Thanks for the update Don. We were booked on the first cancelled cruise our of Galveston. Only given about 36 hours. Luckily our plane tickets were refundable and we were about to book on MSC Seashore very last minute and got an amazing deal. Less than $900 for a deluxe balcony. So it worked out well, but we love the Regal Princess and was looking forward to that cruise. I hope the rest of your trip is uneventful.
We are booked on the transatlantic Ft. Lauderdale to London in April. Our favorite cruise line and ship. We took it last year London to Galveston. Still the best ship with the best staff. Make sure they get everything ready for us.
We are booked for Feb 9th. I hemmed and hawed about booking due to the engine troubles in the Fall, but was also lured in by a decent deal. Fingers crossed all goes well.
I knew it that they offered a discount because it’s the most broken cruise ship lolol. I can tell you on the Disney cruise ship I was on. I’ve got one of the oldest ones which I love and we got a discount because not too many people are going on it cause they’re going on the newest ships.
Just got back from a cruise we booked just to get away--no great ports, etc. Just enjoyed the ship, relaxed, and enjoyed being away. Hope you relax and enjoy your cruise.
We were booked on the Regal for the 1/5 sailing which I think was the first where they announced the overnight in Roatan. We decided to cancel and Princes did give us a complete refund. We also had booked here for the British Isle Cruise in May before they announced the dry dock. I became too concerned with the ship and cancelled that one also. Sad to hear that they are still having issues.
We cancelled an 8 night in Feb on the Regal after they cancelled those cruises. We had a bad experience on the Vista when they had problems. Sure enough, lost power at sea one night. I don't go on vacation to deal with problems.
We were booked on the Regal Princess in April 2025 for a British Isles tour. It was a bucket list cruise for us. Yep. It was cancelled. 😞 We are taking a break from cruising for a while. We will find a different type of vacation. I still love cruising, but cruising needs to get better, meaning more reliable and a better value.
Same. Cruising in my country has gotten very expensive as there is a lot of demand but not as many ships coming out here anymore. And often, it's the older ships that come out. Princess cancelled a whole bunch of sailing this coming December/January as the Crown Princess is going into dry dock. It's just not worth it anymore.
My wife and I are on that Transatlantic cruise in April. Thanks for the update on the ship. Hopefully they are able to fix all the little things before we try and cross. I wouldn't want to be in the middle of the Atlantic and have it fail.
My wife and I sailed on the Regal last week, the cruise before yours, and the ship cruised right along fine. Cruisemapper had us at 21 knots. Our 1st stop was Roatan and we made it there several hours early.
We were on the Regal a couple of weeks ago, and other than the overnight in Roatan (notified early of the change and given opportunity to cancel for free) we had no issues. I’m hoping she keeps limping along fine as we will be back on her in March.
If you are not doing excursions nor want to see Ports then you are there for the relaxation and that's what Princess do well. Otherwise, it is frustration for everyone else who wants Ports and excursions.
I always say there's no bad adventure there's just a bad attitude. Even the worse adventure is still an adventure and now you have a good story to tell and advice for others.
I'm glad you made it onto the cruise after all the customs crap. We have been taking our cruises out of Vancouver because we can drive there from southeastern Idaho in a couple of days and stay overnight in Vancouver to avoid airport customs and TSA since I get taken aside and molested everytime and my luggage gets inspected. My man was so upset at the molestation, he said, "I don't even get to touch her there in public. Are you allowed to do that?" I bought a scrimshaw cribbage board in Alaska. It was really expensive, and it was the last cruise ship in, so they couldn't ship it for me, but they wrapped it really well. Customs pulled me aside and searched the whole bag, and cut through all the bubble wrap and paper to prove that it really was what I claimed it was. The darn thing weighed 25 lbs.!
As a long time watcher of your videos, I am pretty sure your voice sounds like you’ve been under a lot of stress. There’s a certain amount of “vocal fry” on the lower end of your range that isn’t normal for you Don. I’m saying a prayer for you, we need you to keep us up on all things travel.
We went on the November 17 cruise. The Oct 27 and Nov 3, and Nov 10 cruises were cancelled - so we were getting nervous. But the cruise completed without incident. One thing we learned after we went on the Regal the year prior - their balcony room does not have a couch. So on the Nov 17 cruise we booked a “deluxe” balcony. The Regal prices are very good compared to what Carnival and RCCL are charging these days.
i saw on tiktok another Canadian being stopped in Miami and got pulled for 3 hours after a cruise, thought you would like to know you weren't the only one.
Enjoy your cruise…..sounds like this one will meet your expectations to relax and rest. Sounds like a bargain to me. Sometimes a cruise to nowhere is just what the “doctor ordered”.
