Noskova has a great game yet wildly inconsistent. Easily should have a title this season. In order to win against Iga - if they meet again - she has to exercise her mentality by winning against others consistently. Her fitness needs work too, reminds me of Sabalenka and Petra in their early days. I would like to see her go further very entertaining to watch.

It’s actually not hard to beat Iga. All you really need to do is attack her serve but also hold serve. That’s the biggest issue with WTA right now. No one can hardly hold serve anymore so even if they break Iga they get broken right back. They also try and hit her off the court and very few players are consistent enough to do it that way. Best way is attack the serve and finish the point before Iga gets in rhythm

@@phantomtroupe8430 if it is not hard to beat Iga everyone who picked up a raquet would be a pro tennis player and multi slam champion. just cuz her weaknesses are easy to spot doesnt mean it is easy to exploit

@@deusexmachina9776 it is actually. WTA has been declining since 2018 but it’s been especially terrible post Covid. ATP also but especially WTA. I’m not sure why but serving has become less important for players. Back in the late 2000’s between 2006-2016 everyone had a better serve than their forehand or backhand. It was like the most important weapon. Now we see sooo many breaks of serve in tennis it’s almost ridiculous. I’m not sure what’s going on with the serve becoming less important to players and they just want to win by out hitting their opponents. That is why Iga gets broken and then breaks right back. She doesn’t drop a set sometimes not because she’s returning so good but because her opponents aren’t holding serve under pressure. Look at Milos. He just came back and showed ATP how to serve properly. Osaka kinda doing the same but she’s too overweight to last in 3 but her serve is looking like Serena’s and her second serve is still huge

@@phantomtroupe8430 you said 'under pressure' so it is more about pressure than the actual serve. Iga's toss is awful when under pressure. everyone's shots gets worse when the pressure multiplies even their forhands and backhands.

Linda is really a resourceful tennis player. She had a debut from the last season but she has a huge upswing during 2024 season. Noskova is totally a young Czech tennis player who evolves in a rapid way. As long as she delivers a robust and impactful performance, we will always watch herself at the apogee. In other words, the young generation of Czechia makes a large difference in accordance with the other nations. It indicates that Czechia will be more pervasive in the future.

Angie is a 3 time grand slam champ and they were all at different majors no less. She’s always very fit, very consistent and she wanted to come back because she loves the sport so much. She still has the potential to win and create upsets. She’s great on grass so let’s see how her draw is.

Neither will win (not that I would have anything against one or the other winning). Angie is definitely well past her prime and while Linda has very much potential she is hardly any grass court-wonder and I think this was only her 3rd victory or so on that surface.
