Can this be done with other paints other than Citadel? I really dislike the size and form of the bottles, they dry up and are prone to spilling and mixing with other colours by accident. Which colours to use? Thanks!

Hey, the models look great, I wanted to ask how you did the leviathan carapace on your Tyranids, I have tried to recreate it just like your tutorial but it always came out too dark or too bright, but never like the reference image, did you add any medium, water, any other paints or anything like that? Did your add a thin or thick layer, I am interested to hear.

No, it appears to be done by paint type. Contrast, shade, base metallic, layer/base, then layer metallics. The last color is primer.
