@@Schwing27 Sold it a few days ago. Settled for the Quest 3, if that’s an indication of anything 😊 6 months of pain and sadness, plus countless emails back and forth, which didn’t fix anything.
I’m very happy with my new Quest 3, don’t miss the Crystal even a bit.
Hope your experience goes the opposite direction than mine.

@@infinitelooptv9939 hmmm what issues were you having? Funny thing… I returned my Quest 3 recently for the same reason. I couldn’t get the link to work on my PC. It was frustrating. So I gave up. VR is a tricky thing.

im glad you made this video waiting for mine to come in. made my total payment last week. i would love to see a vr settings guide for msfs using open xr tool kit with pimax crystal.
I will await for the official pimax client to release there. Im sure vr flight sim guy will be onto that! But if he doesn't have that box covered I'll dive into it :) msfs had around a 20% uplift with very minor DFR settings.
I'm more interested in the integrated dfr as they have the quad view stuff built into the engine already.
I should add that MSFS foveated rendering is done by utilising dynamic shaders as its not integrated the uplift is only minor. It's great we have it in so many titles but unless the sim/game dev integrates true DFR that's when we will see really noticeable uplift ala 50%+

Can you recomend this Pimax Crystal headset just for room scale VR? Shooter - Skyrim VR , Fallout VR Hubris , Hellsplit Arena ect..
I have a Reverb G2 and i can handle the room scale VR but i would like to get a better picture quality.

Bionocular overlap is good in this eadset ? You can see the 3d effect very well right? Because in the past i have one pimax 5k plusand the a3 effect was very poor because of this lack of bionocular overlap. Thanks this answer in advance.
The binocular overlap is quite large from what I've heard from I believe OMNIWHATEVER. The can understand they may have compromised the FOV in the 5k by reducing the overlap not too sure there. I've been lucky with not experiencing a bad 3d effect so can't comment too far their sorry.
How have you found the ergonomic comfort of the back of the Crystal headset resting on your racing sim chair? I've seen someone say it's a problem for them vs. VR headsets like the Pico 4 and G2, etc, because of how thick it is back there. Have you found the same a bit by any chance?
Fantastic question! I would say it is actually an annoyance for me, I dont sit all the way back but its not so much the battery that is annoying but the headstrap dial that rubs and occasionally loosens! Its not something that would sway my decision if I had my time again rebuying the headset :)
Unfortunately I have to say that I find it annoying. It’s no longer possible to lean back completely. But I guess I’ll get used to it…

Rumor has it, The programmer is closing shop.. Hopefully Pimax will use there own software
pimaxxr? Ill have to check havent seen matt say anything. it hasnt really been in development for a long time its in its final state.
I can tell you mate..I live atm in USA, born in the country I love Australia..miss home..I did speak wit Joshua Son from Pimax about an XR development and DFR improvement in the works
@Simmymind360 interested to see what they can do with xr on that camera faceplate they have in the works. The older gen snapdragon chip is probs gonna hold them back.
there's a card that shows me to remove the lenses screws? is this correct?
@josh I press to switch from steamvr to opencomposite and it gives me an error saying that it cannot download 32 bit. Anyone with same issue?

i heard if you have openxr toolkit you wont need open composite because openxr run time by passes steam vr is that right
I would have to ask someone in the open composite discord for that one but the pimax runtime has a box to tick which one you want to use openxr or steamvr so at a guess that would fill the same roll.
Where must i start the games from steamvr ore from the pimax home
Should we open the game via Steam or via Steam VR after setting this all up? This is something that has confused me. I tried opening via Steam and kept trying to Shift Tab to enter VR mode but it does not and I am stuck in Theater.
Open what game?..you need to set open composite to open composite then go to your steam games say ACC hit play, it will give you an opi to start in Steam VR or even Oculus VR..you need to start in Steam VR..this will prevent steam VR app from opening and run it directly from game...this helps with performance as going into steam VR home can be a big performance hit
hey buddy me again lol can you power off the crystal without turning the pc off ? and when swaping out the battery is ther a button you have to press fist before the swap out because i change my battery and it rebooted the headset instead of continueing my game.
To power mine down I shut down the pimax software and it will begin charging. This process works for me and as I use experience home the popup doesn't annoy me when doing normal computing.
Might have to read the manual I've never done a hot swap. I think I remember having to swap to the AiO mode instead of PCVR which is on the back right of the front section. Could be wrong there.

It takes about 10 to 15 minutes for the client find my headset I noticed in device manager there has been request fails attempts to install the crystal driver do you see an official climax driver in device manager for the headset I'm using Windows 11 only time they had sent shows up is when I plug a USB C into the side of the hmd perform firmware update and it is listed in portable devices
Unfortunately it's early days and we really are field testing the software. One thing I have found is I definatly have to disable one of my monitors by physically unplugging the cable at the GPU. Give that a crack and reboot and let me know if that helps :)
@@gibilator will do I've just been asking everyone who owns a crystal if they see a an official driver in the device manager and if you can locate the device

@@gibilator still no driver shows up in the device manager but connection time to the client has decreased I plug the USB 3.0 data cable into a front IO of the computer to the USB 2.0 that has decreased connection time believe it or not but don't want to leave it there because of the data speeds

same i only found an older version but its not downloading the dll files. it seems like that the download servers are down

@@gibilator I've had my Crystal a week or so now , It's a real tinkerers headset. So many options to tweak in 4 separate programs. It's a hard learning curve. I appreciate your video :)
@iimortal_tv6109 100% wasn't expecting that either. Fine tuning things isn't beyond me but used to dialing a resolution in with the g2 and away you go.
I spent 2 hours last night in iRacing trying to get dynamic foveated rendering working and not too noticeable. Unbelievably I settled on steamvr at 120hz! I'll punch out that video today if I can.
What games work on openxr?
Everything I've tried that's openvr so far has worked in openxr. Not sure if the answer is everything though sorry.
WHO would have thought i would have to install 4 pieces of software to get this game bonelabs running
