This song was written by George about a short-lived love triangle where he was in love with a man while a female friend was in love with him, but none knew of the others' feelings: "She was in love with me because she couldn't get me, and I was in love with him because I couldn't get him George said. Sometimes you hear a song like this one but you really don't pay much attention to it. But when you hear it a few more times it gets to yah. The music goes in different directions. You hear George soft voice singing but you hear different instruments playing in the background. Some strings other are brass. But he brings the sounds altogether and it blends beautifully. I hear another masterpiece that was created but all that hard work and didn't get much recognition for it. God will bless him for his efforts that he has done and he will reward him for it. All music comes from the Creator anyway. Satan just gets in some music and distorts it.
ONE of the many reasons he was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame... From FAITH, to FREEDOM '90, to his other amazing tunes - this man was a mastermind about music and sound. He wrote all this stuff - just shocking. And he was so young when he did it. The greats always do. Seriously, what a MASTERPIECE this is...
Seen Wham at Whitley Bay ice rink in 1984...George sat on the edge of the stage and sang Last Christmas acoustically...Never forget it...Unparalleled voice...
it’s not really jazz is it. the song is in waltz time to symbolise the dance between two people in keeping with the theme of the song. the saxophone provides the romantic feel. it’s probably my fave gm song just because of its haunting melancholy feel. very underappreciated song.
A very special masterpeace, in all honesty and my opinion his most true and objective message and masterpeace he gave us, based upon his struggles and the way the world/ sociëty relates with people having different feelings, emotions therefore treated like outcast. If you are one of those intolerant human beïngs, this song must be very confronting and will be like a mirror showing your true colours. Fot those of us that are tolerant and open minded this feels like a masterpeace which it realy is.
...It is now the Autumn of '24...Does a Hummingbird return for more Nectar?..."I am certain of nothing except the holiness of the Heart's affection...And the truth of the Imagination..."(Keats)...Blessings to you...Wherever you might be...
He was an angel from GOD of music with a heavenly voice who gifted billions of us on earth and continues to do so for future generations. For me personally, no human has ever composed and sung better than him, ever. 33 years later after I first heard this divine song, I'm still in awe of his voice and music composition. It is perfection in the sound of his voice, every word, and every musical note from the beginning to the end! Only heaven can sound like this. Thank you, George, May Your Soul Rest in Eternal Peace in Paradise...❤🙏
7 years gone and he is sorely missed. What a great human being he was. But we are lucky we have so many beautiful reference points to remember him by. This song is one of them. Piano, voice, lyrics, melody, sax - all working together in harmony. His ability to interject jazz in the pop world was quite something. Genius.

Ale się je.....ął w brzuch
Kult matji boskie,j bo przecież do niej mówi. Jak ksiądz. Shame? Poznasz innego. Nie wiń się siostro.
A ta rana blizna na twej twarzy na pięknej twarzy. Ranił cię wcześniej? Tak? Jak często? Nigdy? Szkoda.
So full of beauty and pathos - George was one of the best and most soulful of ballad writers (Careless Whisper, Kissing a Fool, Jesus to a Child etc.)
One of the best songs in the years of my life...….great memories...1991...youth and hope
Sentiments exactly my friend
Youth and hope! Summarized it all!
Me too Patrick, he was a one off genius but like everyone else he was flawed and unfortunately it finished him. RIP George.
YES 👍
Yes, agree.
Ridiculously perfect.
Masterpiece!!!
Still have this album I bought it the day it was released all those years ago
Without doubt a genius
ONE of the many reasons he was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame... From FAITH, to FREEDOM '90, to his other amazing tunes - this man was a mastermind about music and sound. He wrote all this stuff - just shocking. And he was so young when he did it. The greats always do. Seriously, what a MASTERPIECE this is...
Another British genius gift to the world.
The best VOICE in the music history. Thank You George Michael ❤ beautiful song❤
Seen Wham at Whitley Bay ice rink in 1984...George sat on the edge of the stage and sang Last Christmas acoustically...Never forget it...Unparalleled voice...
