Oh my gosh…my Dr told me I had Stage 2 and see you in 2 mos! Nothing else. I was scared outta my mind…lost 7 lbs in 3 weeks (down to 114) because I was afraid to eat anything that might damage my kidneys, drank more than 100oz of water a day, developed chest tightness and anxiety until I thought I was gonna have a heart attack. Luckily when I went to the Dr (a different one from the one who gave me the diagnosis) he calmed my fears, gave me some information and hope.

If you could point out some of the things one can do to slow down the progression of the disease, it would be helpful to many of us. I thank you for your time and much needed information.

He did. I'm still listening and he is describing that now. Changing your diet, exercise and taking medicines if they have been prescribed

I will make a note of this Sandra for a future video. I do have a lot of videos on my channel where I talk about managing kidney disease and slowing the progression. Check out this one: ua-cam.com/video/D-SjYT3lHFo/v-deo.html

If you smoke, then quit now. Moderate exercise 30 min a day 5 days a week. Lower salt/sodium intake. Adk your doctor what else may help.

No matter kidney disease at what stage, dietary and portions control plus with doctor's medications & dietician guidance are the keys to stablise, slow progression and avoid dialysis. Persevere don't give up. Fr Singapore

I had ckd3 for SIX YEARS before I found out I had it. My incompetent GP never told me! It was the office who sent me a letter for a blood test. I questioned what it was for. That was when the Receptionist told me! I loathe and detest my GP.

You are an awesome doctor. Thank you. I’ve been diagnosed with stage 3b and have started eating healthier foods. I will see a nephrologist in a couple of weeks to find out what my next steps are. Thank you for putting my mind at ease.

Hi Doc, I am a CKD 3A patient. Mine was caused by my overdoing OTC meds and supplements. I have no high blood pressure or diabetes so my doctor didn't prescribe any medicine for me. He only advised me to eat right and continue living (hahaha) to slow down the progression of my kidney disease. So am I okay without any medication? I am actually grateful because I don't want to take medicine anymore because I am afraid that it will further damage my kidneys. Thank you always for your videos. You make me less worried.

Thank you , doctor. That was very helpful. Can you do a video on transplants, or how the transplant “ list” works? I hear every state has a list and you can get on more than one list? Also, are there many specifics when it comes to a donor being a match? Do they have to be the same blood type? Within a certain age, or level of health? And how do kidney patients go about convincing a total stranger to become a donor? If you have no family or friends?

No!!! Plant based protein is easiest on kidneys. Shakes also have a lot of sugar.

Good question. There is lees trust in the medical community since the pandemic than was happening before. Patients are less likely to believe a medical doctor now.

I will make a note to make a video focusing on stage 4. With Stage 4 you still have an opportunity to slow the progression - so many of these tips from this video still applies.
