The dot in .Paak’s name is for his attention to detail in the process of creating music, we include the dot to respect his dedication to his craft. Great reaction to this song, I’ve LOVED DOMi and JD BECK’s album “NOT TiGHT” and this single “Take a Chance”! The chorus melody after Andy’s smooth rap verses is one of my favorite melodies this year, easy. It’s so pretty and takes advantage of the whole understated vibe you astutely pointed out. There’s skill in being able to show off in restraint, not just playing crazy for the sake of showmanship. They exemplified that here, and their musicianship is definitely something special. Having Anderson .Paak to not only sign you, but also doing his thing on your record is like the best cheat code for noteworthy artists in their own right! DOMi and JD BECK deserve all the success for their authenticity, and seeing it happen is really inspiring! 😭

Not to mention that .Paak is rapping effortlessly in 7/4 time in the verses of this song - something I've never heard anyone else do
Beautiful song. AP has a video announcing the establishment of the label. Hilarious. Also, he is from Oxnard-and named one of his albums after the city. Check it out. Recommend specifically Tints, Saint James, or Anywhere, which is a clever tribute to classic R&B that I think you would appreciate. .Paak is so versatile! And Domi and JD Lang are phenomenal talents, no doubt.
Your critique and breakdown is why I keep coming back to your channel. When I see and hear this type of music is gives me hope. So inspiring in the mist of all the sample music we have to hear these days.

It’s really kind of surprising to me that those reactor’s knowledgeable in jazz aren’t more actively exploring these two’s music. Or maybe there just aren’t a lot of jazz reactors.

The 'o' in Dominique doesn't exactly line up with 'o' in Mommy _or_ Show Me, it's a slightly different shape in the mouth. (In French it's actually close to English 'Dummy'! - but not exactly...)
