Carrying Fire the Pikunii Way

This is an instructional video designed to accompany K-12 curriculum developed by RMRS in collaboration with the Blackfeet Community College, Browning, MT. In this recorded interview, Blackfeet elder Marvin Weatherwax describes the traditional way that the Pikunii (Blackfeet) people carried fire from camp to camp throughout the seasons. Weatherwax demonstrates with a model of a completed fire carrier and a cutaway version and summarizes the annual migration pattern of the Pikunii people.
