@@SantiagoAQA can reach part of your brain that otherwise would be difficult to reach, to some, I feel for the drugs I've tried the feelings can be reached sober, however I have tried very few drugs
The bass on this is groovy as funk... Should've used this on the official release... Something about George screaming YEAH and vocalizing in the backround is sick against the drums and guitar... Pure Funkenstein on display
RHCP are truly one of the last actual innovators in music. It’s special and RARE when a band creates a sound and style that NOBODY has ever done or heard of. People love to trash Anthony, but they wouldn’t have become who they did without Anthony. He was that wild and crazy friend they had who was lost without knowing what his purpose in life was, all while he watched his musician friends find their purpose. The smartest and greatest decision they ever made was throwing Anthony a microphone to see what came out of it. His energy was out of this world, his soul was pure love and funk, his stage presence was unmatched, and his determination to grow as an artist/performer is nothing short of astonishing. He was not meant to know how to sing like just another random normal band….it was truly a gift because what he organically produced out of his soul is what made the RHCP’s a group of legendary innovators. That young man would have never thought in his life that he would grow to be a legend with his friends that he believed would go on to be successful legends without him. Anthony and Flea were the main innovators of the never before seen style seeds that they planted and blossomed. The cosmic style mixtures of Bone Crunching Mayhem Funk, Rap, and Punk Rock made people bust their fucking nuts and leak magic rappity funky punk juice right out of their anal orifice. And that gift i mentioned about Anthony not being a singer in the beginning, not only made them actual innovators, but it also gave Anthony a world’s amount of time for improvement. Him and the MASSIVE amount of potential evolvement he had been given is how that band has the incredibly successful longevity that very few bands will ever reach. Anthony literally evolved and transformed into another level of artist/singer/performer. It led them to level up and create something amazingly fresh for every new album they did. But they were also still able to harness their Funk, Rap, and Punk rock roots, sprinkling it all over their art with those added angelic guitar/bass melodies, Anthony’s new melodic style of rapping/singing/and Frusciante’s Godly like vocal harmonies……So many bands have copied and tried to recreate or reinvent the RHCP style, but they either didn’t last very long, or they failed miserably. There will only ever be ONE Organic Anti Beatbox band….and only ONE group of Funky Monks, and that’s the Red Hot Chili Peppers 🌶️ ❤️ 🤘 🤙
and everyone gives Anthony's lyrics shit. Cmon. I can see where people that have only heard Give It Away or Can't Stop or something like that would think he's not lyrically sophisticated, but listen to this shit
Ex-girlfriend called me up Alone and desperate on the prison phone They want to give her seven years For being sad My friends are so distressed And standing on the brink of emptiness No words I know of to express This emptiness
wow, had only been aware of the footage of this that was synced with the studio version. so awesome to hear the live raw track!! Clinton killing it as per usual!
Just listened to the new single. And had to go back to what I loved when I got into them as a kid. Am I old who only likes what I grew up with, or are these early albums up to one hot minute a wonderful thing!?
Top 3, definitely. I say that with no attachment to any era of the band, new or old or very old. Only one song I'm not so big on, but otherwise no bad songs and a fuckton or great ones, including this song.
Delivered a pizza once to George in Brooklyn, Mi. Didn't appreciate who he was at the time, but I knew he was a famous musician. I was more into the zep, floyd thing at the time. His old lady answered the door and took the pie, but George was in there sitting on the couch...
How the heck have I missed this video these past several years? Seeing a younger George Clinton and the young Peppers is the musical equivalent to finding video footage of Bible events!
Perfect funk is jazz. I dig it. Ain't no such thing as perfect but in the moment funk is perfect. Know what I mean. Give it up for the peppers still funkin to this day30 years Later. Chili peppers for prez 2024 after Bernie hands them a revolutionized America. Feel the berm feel the funk have a soul have a heart. Peace love sex and funk. I will love you guys forever. We still keep you in our thoughts and hearts Hillel. And Johnny, we absolutely love what you're up yo don't stop you're making the world better but we still need you to rejoin one last time and make a soul stew with your brothers before it's too late. I hope word gets around and I hope this message of love touches all of you whether through me and this message or through the collective soul you allow us to be part of.
Any punk rock band that makes their 2nd album with Dr. Funkenstein, Garry Shider and the funk mob are legends in my book. People forget or just weren’t around to remember how mind-blowing this was at the time. Blood Sugar Sex Magik opened up the whole alternative thang for Nirvana to come right through. Uncle Jam is a genius. Listen to more Parliament and Funkadelic 🤘🏻
Man If they got Chad Smith up in there under George Clinton, He would been Melted in Awe of the sound! But you could he was already amazed with this line up!
Imagine having George Clinton saying yeah whilst walking off on your band playing. Imagine him singing your lyrics from memory WOW Yes I am sure chemicals were involved but honestly.... Fuck me
Flea: "What is funk, George?"
George: "Perfect funk is jazz"
...And we ain't playing jazz :D
Funk
Fairfax high had all kinds of music running through it.
But we ain't playing jazz.
What did he mean by that? Did he mean that perfect funk is improvised, or is it related to timing?
hillel's minimalistic playing on this song is a fucking masterpiece...
Dude I wish he was still alive, but then we wouldn't have Jesus him self in the form of John F.
@@inspectorconscious2388but that would work out well for the inevitable time when Frusciante quits yet again. 😂
Amen.
Hillel funking his way through that entire song. These guys were having so much fun recording this song
Elite funk, Hillel is unmatched.
George Clinton just jammin with the young chilis, so fuckin sweet
this was when they were the Luke-warm chili peppers
nothing but pure magic right here!!!!!
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand ALOT of drugs.... let's be real.

