tapes as the MC,but was scraped due to his imature nature/being a baby.What hurts even more is Amanda and Wooly killed the Possum in the final tape...who's gonna tell Joanne?
To be honest to me the possum could have 3 identitys- 1 (most likely) jordan 2. Joanne taking account of this theory 3. Kate herself. Kate being the possum makes sense too, like Joanne she’d have the same motivations that were purposed in the video, she’d recognize Katie’s current voice, and she’s already dead. (Also I don’t think I understood the Amanda time theory fully)
@ Like I understand the people showing up in the tapes that come after the one they’re first trapped in and the each tape has chronological order, but I don’t get how someone can show up in the tapes before they die/ get their soul trapped
I think its either jordan or Kate but its most likely jordan because of how the possum acts they act like a young child would to annoy their older sibling
The tape theory is a good theory, but I think the tapes are in order because the tape titled let’s start the day Amanda ask you what’s your favorite thing for breakfast if you put pie then Amanda says “aw is that because we made one together before” and in good night, when Amanda asked you, what are you afraid of? If you put trap, she says. “ I know a silly mr. Fox that’s afraid of that too.”
maybe it's because some tapes go before and some go after, so maybe the pie episode was after wooly's death instead of before like we watched? either way, i like all interpretations of the game, and you make a good point
In the true ending, a new creature based on Wooly shows up, and according to the games captions, growling, *snapping and tearing* sounds can be heard from the other side of the door. It is all but certain that this is the Wooly demon killing Joanne. If Joanne is dead, then there would be no reason to place her in the tapes, where she might be able to disrupt things. Also, placing Joanne, a fully grown adult, in the show wouldn't match its usual M.O. of only targeting children. And what reason would the Amanda demon have to not just leave Joanne for dead in the normal ending instead of placing her in the same tapes that she's actively *trying to destroy*? Aman-demon is only prevented from killing us by Amanda, and that only happens once you tell her the right story to feel better. She didn't like Joanne before... she would let it kill her off EASILY, especially once she realizes that Joanne has broken a tape. In addition, the Possum's actions don't quite add up if it's meant to be Joanne. Like, why does it only react to Joanne's voice? Obviously, Riley doesn't have voice lines, but looking at the show Amanda the Adventurer is based off of (Dora the Explorer), it would seem to imply that Riley is physically saying their answers. I mean, the TV setups ingame aren't exactly coming with keyboards attached. But if the Possum is meant to be Joanne from AFTER either of the endings, they SHOULD recognize Riley's voice as well. Finally, if Jordan ISN'T the possum, that raises the question of where and what is he? We know he is one of the missing children, so he was sucked into the tapes. We also know that he couldn't be Amanda or Wooly, since those characters were around since the start. But with no prominent characters left, that would mean that he doesn't actually make an appearance in this game, which seems like a waste of character development for someone we have barely even been acquainted with. Honestly you do have some good points, especially with Amanda potentially remembering when you die, and trying to find an order to the tapes. I just don't know if I agree with the conclusion of Joanne being the Possum. Overall you do seem to be a pretty good theorist tho so keep theorizing :)
As someone with no proof or reasoning٫ I feel like Jordan is the dead fox٫ Since he and Joanne are related. And since Amanda KNOWS how much of a living hell the tapes are٫ she might see it as a fair punishment for Joanne . (i am amazed by the dedication and care for the plot in your essay)

Nice theory, but the wooly section doesn't make sense. Wooly being gone wasn't only in the demos, it was in the actual game too. He was gone for the first two tapes, Amanda is just as secretive about it as she was in the demo, and when he comes back Amanda shows a genuine shock and anger at his presence. You claim this as evidence of Amanda Time and say the tapes of ATA2 take place before the tapes of ATA1, so Amanda hasn't killed Wooly yet. But that doesn't make sense. Amanda is gleeful about Wooly's absence at the start of ATA2 **because** she had already killed him in ATA1. She was so enraged by his return cause she thought she had already gotten rid of him and was upset that he somehow came back. Yes, the teasers suggested that Wooly would be gone longer than he actually was, but to suggest that we were shown this sequence at of order and Amanda killing him in the doctor's office comes after Wooly's return doesn't make sense. The timeline for this part seems pretty linear. The theory would be stronger is you removed this part since it works against the idea that Joanne is the possum: If Joanna got sucked into the We Can Fix It tape, and the tapes of ATA2 are sequentially before the tapes of ATA1, why does the possum not appear in any of the ATA1 tapes? And how does Amanda remember our name in ATA2 when we technically didn't tell her yet (in the nightlight tape, if we get the nightlight to her in time, Amanda says "goodnight, Riley."

