For some reason the A & U in Glickenhaus was swapped on 2 graphics. To be honest I have no idea how that happened, considering I have put the word Glickenhaus on multiple videos and never had issues😅 But anyway, hope you all enjoyed the video!
I will openly weep if Glickenhaus leaves. They are unbelievably cool as a small producer with absolutely beautiful non hybrid traditional prototype racecars, and also finishing in the top ten at Le Mans every time they enter. I love them so
They are truly a treasure. But they've always wanted to compete in IMSA their home series, but instead were denied. Jim has been appealing the decision since the rejection from IMSA and I've always hoped he'd be able to win his case in the courts
@@asymsolutions Jim's argument is that the minimum car sales per year (2500) requirement guidelines for participating in IMSA prevents smaller manufacturers like Glickenhaus from taking part. Therefore that specific rule is discriminatory, which he claims is actually a breach of antitrust laws. So he would appear to have an argument. But doesn't want to file a lawsuit. That aside Given Glickenhaus is US base I thought that maybe IMSA would be a bit more lenient. Also the fact that gaining sponsors in America for glickenhaus could be a boon for both parties. ($$$)
@koraxi8958 and any judge will laugh at it. 1. Because discrimination based on business size is not protected against aka LLCs are not a protected class 2. He's not even a manufacturer. U.S. legal system has long held that if you aren't actively in the business you are no longer a business, glickenhaus has sold 0 cars since they've "announced start of production". The ones you keep see are pre-production prototypes. 3. IMSA is not the only series he can race/market his brand in as evidenced by the WEC so it's not antitrust either.
I think Robert Frijns was a good option for BMW Motorsport to pick for the Hypercar, Always notice him doing well in the WRT LMP2 class. Also one of the few drivers I supported in Formula E. I can't wait for the day BMW gets a podium in WEC
I think it would be cool if Glickenhaus could run the Acura's from IMSA as Hondas in the WEC. As a team they are good at racing and have very talented drivers, I have no doubt they would be very competitive.
Very professional update as always FJ, you keep us connected to the enduro racing world like never before, keep it up please! A couple of comments, I’m not an Alfa Romeo fan but the front of their hypercar? It may have been a mock up but it looked amazing! Also, Frijns was very fast at Bathurst, he will be an asset to BMW if they put him on their hypercar roster.
Thank you for your support Phil! Your right that Alfa Romeo concept car looks great! I hope if they make a Hypercar for Le Mans it will look something like that. And yeah, Frijns to BMW is a great move by WRT, totally agree with everything you said!
Actually, I believe if they do go hypercar, that they will go the same route as Ferrari or IF, meaning that they involve an outside chassis builder to co-design their base chassis, like Dallara or Michelotto. Use their hybrid tech from their Formula 1 racing in combination with their manufacture-based engine. As for the outer body, it's better to base it off either the 4C/8C, or the new Tipo 33 Stradale.
Alpha Romeo should just become the Title Sponsor of Glickenhaus. Refresh their Engine Deal and bam! Win-Win! (Maybe Alpha can even supply an hybrid system and help the car improve in that way)
Great video as always Jonah, it's nice having everything rolled into one video! Just wanted to point out that BMW was fist and second fastest at the indy test overall, you might have just been looking at the session 2 results where JDC was fastest. The times on day 2 were quicker than day 1!

@Formula Jonah Instead of Alpine for IMSA is it Nissan brand that might compete? Any updates regarding Andretti Honda plan? What about De Tomaso LMH project?
Considering that Alpine is strengthening their presence in the USA, unfortunately I don’t see Nissan joining. If you mean the potential plan for Andretti WTR Acura-Honda to join WEC, atm it doesn’t look likely for 2024. I could potentially see them heading to Spa to race and Le Mans, but that’s unlikely. The De Tomaso LMH rumor has unfortunately gone quite after no announcement at the Le Mans Classic. Maybe late 2023 or early 2024 they would be interested in announcing a entry to Le Mans?
Thank you! Not sure how I missed that on my multiple edits through the video, especially considering that I have spelled their name out countless times and not had any issues haha. For this video it was just a mistake with their names spelling, will be fixed with the next one!
If I had the money I'd throw it at Glickenhaus to make sure they continue to race. One of these billionaires could easily do it. It's a damn shame IMSA refuses to let them race but the rules are rules unfortunately
Alfa Romeo going to the WEC is the last thing I would expect to hear. Given how Maserati is being positioned as a racing team once again, I would have absolutely expected them to make their debut WAY before I would have expected Alfa Romeo to make theirs. If anything, I would expect Alfa Romeo to stay in F1 and Maserati to compete in WEC and Formula E similar to the relationship between Porsche and Audi. If Alfa Romeo continues on in F1 tho, and they want to win, they need to become more of a works team instead of just slapping their name on someone else’s project and calling it a day. It’s embarrassing for Alfa, and it makes them look bad even though they’re not doing anything
A lot of questions for 2024 really. Will Toyota debut the GR020 or will they stick with the 010?, or will they be leaving? (The rumour sounded once...). Why Lambo are going with such a cautious approach, will they be competitive? And, will Doriane Pin drive for them?... Hope Glick stays, they allways skip fuji and Barhain to make a comeback next season, and Alfa Romeo partnering them seems quite cool, they where going to be their engine supliers before rule change. Only if... Alpine getting Gasly would be really cool and could help a lot with the development of the car. And F1 driver having hard time in LM? Alonso-Hulkenberg: Bruh... I don’t think in 2023. The Ferrari’s are only in the endurance rounds I believe, they should be back at Road Atlanta in October. Hopefully in 2024 they will come!
Sebring is better test. Daytona is dedicated racing track I think. Sebring is basically runway converted to racing track so conditions are mostly identical to Le Mans
@@kidpagronprimsank05 i Agree but a 12 hour race can't give you the same data that a 24 hour race can. What if a certain part like a suspension component is prone to failure at hour 20 but they won't know if they only do 12 hours.
