It is and always will be Solidworks. DS is trying to push more content towards us SW users. I wish I knew you were coming, I would have loved to say hi. My group, Central Texas Solidworks User Group, won the Meetup of the Year on Wednesday, BTW...
Hi Jimmy, your are doing really a good stuff..iam having a personal question Iam a student from India, I have completed my Under graduation in Mechanical engineering and at present Iam doing a 6 month intern as a Industrial designer in Small scale industry in India, and almost Iam in a final stage of Intern period..my question is Am I face any problem while applying Industrial design jobs abroad without having an school education in Design..
Absolutely! You have complete control over who you allow to access your data. You can read more about the security measures in place on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform here: blogs.solidworks.com/solidworksblog/2020/07/can-you-really-trust-your-data-in-the-cloud.html
Great video! I’m not an ID, I’m an engineer, but working with many IDs over the years and seeing their frustrations to bridge the gap between ID and ME/manufacturing, xShape is truly a game-changer. I’ve always been poor at surfacing, and xShape has instantly given me a whole new skillset! I love how easy it is to use and the direct integration with traditional SOLIDWORKS. Keep up the great work! 👏👍
@@AndrewBonicaRR lol That's like saying your data is safe with Google, Apple, Facebook, Microsoft, Twitter, Instagram.... you get the point. Long story short, time and time again cloud storage has proven to be as secure as a bike lock.
Hello, jimmy. I remembered that I watched a video of you sharing the process of design a fan. I like it,and I really want to know how is the whole processes like. But I cannot find it now. Did you delete it?
What an adventure! Love this video style too :) Not that your other videos aren't awesome already. I wish 3d modeling programs for architecture were as thorough as solidworks!
Browser based=pay us or don't use it at all. Solidworks monetization model is already quite bad (if you don't pay license fee you lose acces to download/upgrade server-->if your hard drive dies and you want to download it again? Too bad no can do, pay us. Want to activate your license, that you already paid once and fees before this point? Strangely connection to the server cannot be made. Want help? Nope, it is also behind pay wall.) Looks cool though.
Hi Jimmy! Thank you for keeping us up to date on the industry standards tools! Question, has any app (such as Sharp3D) become the ‘transition’ to iPad and the go-to resource for IDs (other than SolidW) in the disciple yet? Thanks! ✌️
We used Solidworks in Design school. I didn't find to be as flexible as I needed it to be. The struggle with the software can become an obstacle for a designers creativity. Sometimes its just a drag to use. Maybe it hates my guts...who knows?? Fusion 360 I find to be more user friendly and it already has this freeform functionality. Also, I just tried the online version of Solid and its still a less than enthusing experience with a lacking interface...takes me back to 2nd year CAD class🤮
whoa... holy crap... it really is you. I knew you since the pen modding days man. Looks like everything has been going really well for you! I'm glad this channel is doing well too! I assume you've completely retired from your pen crafting days? ps, years ago you sold me your mr. gears mod :)
Only Solidworks fanboys will think that Xshape is new and revolutionary. Similar functionality has been available forever through plug-ins and Onshape has done browser-based design since 2015.
Jimmy thank you for bring us all with you to the SolidW event! Amazing experience!!! Definitely look forward diving in more into the SolidW tutorials! Thanks!!!

Darn, would have been awesome to meet up. Next time!
I too am looking forward to more SW tutorials. Gotta love that Jazz
How is xShape different than T-Splines or any other subD modeling software?
Please make more tutorials on Solidworks. I love your channel
Headphones tutorial coming up Sumeet! :)
I already work that way with the power surface pluggin
Hey Jimmy, any comment on the comparison between SW and Fusion360?? F360 is also seemed to be used by many.
I haven't really been exposed to Fushion 360 much. I'll look into it, thanks Milan!
@@JimmyHuynhdesign Sure, and also let us know. Thanks
Fusion 360 and autodesk inventor had this for years lol
True but Soildworks is the standard ;)

What about data security Jimmy? Can you keep your project data private on this new platform?
Whats up Savvy. I'm not familiar with the security part but that is a good question to bring up with them.
