Many thanks for a great video and nice to say hellow on the Sat...Lovely to look back at it....great show with fantastic displays ...a great hobby. Aidan. Waterford.
Thanks for posting. I didn't manage to get to the show, I shied off as I was on crutches from a hip replacement. My late father was one of the founding members of the MRSI. So the choo choo's are in my blood stream despite not having a layout. No space, time and they are quite expensive now. That said the quality and detail is in another dimension from 55 years ago. My father had a big interest in the Donegal railway, and I remember he had started building a layout and it was in the uncles garage. One big problem was stock, it would need to be hand built. So it didn't progress. I recently scanned a pile of slides from the 60/70's and found some from a holiday to Donegal in possibly 1965/66 going by my age and lack of two other sisters. Most were of the abandoned Donegal Railway, including the old rail cars; the ones with the diesel motor on the front and bus style entry. You are welcome to a copy of them. They are part of the history of the line. You may have similar images in your vault. If you let me know how to email them to you, I'd be more than happy to send them on. Joe.
@@DonegalDadRail I've just realized they're not on the new computer, I'll retrieve them from the old one and send them on. It will take a day or two as I have abandoned Windows and moved to Linux. Just like the old XP system but fifty times faster.
Hi, Mark! A brilliant show, all the better to see so many models and more specifically for the Irish railways. Nice layouts and some cool models to come for the Irish modeler! That bridge was fantastic, but too much to give credit to it all! Cheers!
Mark, thank you very much for taking the time to talk to us on Saturday, despite how busy and how early a start you had. Look forward to meeting you and other shows and fingers crossed we'll have a shunting layout to show in Wexford from the Midlands Model Railway Club!
Really enjoyable video, surprised they modelled the new DART trains before they even turned a wheel on the Irish Network. I did visit Dún Laoghaire station and guessing that a older version of the station and not the current layout with the modern buildings and a extended bay platform
Very good exhibition, nice presentation. Did I understand correctly, there will be an exhibition next year too? Or was there no exhibition again until 2026? I don't know if I understood this correctly. A lot of nice facilities you showed in the video. I live in Bergen, Norway, we just had a model railway exhibition, this weekend I and some friends are going to a town called Hamar to take part in a new exhibition. At the exhibition in Bergen there were exhibitors from the UK. Hope to be able to join in Dublin later, want to experience this.
There is a show every October Bank Holiday (Last Monday of October is the Bank Holiday) in Dublin. The two clubs take it in turn to put a show on so next year will be South Dublin Club in Blackrock College