Still sounds funky fresh in 2018!
And in 2023 🤘
Where is Anthony Kiedis? all I see is a man with a shirt on
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
jokes old bruh
Covering his trackmarks and trying not to shiver
that’s so weird lol
It was a Freaky time
I think this IS the original audio. You can tell by the sound of the drums. Goes to show how talented they are/were!
Way more cymbals tho
The bass on this is groovy as funk...
Should've used this on the official release... Something about George screaming YEAH and vocalizing in the backround is sick against the drums and guitar... Pure Funkenstein on display
When the music got a certain way George would say yeah or owwwe check out the funkadelic albums or his concerts

Anyone else dig this version more than the final product with trumpets and everything?
bro i'm right with you there. but i feel the same way about the older chili peppers songs like out in l.a. is so much better live.
waay better than what got released years later
Yep! It sounds more heavy and less polished.
Shittier version. Easy.
Yeah it’s so much better, just a raw funk sound

listen to anthonys lyrics on shrooms. End of.
He never was a singer really, but a rapper instead.

This Needs To Be Released In This Version!!! NOW!!!
RHCP and George Clinton = funky and groove music 🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶
This crazy
The 4/4 timing in this version, makes it way better than the record version. Even the live versions are inferior to this version.
what are you on about; this IS the album version, just without horns overdubbed and a slightly different mix.
Who knew? all it took was for George Clinton to say, “play perfect funk!” In your face!
4:46. YOU GOT IT!
Awesome !!!! Back to the origins !!!
I love everything about this.
George is 80… wow how time passes
2:04 I love it when Anthony does the Elaine dance from Seinfeld
Thanks for preserving this important piece of history.
This is so good! They learned from the master
So dope.

Yeah, and is interesting how that sound still is with RHCP today.
the Strat > Marshall sound was dead in the 80’s until Hillel brought it back. never gets any credit for it either
Que álbum é o freaky styley senhores , Um álbum super Funky!! ❤
George… what a master producer 🫡
Simplesmente sensacional
I wish they had George produce one last album for them. Bring back the funk.
It is in my version of the album
