I get so excited about your videos I have to comment before I even fully watch the the thing.. We moved abroad because we're from different countries and the easiest/cheapest/fastest way for us to be together was not for one of us to immigrate to one of our own countries but to a place that was easier and cheaper to gain residency for the both of us, like Ecuador! I believe this was also in God's plan for us.. but boy oh boy did I have no flippin clue what I was getting into moving down here... Good "excuse?" Well, at least we're together. At least this experience has matured me.
Lol....most people don't realize, even with all the information out there to ponder, they don't realize what they're getting into. We usually have to experience issues first before we realize we made a mistake. But maybe you didn't make a mistake. Moving abroad certainly does broaden the mind. Maybe you are where you should be. Thanks for sharing that story with us. Take care the both of you. Blessings.
Your willingness to accept the fact that you violated #1 (best place to live in the world) is exactly why I've been following and enjoying your channel for years. Your honesty is a breath of fresh air. It's why I have so much respect for your opinions/ideas. Thanks for all the great videos.
Thank you both for all the work you do. I love your breath of fresh air in the retire abroad world. I want to wish you both a very merry Christmas to you and your family. I wish you all the best and health and adventures in life in the coming year.
@ thanks but January 1st has zero connection to a new year. maybe later December could be considered the winter solstice and somewhat of a new year ? January 1st has zero relevance as the new year other than those that in their fantasy minds created it millenia ago

I was considering moving abroad now you have me thinking..... I would love for you to do a video on nice places in the USA to retire on a budget instead of moving abroad. People, such as myself, are considering moving abroad because most places in the USA that are really nice and scenic have been "discovered" by the billionaires and digital nomads, and have made prices insane. I know I could get a reasonably priced home and affordable lifestyle in the middle of North Dakota, or a small town in central Nebraska or eastern Ohio, however, I would not enjoy retirement in such places. The Lure of Panama, Costa Rica and the Philippines, is that they are beautiful, and scenic, and a middle class retiree can actually afford to live in such a place. Many desirable, beautiful places have been completely taken over by the wealthy in the USA, and are NOT a possibility.
Thank you for watching and sharing that. Maybe we can do that but it will take some research because you want a paradise in the US for cheap! lol But anything is possible. Take care.
You better go and find out if moving abroad is for you. Don’t let nobody on social media tell you not to go that’s knocking down everyone else that’s inspiring you too. If everything is negative In someone’s message, nothing positive, then there is an agenda. Even various other influencers talk about the cons and pros. Don’t just focus on 1 content creator. I’m from Youngstown, Ohio. Yes Ohio is cheap, but I’ll never go back there to live. Winters are cold, it’s boring. May be better for small town folk, Just not moving to undesirable towns just to afford to live in the USA with some kind of lifestyle. You’re going to be in whatever area most of the time that you might not be happy with. Have faith in living abroad due to some that are, and enjoying it. Remember everyone isn’t coming back, if that place don’t work out, there are others. I’m in at least 5 expat groups. Some been there between 1 year up to 20+. Just pick the right place for you. A friend of mine lives in Germany who’s from New York. Been there since the 80’s. Met them in the 90’s while in the military, just spent a month last year visiting them. The worst of the problems are mostly mentioned in here. But the USA problems aren’t mentioned, just downplayed as well, they aren’t perfect. Don’t let people make narratives for you, make them yourself.
@@HMFamilyLife Yes, I agree! Not everyone, myself included, is looking to live in a beach in a tropical paradise for "cheap". Just a nice scenic, clean place that suits what I like to do, and is affordable on my upcoming retirement income. Each person has preferences.
Because Americans can move to any country as long as they got a good amount of USD saved up. The problem is when they run out of money, they’ll come crawling back to America. This is specifically for working age Americans. Retirees live off of social security and pensions.
Thanks a lot for sharing here from my abroad Dublin destination where, I will stay home and work this Christmas, "enjoying" the damp, cold Dublin wind and not least, keeping an eye out for the "smart" Danes, should they desire to come and attempt to get me slaughtered also this year..., hrmph ... but, maybe Ireland isn't as exotic in their small minds as Cape Verde was last January... Who knows. 🤔 Enjoy your Christmas if you spend and, take care 🎄🎀🎄

@@HMFamilyLife I have been researching rural parts of Puerto Rico and certain parts of West Virginia (Gorgeous!),
Yes, the US has many nice areas just depends on what your personal preferences are. That's really what it comes down to.

Why is Nicaragua a big time destination now on different UA-cam videos to me, it’s such a impoverish country, and the government is corrupt
It's trending....lol. seriously.
@@rjh2772 It seem to have become one of the targets for certain European NGO's by now - they probably can't find other places 😢
Some people don’t mind going to challenging countries.

Number 8 make you poorer after 3 years
lol...it can make you poorer. Some Americans end up homeless abroad, especially in the SE Asian countries. Thanks for watching.