It’s not a good buy is you don’t get your entire cruise or get to as many ports as you are supposed to. If you are just cruising to relax and enjoy no biggie but many people cruise to get to check out different places. I enjoy sea days as long as the ship has enough to enjoy and plenty of good places to eat. But my hubby likes going on shore to look around and such. All the water in the Caribbean is beautiful and the beaches are great for the most part so to me once you see it I would be happy just floating around eating, watching shows, enjoying ocean views off my balcony. But many get very upset if they don’t get all the ports they were supposed to.
Blame it on Carnival. Ever since Carnival took over Princess cruises, Carnival's policy of lack of maintenance is ruining what was a premium cruise line. I would not book a cruise on either of the companies with their records of late.
We are on the Regal in April, our cruise was shortened. Doesn't bother me, we get a 25% account, and $250 obc. Bummed we will miss Scottland, but it's a good excuse to go back
10 years really isn't that old for a large oceangoing vessel. Most US Navy ships are older than that. Most of the planes you flew on to get to your cruises were older than that. Heck, the B-52 Stratofortress bomber is over 70 and will probably still be flying for another 70! Cruise ships are huge investments and extremely well-maintained and safe. I'd happily sail on a 30 year-old ship.
Proves the truth in the old saw, You get what you pay for. Seems to me I read more horror stories than I read good news. I think I will stick to River Cruises and stay away from the multi-thousand cough cans and gastro-intestinal disorder dispensers.
Don love your last few videos, but sad that you went from a broken prime Minister to a broken cruise ship. Also terrible with the airports have been doing, I'm hoping things start looking up for you. Keep up the good work❤
A really good deal aka free. Of course cruise is limping along. I would not feel safe. I hope all are getting a great discount to make this doomed voyage worthwhile?
Hey let me know if you find anymore great deals we were scheduled for the Nov trip that got canceled 24 hrs before leaving 😢got money back & fcc but because the deal I’d booked on was so great even with fcc everything is double what I’d paid so currently a little too rich for my blood. But hope you have a fabulous time taking a breather
I'm glad you are still having a good time in spite of all the setbacks you have encountered just getting on the ship. Keep the positive vibes, relax and enjoy.
You probably won't remember.but I told you what the old devil means for bad God turns it around for the good.looks like God is turning it around ,you got a great deal on your cruise and you are happy.
So yesterday we read you are in such a foul mood ETCETERA.So back on Princess with a good deal.So you get away from everything,ETCETERA,but next we will hear about your health,ETCETERA
Your name completely fits you. Nobody is forcing you to watch his channel. Go somewhere eles with your nasty attitude if your not happy. Geez what is wrong with humanity...oh wait, you have none.
As long as everything is clean and they're keeping me fed, sometimes a whole lot of nothing is just what you need!! Enjoy, Don!!!
Good for you Don. Taking care of yourself is needed.
You look well rested today. I would rather be on a broken cruise than in my office. HAVE FUN!
Of course, it's better to be on a broken ship in the Caribbean than working in the office while it's snowing and freezing outside. 🌨❄
Just as long as the toilets work!
We are booked on the transatlantic Ft. Lauderdale to London in April. Our favorite cruise line and ship. We took it last year London to Galveston. Still the best ship with the best staff. Make sure they get everything ready for us.
I'd be more worried about not being on the no-fly list soon than being on a broken ship.
I love your preference to Princess; of course, that's our preference too, so that doesn't hurt! God bless and sustain you, Don.
This would be my kind of trip. Relax & enjoy Don. ❤
Sounds like a perfect cruise to me!
I was on the Regal last June with no issues and it was a beautiful ship. We were in the British Isles. Cruise was smooth sailing.
Good is not cheap and cheap is not good!
Great just relax and enjoy!!
Nothing like a good deal & some relaxation.
I’m so glad you are having a. Good time you deserve it.
Enjoy your cruise despite the earlier setbacks.
Hi Don, Rather be in the warm slow going. Then -4 here last night.
We are booked for Feb 9th. I hemmed and hawed about booking due to the engine troubles in the Fall, but was also lured in by a decent deal. Fingers crossed all goes well.
Wow. Good deal 😊
Relax Don and enjoy
Was just on that ship mid December, and had a great time. Wishing yours were going better.
Enjoy the regal princess don
I knew it that they offered a discount because it’s the most broken cruise ship lolol. I can tell you on the Disney cruise ship I was on. I’ve got one of the oldest ones which I love and we got a discount because not too many people are going on it cause they’re going on the newest ships.
Just have fun and don't sweat the mishaps.
I'm glad that you are happy.
That’s a good attitude to have enjoy your trip.
Just got back from a cruise we booked just to get away--no great ports, etc. Just enjoyed the ship, relaxed, and enjoyed being away. Hope you relax and enjoy your cruise.
Glass half full, not empty! Have a great trip
Enjoy Don

