three days ago I pulled the trigger on this holster, and it's in shipping. Tonight I pulled the trigger on a P2 and IMMEDIATELY got scared that I would be buying another holster. This video was super clutch and saved me from thinking I will be spending another $250 on another holster.
Good tip, I’ve been running the SL 6390 RDS with my G17 and ACRO P2 for a while, I didn’t think to put the hood to the second hole position. Great tip, thanks 👍
@@Barnes828 Yes I noticed this when put the hood into the second hole, it became easy to accidentally close the hood which would be a problem when attempting to re-holster. I’ve since put the hood back in it’s originally position so it cannot close unintentionally. I hope that larger OEM or aftermarket option becomes available in the future. But even as is or without the hood, the 6390RDS is still a great option.
ACRO P2 will fit in a 6354DO (X300U/RMR) with some slight modification (it involves a dremel and a steady hand and a heat gun for that tab next to the ALS release, but it DOES work
You know you can hit the 54 with a hair dryer to widen up the narrow section and the P2 fits like a dream. That’s what I did at least 🤷🏽♂️. Also getting it directly milled to the slide is 10x better
I believe the optic hood has changed like you said, my 6390 doesn’t have a second set of holes like yours. Good thing I didn’t order a 6354DO because I didn’t know that the ACRO doesn’t fit it. Wish I could get my hands on a damn P-2!
Thanks for the confirmation! A few comments since yours say it works with a hair dryer which might be a cheaper option for people since they’re finally prevalent on the second hand market. I’m sticking with the 6390 because I already bought it and my monkey brain simultaneously doubles down on poorly researched purchases AND a rear window cover.
@@LiquidForce392 Really good so far, I don’t see any downsides to it at this time. The RMR is the only other dot I’ve got time on (outside of just trying the other major players) so I can’t really compare. Looking through the mailbox is easier than the RMR for me, but im hoping it’s just because I’ve improved my presentation, maybe? I’m also shocked they’re not pumping them out, I see this taking over and I’d recommend it over the others if it’s durability stands.
I’m running the same thing, but learned quickly that the extra hole isn’t an extra “setting” but actually cut for two circular notches on the inside of the hood so it has a slightly positive click* and retains its position. My gear constantly opens and closes my hood when I run it the way youre showing, so I would find myself checking its status all the time. Got annoying, so I just removed it entirely. I bought a closed emitter for a reason anyway, lol.
Thanks bro. I'm trying to figure out if my 6390 RDS will fit my gun with the trijicon RCR that I (back)ordered. Holster Finder says I need the RDSO) but I'd love to save the money if it'll still fit.
Haven’t cross referenced the dimensions but it looks similarly sized to the P-2 so the 6390 should be sufficient. I’m basing that off side by side comparisons I saw on instagram but I’d go with the 6390. As you already know the holster finder sucks.
I’m Getting the 6390 RDS holster for my 19X with the Acro P2. Which optic cutout did you get one your holster since it doesn’t give the Acro p2 optic as an option. Thanks!
I think I chose Holosun 509T, but I honestly can’t remember. My logic was choosing the largest optic on the list. Based on other people’s posts I don’t think you’ll have an issue with a 6390 RDS because it’s the ‘DO’s which have a narrower optic cutout/area.
My 509t direct milled to my G45 fits the DO & 6390rds with 0 mods . My RMRrm7 direct milled to my G19 will not fit the DO however . I need to mod the DO still 🤷🏻♂️
@@wittech6116 The only deals I’ve seen on just the holster were at OPTactical and that was hit or miss. I’ve gotten all of mine direct for Safariland or second-hand. @@beachdrugpanda you’re going to love the P2. The RMR was the only optic I’d had a considerable amount of time on and I think the P2 meets or exceeds it in every way. Only issue is finding one.
I’m not personally familiar with that model, but I’d assume so. The issue I foresee if if the bale (spelling?) isn’t big enough it may not go over the optic. It’s got an RDS cover under that so I don’t see why not. What I’m calling the ‘bale’ is that first plastic cover which wraps over the rear of the slide in retention. Not sure if you’re asking this, by the 19 holsters are just 17 length with a barrel plug that’s removable.

The second hole for the hood is meant to be the “latch” notch so the hood has tension when shut

You can also use the low ride UBL with the 6390 which is about the same height as the mid ride UBL with the DO. I
The low ride is worth it for the 25 bucks.

Yes

Yes, if you have the G17 length model or G19 with the barrel plug taken out

Yes, if you order the 34 length model. You can take out the plug on a shorter model, but expect the slide/barrel to protrude.