Since Amanda 2, and the reveal that those kidnapped can get turned into the animals, AND SOME OF THEM CAN HA A SENSE OF AWARENESS I've been thinking a lot about the Kitty and especially Mister Fox! Assuming that Amanda knows in some way the fact that the Fox was a Mister, and was killed by a bear trap, could it be someone from the company? We have seen recordings of someone working on the inside, could they have been got? Trapped? Killed?do did Joanne die or just get sent in the tapes? If you die in the tapes, do you die in real life? But most importantly: if your body stop functioning outside, dose the soul trap keep going? Or still have a connection with the body and die? - Amanda can feel her Body even when she is stuck in the tapes - the company keeps the children attached to machines to keep them "alive", since we have seen there are other rooms of hospitals beds. Dang, I'm late to the video and all of these points could have already been thought out and debunked, but it was nice getting it out! in the end, the question stays: _what about Mister Fox?_
Perhaps there is a possibility that the cat and her kittens that killed that bird are also some of the missing kids. The bird is also one of the missing kids. So, missing kid unalived another kid, but because they are cartoon characters, they always come back.

It's right before 14:59 but here's where I paused with the thought sorry if you go over it in the video lol but for your argument as to why Joanne didn't warn us earlier could have to do with what you've already said about the show timeline aspect, Joanne may think we're watching the tapes after she's gone, "continuing our duty" and it's not until the tape that Joanne talks while the tape is still playing for her to hear herself and realize her fate hasn't happened yet, just wanted to get this down bc gotta check but Joanne may have scenes where she talks with the possum present will update if I find out before anyone else
Good theory but I can definitely see some problems with this 1. If we did get meated in Amanda 1, then we wouldntbeb in Amanda 2 due to us being stuck in the tape. 2. If the possum is really future Joanne, wouldn't that cause a paradox?
I think the possum is Jordan, Joann's kidnapped brother, because it was attracted to her in the last tape when it heard her voice, and it has the same eyes as all of the moving objects in the game, meaning it is also a kidnapped kid.

Yeah… the time theory doesn’t make sense Amanda is mad at Wooly because she kills him in the first game, it doesn’t make sense to Wooly to disappear and then appear and Amanda getting mad at him for then kill him again, because why would Wooly disappear in the first place if it wasn’t for Amanda? Besides, is makes not sense for her to be in the show because she needs to have that egg-like machine AND she also needs a surgery that HAMELN has. How she would be able to have a future self is she is in a hospital bed rotting? Even worse, is she was kidnapped by Amanda how is she able to have a future self if all the children that disappeared don’t let any trace? Yeah so i understand this is crazy cause if the possum said that.. the possum might be joannes child that was kidnapped and became it.. like amanda or the other girl! But the possums maybe the son of joanne or joannes pet cause the thing is that it faked being dead joanne actually is maybe the possum or not cause its like the aman-demon cause the aman-demon kills us if we do it wrong... Honestly I think that Amanda remembering when you die kind of makes sense in a weird way due to how the endings work in this series especially in Amanda 1 where you die and then come back and then you take the information that you learned from the previous ending in this new one. It's a strange thing to be honest.
I want Wooly to be another kid like Amanda, just one that was stuck shorter than Amanda... cause he has his Wooly-monster thing too, like Amanda, But Amanda might have been there longer than Wooly which causes her to get slowly more and more annoyed of Wooly. then sense Wooly is a main character, or at least a important side character, he comes back

5:01 that doesn't make sense because she blames the viewer for not stopping the opossum even it is the cause. And the opossum knows this happens multiple times and still keeps causing trouble. In fact, it knows that it's working against you because whenever you stop it, it gives you a really guilty look each time before scrambling away.
I think that when someone is absorbed they just can appear in episodes made after they got absorbed, not that we can see people from the future in the tapes (there's more meat in the meat man ending because more people got trapped) But this theory can work if creators are setting up something like she was in the tapes but she was causing so much trouble that hamlen let her out and erased her memory (or she is hiding it from us) that's why she reacts to her own voice and we can see her because these are tapes made before she was freed and yes i read the coment

I think the possum is Joan’s brother, in the last tape the possum lunges at the screen to try and escape because they and hear Joan’s voice, as for the reason they are here, I believe that Joan almost summoned him to the tapes. Think about it, in the second game what changes? The location, because of Joan, why are we doing these things? Because of Joan, everything that changes is because of Joan, so why wouldn’t the possum be there because of Joan, because they herd Joan’s voice in other parts, the breaking things could be it trying to find how to get out, in the getting ready tape they pop in, that is the moment when there summoned. This is just how I see it but I think it’s pretty cool. Of corse all theorys are correct until proven wrong, so share your thoughts!

