Tuğrul 😯😯 Are you serious ? Why do you say that ? I mean the lira went from $1 to 2 TL to 6 TL. Did anything else happen ?
I went to Istanbul last summer and FELL IN LOVE WITH IT. My dream is to go back again... the food was incredible it looked soo European and advanced, fell in love with it, took my breathe away every direction we looked.

@Tuğrul I understand what you mean but still western countries are also too expensive in their own way , 40 per cent tax in UK . And stagnant psyscale for for last 10 years even for health professionals who do crazy amount of work as health service is so stretched . In short rich are super rich and no one gives a damn about working class.

I have been watching Travel Beans occasionally for around a week. This is the video I think that hit me how good you two are at doing this. I hope you are able to continue to grow this channel because your videos and commentary are a cut above. I think some of your best videos are the slow ones -- like this one -- that give the watcher a real feel for what these places are like. It probably depends upon what the viewer is looking for, but I have Travel Beans pegged at the realistic side of the spectrum, which is what I am interested in. I think even your discussion about depression is a good thing because again it discusses or covers the realistic side.
I also think your research is good, so you also inform the viewer. So that attention to detail is appreciated.

Wow.. thanks so much for such a kind comment! So glad you've been enjoying our videos! We were actually thinking of doing more slow ones like this.. to give people a feel for a place, the prices, atmosphere etc.. so it's great to have such positive feedback. Thanks Shaun!

Istanbul is great. I have stayed in Sirkeci close to the Topkapi Palace and also near Taksim ( some hotels are close to the restaurants and bars so it may be extremely noisy) Had an interesting experience in one hotel ( not to be named ) where the guy taking me to my room exposed himself in front of me when I was in the shower ( forgot to lock the door when he left so he returned haha ) I was not offended and thought it rather funny. Next morning he served me breakfast as if nothing happened. The Topkapi Palace is a must and I also took a boat to the Prince Islands. The food in Istanbul is great and the people friendly

This won't keep me from going but I hate this. This doesn't just happen in Turkey of course, it's just that this video is about Turkey.
I hate when local people want to take advantage of tourists when one is spending money in their economy. It's like shooting your own foot.

Great tips & love your videos.. i came Istanbul twice for a short period and stayed near Sultan Ahmed mosque... i know too pricey.... This time i am planning to stay for 30 days. What area in Kidokoy do you recomend to stay in and very close to the tourist area? Thx

We stayed in an Airbnb and, unfortunately, the host is no longer going to be renting it out. However, there are loads of great options for Airbnb's around Kadiköy :)
