The close up shot of popping the quarter into the car wash machine was a really nice piece of videography. It was very aesthetically pleasing.
Roman's garage looks like a fire station.
These are awesome! Had one on our JK and now one for our JL. We keep it on year round.
Just installed this on my 2012 2 door Rubicon. Wish I bought it years ago! One my first drive with it I opened and closed it four times. Total time taken under 1 minute. If this was the freedom panels, it takes about 10 minutes each time including struggling with the protective sleeve bag, and then I have no luggage space. This is so much better and so much more fun!
From a practical standpoint, if I get caught in a rainstorm I can close it up in under 20 seconds. Try doing that with the freedom panels!
I was skeptical about the back of the soft top thinking water would leak a lot. Great testing.
This is one of those products I’m really mad that I didn’t come up with. It’s so simple so obvious and effective
Hey Roman, nice house! I hope all is well with the business, and keep up the great content!
Must have for the hard top. I use mine all the time. Wouldn’t be open nearly as much with the Freedom tops.
Nice house Roman! Glad to see the hard work paying off.
Just bought a JL and was wondering about the soft top and going through a car wash. Great video!
Hard to take off? Don’t know how to strap the freedom top to the back Jeep seat?
Maybe a Jeep is not for you!! 🤣
How easy/possible is it to remove the entire Jeep hardtop once this sunrider is installed? I mean, are you basically giving up on going totally topless with a sunrider because it is harder to remove than the freedom panels?
I have the factory premium soft top made by Bestop. It's my favorite option and it's a significant cost savings vs the freedom tops on a new Jeep. Top is up or down in less time than it would take to remove a single front freedom top.
I’m so happy I stumbled on this video. I was honestly frustrated with the panels and I have a 2 door model keeping the panels inside with more limited space. Totally buying one of these!
The sleeve should hook to the back of the back seat. It does take a bit of your rear view but you still have most of your space.
i didn’t know this existed! we rented a jeep a few months ago and it was disappointing how we couldn’t easily remove and store the panels. especially with all our stuff in the trunk.
this is a game changer for me... I'm patiently waiting for the Bronco but if its not what i was hoping for a 2dr wrangler with a best top mod is very tempting.
Cool video on the new top... Hope it helps..looks like easy installation..🏁🏁🏁🙂
Looks like the convenient way to get some sun. It simply has to be a little more noisy (40mph is not a real test) due to it being fabric and having a step between the soft-top and hard top above the driver's head (espc at the corners).
I usually like these guys. In the time it took them to take off the panels my wife and I (her Wrangler) have them pulled, placed in the protective bag, which stands upright attached to the back seat. This is a fine product by the way, I know people who have it an they really like it.
Bestop's Sunrider has always been my favourite top for Jeeps, but I much prefer the 2 door version.
@@EricCantin I mean the softop. I often forget that they made a hardtop version for the 2 door models.
This is essential equipment for the hard top. I've got one for my JL as well as my JK. However, the JK has one big advantage. It has a sunscreen that extends like a blind. It shades a bit in the heat of the day. Bestop needs to get on it and get the shade out for the JL. They've promised it, but it still is nowhere to be seen on the horizon. Let's go, Bestop! Finish this thing off!
Even better for the 2 door jeep hard tops, where interior space is even more limited
TONY BUCCOLO just strap the freedom top panels to the back of the seat, problem solved
I've always been so tempted to buy this. But I just bought a Gladiator with the freedom tops and I have this bed in the back now with plenty of space for the freedom panels. I can have them off and put back on again in about 2 minutes. So at least for me, it's not worth spending the $700 to save 2 minutes. Great video thought.
Good commercial! When I buy a Jeep I will buy this!
Fantastic. That’s what I need.
Have this for my wife’s JKU and we LOVE it. She has mobility issues and if she didn’t have this, would always drive with the top closed. Ours gets flipped open / closed at stop signs. Only complaint is it’s getting noisy after 1 year of use. Time to freshen up some gaskets.
@@subtitledEN some gaskets are foam and wear out. Ours is also an earlier model, so they might have revised some parts.
We like it so much, might get one for my JKU if I don’t reinstall the full soft top next season.
That is awesome! I love it and need one of those for my JL
And it only costs as much as a full soft top , what a deal .