I miss this man, his love song, his music and of course him, bless you George.
George Michael was pure class..
I love how this song's genre is JAZZ! My favorite George Michael song. It is a masterpiece.
it’s not really jazz is it.
the song is in waltz time to symbolise the dance between two people in keeping with the theme of the song.
the saxophone provides the romantic feel.
it’s probably my fave gm song just because of its haunting melancholy feel. very underappreciated song.
You’re spot on,it is a masterpiece.
I practically wore this cassette out on my Walkman as a Marine during the Persian Gulf War.
wow.
Love 💕 you
Tx ...
I can understand that; I'm doing that SAME THING RIGHT NOW!
stryker569 Glad you returned home safely🙏George forever💜God bless u both xx
That saxophone!!!!! That song!!! That whole album!!!!! Masterpiece
МАЙКЛ, если3 ты слышишь, ты лучший!!!💔
A very special masterpeace, in all honesty and my opinion his most true and objective message and masterpeace he gave us, based upon his struggles and the way the world/ sociëty relates with people having different feelings, emotions therefore treated like outcast. If you are one of those intolerant human beïngs, this song must be very confronting and will be like a mirror showing your true colours. Fot those of us that are tolerant and open minded this feels like a masterpeace which it realy is.
COWBOYS AND ANGELS IS HIS BEST I just LOVE it AND ROMANTIC SONG I relate to even today, BEAUTIFUL
Who is coming back to this timeless masterpiece in 2022?
Six days before my 70th birthday, July 13th.
...It is now the Autumn of '24...Does a Hummingbird return for more Nectar?..."I am certain of nothing except the holiness of the Heart's affection...And the truth of the Imagination..."(Keats)...Blessings to you...Wherever you might be...
@@jamescasey8065 thank you blessings to you too
He was an angel from GOD of music with a heavenly voice who gifted billions of us on earth and continues to do so for future generations.
Beautifully wrote X 🤗♥️
😭😭😭😭
Lui era un vero artista. Un talento incredibile. Ci manchi.
Loved him.
This is like a perfect gift. I had forgotten about this song entirely, and it is pure magic. . . .
This is the greatest song of all time
MAGNIFIQUE CETTE MELODIE.QUEL REGAL.MERCI GEORGE.JE T EMBRASSE❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤.
I MISS HIM..I CRUSH ON HIM HARD...HE WAS SEXY HANDSOME AND HIS VOICE ATTACHED ITSELF TO YOUR SOUL...HUGS GEORGE...
the delicious saxophone break near the end is what makes this record so.....so perfect.
Meloooo
yeah sting was awesome at that point in his solo career
Quite agree. Perfection to the last.
Yes the sax piece is so perfect...same as on song where did your heart go...
Iove the saxophone ❣
Still here in ‘24 HBD George 💜
Criminally underrated 😭
George my brother, you left us with such an empty space to fill.So lush was your musical journey.
This was his most beautiful and unrated song without a doubt.
As for me george michael is the best singer all the time .
This never ages. It’s like a fine wine. Perfect.
7 years gone and he is sorely missed. What a great human being he was. But we are lucky we have so many beautiful reference points to remember him by. This song is one of them. Piano, voice, lyrics, melody, sax - all working together in harmony. His ability to interject jazz in the pop world was quite something. Genius.
Dont forget the bass......its crucial to this song.
Just beautiful... regards from the peninsula Samaná, Dominican Republic....one of the greatest, George Michael!!
What a hauntingly gorgeous song, probably the only George Michael song to make me cry. One of the best songs I have ever heard.
,Absolutely...
Right before I read your comment I was already crying
Deep lyrics
Ahhh, me too, I weep...
“Hauntingly gorgeous” good way to describe it! This song puts me in a trance
I had almost forgotten how much I want to slow dance to this song with my SO. Even if the song contains warnings that it may not last. What an artist you were George.
I will never get tired of his music
It's Indefatigable. It causes incredibly deep emotions.
This album takes you to a place that words cant describe such deep feelings whenever I listen to his music.