It'd be like a part 2 where you figure out if he's alive with stuff like the box, the stuff he hit and the water treatment area and to figure out where else he could have possibly went, like with chapter 3 or something. And predict whether or not he will be in the fourth chapter. Because I when insane back. Y'all heard of the stands from Jojo's Bizarre Adventure? Yes IK IK. My point is more so I think it's not out of the question for Hamlin to want some way to very directly impact the Amanda dimension(s), and thus having some kind of being with in that word they can control from a small distance, like a JJBA stand, would be something very useful. Joanne is an ex-Hamlin employee, so it makes sense that if such a thing exists(which is admitedly a big if) then she would have one.

And what reason would the Amanda demon have to not just leave Joanne for dead in the normal ending instead of placing her in the same tapes that she's actively *trying to destroy*? Aman-demon is only prevented from killing us by Amanda, and that only happens once you tell her the right story to feel better. She didn't like Joanne before... she would let it kill her off EASILY, especially once she realizes that Joanne has broken a tape.
In addition, the Possum's actions don't quite add up if it's meant to be Joanne. Like, why does it only react to Joanne's voice? Obviously, Riley doesn't have voice lines, but looking at the show Amanda the Adventurer is based off of (Dora the Explorer), it would seem to imply that Riley is physically saying their answers. I mean, the TV setups ingame aren't exactly coming with keyboards attached. But if the Possum is meant to be Joanne from AFTER either of the endings, they SHOULD recognize Riley's voice as well.
Finally, if Jordan ISN'T the possum, that raises the question of where and what is he? We know he is one of the missing children, so he was sucked into the tapes. We also know that he couldn't be Amanda or Wooly, since those characters were around since the start. But with no prominent characters left, that would mean that he doesn't actually make an appearance in this game, which seems like a waste of character development for someone we have barely even been acquainted with.
Honestly you do have some good points, especially with Amanda potentially remembering when you die, and trying to find an order to the tapes. I just don't know if I agree with the conclusion of Joanne being the Possum. Overall you do seem to be a pretty good theorist tho so keep theorizing :)

Nice theory, but the wooly section doesn't make sense. Wooly being gone wasn't only in the demos, it was in the actual game too. He was gone for the first two tapes, Amanda is just as secretive about it as she was in the demo, and when he comes back Amanda shows a genuine shock and anger at his presence. You claim this as evidence of Amanda Time and say the tapes of ATA2 take place before the tapes of ATA1, so Amanda hasn't killed Wooly yet. But that doesn't make sense. Amanda is gleeful about Wooly's absence at the start of ATA2 **because** she had already killed him in ATA1. She was so enraged by his return cause she thought she had already gotten rid of him and was upset that he somehow came back. Yes, the teasers suggested that Wooly would be gone longer than he actually was, but to suggest that we were shown this sequence at of order and Amanda killing him in the doctor's office comes after Wooly's return doesn't make sense. The timeline for this part seems pretty linear.
The theory would be stronger is you removed this part since it works against the idea that Joanne is the possum: If Joanna got sucked into the We Can Fix It tape, and the tapes of ATA2 are sequentially before the tapes of ATA1, why does the possum not appear in any of the ATA1 tapes? And how does Amanda remember our name in ATA2 when we technically didn't tell her yet (in the nightlight tape, if we get the nightlight to her in time, Amanda says "goodnight, Riley."

But this theory can work if creators are setting up something like she was in the tapes but she was causing so much trouble that hamlen let her out and erased her memory (or she is hiding it from us) that's why she reacts to her own voice and we can see her because these are tapes made before she was freed

I think the possum is Joan’s brother, in the last tape the possum lunges at the screen to try and escape because they and hear Joan’s voice, as for the reason they are here, I believe that Joan almost summoned him to the tapes. Think about it, in the second game what changes? The location, because of Joan, why are we doing these things? Because of Joan, everything that changes is because of Joan, so why wouldn’t the possum be there because of Joan, because they herd Joan’s voice in other parts, the breaking things could be it trying to find how to get out, in the getting ready tape they pop in, that is the moment when there summoned. at first hamlen tried using the tapes as phalacterys
a magical item that keeps the souls of people inside them turning the person into a lich like form dnd to i dont khow learn immortality but then they summoned a demon by leaving the body souless so they started plannig to use the demons as weapons

so if joan for example lost a bit of her soul like and that bit was put into a tape it would explain how joan is alice and yet in the tapes
bcs a very well khown lich did the same thing VOLDEMORT by basic rules of magical entitys voldemort counts as a lich and yet he put a bit of his soul into the horcruces ergo the phalacterys and yet voldemort is alive with only a fraction of his soul

My point is more so I think it's not out of the question for Hamlin to want some way to very directly impact the Amanda dimension(s), and thus having some kind of being with in that word they can control from a small distance, like a JJBA stand, would be something very useful.