I got mine off Facebook marketplace for 200. Would hate to pay full price
Between your house, Saabkyle04, and Doug DeMuro’s house are the best looking houses for regular car reviewers
Nice house and neighborhood.
Fantastic product
they need to come up with something that prevents getting that thing covered with insect gunk :D
@The Insufferable Tool Correct. It isn't bad. Besides, it is a Jeep. You'll get enough dust and dirt in there that the rare bug that hits it won't matter. I was on a very muddy trail and had to close it because mud was flying up and hitting it, as well as coming down and hitting me in the head. The good news was that I was able to flip it closed quickly.
Nice top, nice jeep, nice house. I'm jealous!
Roman is completely unbiased, lol. If you think removing the "freedom tops" is too arduous to deal with just sell your Jeep and answer the call from the Mini-Van Club.
If you use the panels bag correctly it solves most of the issues. I would place the bag on the hood, put in one panel, then flip it over to other side and put in the other panel. The bag then stands vertically behind the back seat, and clips to the headrest mounts. Not really hard to do. The big advantage to the Bestop IMHO is you can just flip the roof open for a short drive, then flip it closed again to secure the jeep while parked. Probably worth the $ just for that feature.
Try reinstalling the panels when a quick downpour hits. No comparison. You are right about the quick flip for a quick drive. Where it really shines is on a trip. When going to Moab, for example, my Jeep is full of gear, so there is noplace to put the freedom panels. These things are worth their weight in gold on a trip like that. The mountains are so much more enjoyable with this little top open.
That’s awesome! I live on the Great Lakes in the snow belt...I’d imagine it’s easy to convert back to hard tops for the winter, right? I could see putting it on & taking it off seasonally.
Please test whether there is a difference in noise levels between the factory top and the new one
Jacob Moses I have the JKU version and there is no audible difference and the noise meter actually had the level about a half dB lower then the freedom panels at times. Varied speeds (surface roads; 25-35 and some 2-3 lane 45 mph streets and interstate/highway; 75+ mph).
How loud is it in the folded position? I like this top but only see it useful if you don't ever plan on taking the back half of the roof off
Heard theres issues of leaking in the long run on the forums. Can we get a few updates about it?
Oh cool, another 10 minute Bestop commercial.
One of the best upgrades I've made to my Wrangler 4xe. Highly recommend.
Love Jeeps
Looks nice
Nice. Good job
I think it is sort of funny where they use Allen Keys to put bolts in and tighten them instead of a Milwaukee battery tool to make it a quicker installation
Thank you so much. Good information. I think I am sold. I'm going to get a Jeep next year and will purchase this option. One question......what about water drenching the driver as they exit the vehicle after a rain storm? I've seen this issue come up a couple of times on-line. Have you had this issue? Now, if I could only get PURPLE! Thanks, again!! 🚙🚙 Avon Lady Jane...
So what if you wanted to take all the tops off? Does that part come all the way off without uninstalling?
$800 is A LOT OF CASH FOR THAT!
Please review the MyTop
So, sunroof idea from a Mini convertible, or VW EOS 🤔?
I like.
I'm assuming this is a sponsored video.. You should disclose that up front, not a last second "thanks for making this video possible" right at the end.. so we know it's not an "un-biased" video. Freedom panels are not that big a pain (I have them)
We need a model x tug of war vs all the trucks you can get to finally settle the cybertruck power fiasco
Neat product, but would be interested in a non-biased review from someone who didn't get one shipped to them FOR FREE from Bestop.
Ok. I can do that. It is great, does everything Roman said, and works perfectly with no leaks. It can be flipped open or shut in seconds at a stoplight. It fits perfectly and looks great, too. It only needs the sunshade like the JK version has, and it will be complete.
With all the snow out
Nice home with a view.
amazing
I see Tommy in the window looking
OK well made top, but if you have a light bar above your windshield as I do don't bother! The turbulence created by the light bar is deafening! So loud at 75 MPH you can't even hear yourself think! So its either the light bar or the Bestop.
One thing that really chapped my rear; “Removable Hard Top” DOES NOT EQUAL “Convertible” y’all. Let’s call a “spade” a “spade” guys.
If you want a convertible, you get a convertible SOFT TOP. If you want/need a hard top, that’s fine. Understand that it is not a “convertible.” Just a more difficult to convert Jeep.
Does anyone know if this is water resistant? Wondering how it holds up in heavy rains.
👑
Let's put a sail on the car and turn our Jeep into a wind catcher. This will be great for our fuel economy.
Would have been a lot easier if you assembled the top to the rails and then attach to the Jeep. Sometimes you need to think outside the box.
Are you able to remove the rear hard top section while the Sunrider is on, and leave the sunrider section on and just open it as well? Thanks
It's not REMOTELY difficult to take out the panels ~ BS representation. Storage of the panels are a HUGE problem, even when using the bag provided and strapping it to the back of the seats (really poorly designed), you lose a TON of storage in the back and if the tops are anything but pristine, the bag will hold the dirt and they will get scuffed at the very least.
Totally right, remove the panels specially the new ones from the JL is really easy... storage properly is the real problem! Since I have 2 doors less space. Mopar should have designed a good Sunrider. Jeep should have the option to buy it weather front panels or Sunrider!
It isn't hard, but they are a pain in the ass to store. This thing is a HUGE improvement and it actually makes less wind noise than the panels do in my JL.
What about leaks at the real point. I come from the state of Florida it rains almost every day do I have to worry about leaks?
Any update on how the 2.0L is doing reliability wise since the issues before?
Well, looks like some effort.
You have made this same video at least 6 times now
Is this possible in a 2 door??
Nathan just robbed a bank
I don’t get it. If you want the soft top take off the hard top completely for summer use soft top. In winter put hard top on and your all set.
If only there was an option to get a soft top from the factory instead of paying extra for the hard top
I like the ease of use but hate the look of the bunches up roof when it’s folded back.
Trim edges do not match with the two sides. 15% restock fee if you want to send it back. Be careful before you buy.
Unfortunately My house is 16000 kilometres away Steve 🇦🇺
A solution to something that’s not a problem. It looks dumb now with 2/3 hard top and 1/3 soft. And the new freedom top with all latches is way easier then the old one with the screws in the back
Shii leaks!
i like reviews where the youtuber paid for the product this is a commercial
Will the wayalife CB bar be in the way with this product
ill stick to the old way. persona preference
anyone knows if it fits in a 2024 sahara?
Well, "Truly Topless" would be if you just took the hardtop off. Of course you're in CO, so maybe you do want a hardtop for the winter. For me - living in CA, I sold the hardtop that came with my Jeep (I got a dual top option on a used Jeep where the soft top was still inside blocking the entire trunk - the original owner never bothered to take the soft top out) and I just use the soft top. The next top I'll get is the Bestop NX without zippers because to be honest those zippers are a pain and they fail quickly.
I've been in snow with the soft top and somehow the car doesn't feel colder than with a hard top - maybe a little if it's really windy as none of those tops are really tight - not even the hard top. They usually all leak. But then I tend to avoid snow and rather go south when it's cold up north. If I ever get to old for a soft top or driving completely topless I'll sell the Jeep and get something old people drive - like a Tesla or a Corvette - LOL.
hy sir ineed soft top how much
You may want to watch what's in your video, you can see your address. I would think you wouldn't want people seeing that.
True, but it's easy enough to find elsewhere. They (apparently) try to keep the location of the TFL office/studio secret also...but it's still easily located. Same for mountain trails they test vehicles on -- big secrets. Don't know WHY the secrecy though, as I think all their subscribers LIKE them, so what's up with that? ;-)

Not a convertible, that makes an easy "sunroof".
How does it work with heat and cold ?
How would it handle the snow? I live in a cold climate and I don't want to freeze.
I live in central Canada with a soft top. Don't be a wimp that's why you have a heater.
jest a ad for best top I like my best top but come on
Trying hard to make taking the freedom top hard to remove. It isn't.
Remove the panels of the JL’s is even easier than the JK’s...now,storage them nicely in the bag to avoid getting damage. Then you have to decide to keep the big bag in your Jeep or leave it home. That’s the hassle!
Can we get a discount code? :)
Run it through a car wash!!!
So expensive
Would have rather seen an actual install video, then watch y'all ride around talking about it.
His house. Weird flex but 👌
Cool product. Thanks for the review fellas. 👍🏻