Better on a cruise in warm weather than cold weather at home!
If you want to try some old ships, try some of Carnival ships where 8 of their fleet are 23 years or older.
Princess Regal get better soon. Will be sailing March 9th.🛳️
We cancelled an 8 night in Feb on the Regal after they cancelled those cruises. We had a bad experience on the Vista when they had problems. Sure enough, lost power at sea one night. I don't go on vacation to deal with problems.

It's just not worth it anymore.
That’s why I love the 16 day cruise to Hawaii out of LA. Relax!
After the heath issues you have posted about, I can’t believe this is your current concern. Better luck next time
We were on that Transatlantic. We are booked for the Regal on 1/29. This makes me a bit nervous for next week. Please continue to provide updates.
We are on the week after you! Now I am worried, more weeks for things to go wrong!
My wife and I are on that Transatlantic cruise in April. Thanks for the update on the ship. Hopefully they are able to fix all the little things before we try and cross. I wouldn't want to be in the middle of the Atlantic and have it fail.
6:35 I happen to like roatan I think it's pretty cool
My wife and I sailed on the Regal last week, the cruise before yours, and the ship cruised right along fine. Cruisemapper had us at 21 knots. Our 1st stop was Roatan and we made it there several hours early.

Right on, keep chillaxing
If you are not doing excursions nor want to see Ports then you are there for the relaxation and that's what Princess do well. Otherwise, it is frustration for everyone else who wants Ports and excursions.
We took a 7 day cruise on that ship last Christmas. All good, no issues. Price was very good.
Cruised on Regal last year. Great crew and cruise. They’ll get it lined out.
So did we...that ship goes through heck during a transatlantic sailings
No wonder you got a great deal. 😊
I always say there's no bad adventure there's just a bad attitude. Even the worse adventure is still an adventure and now you have a good story to tell and advice for others.
In the Caribbean doesn't matter where I go. Been there often just want to get away. Have fun
Don, you should have gone skiing in Banff.
I'm glad you made it onto the cruise after all the customs crap.

The bands are great

My favorite ship
We were on her for nye cruise. No problems,
The way they have been replacing parts. It will be a brand new ship once again.
A real life Ship of Theseus!
I'm booked on Regal later this year, so I hope it gets taken care of before then.
Enjoy your cruise…..sounds like this one will meet your expectations to relax and rest. Sounds like a bargain to me. Sometimes a cruise to nowhere is just what the “doctor ordered”.
Cruise line do maintenance like cable companies. Just enough to keep it going
Enjoy yourself! Everyone needs a break from doing nothing.
If it looks to good to be true it usually is.... as a travel agent Don i didnt think you would fall for that one.
Having sailed out of TX a number of times, I'm suspicious that the cruise companies don't put their brightest or best ships out of Galveston.
It’s not a good buy is you don’t get your entire cruise or get to as many ports as you are supposed to.

And the Regal ( the love boat) is the best of all the princess ships except the Sun and Star. What does that say about the condition of the others.
Don❤❤❤❤
Sometimes I cruise for some R&R. Take care Don!
I really wish there were shorter cruises out of pier 88 in NYC.
Last minute deals are great if you can work remotely, or are retired. I'm not jealous much :D Enjoy.
We are booked for the British Isles on Regal August 2025...I hope it will be fixed
Cruise in warm weather or be in show, let me think about that LOL!!!
A bad day cruising is better than a good day at work. LOL
Blame it on Carnival. Ever since Carnival took over Princess cruises, Carnival's policy of lack of maintenance is ruining what was a premium cruise line. I would not book a cruise on either of the companies with their records of late.
We were canceled for our Regal cruise for April 28th for “essential dry dock”. Disappointed of course but shit happens.
I still think it can only get better ?? Maybe ? Okay, let's see what happens.
We are on the Regal in April, our cruise was shortened. Doesn't bother me, we get a 25% account, and $250 obc. Bummed we will miss Scottland, but it's a good excuse to go back
Don i know your not a big Disney fan. But how about a review of the new Disney Treasure.
I think this is saying. Stay home and rest. God afful trip so far.
Don,with the luck you've been having lately, I'm not sure this is a wise idea!
Enjoy your time away
Oh Don, did you book one of those ones on the spreadsheet in Polar? They were good deals, but I wasn't flying from BC.
It’s an old ship, one that has a history of breaking down. I would have stayed away.
I'm booked on the Regal on December 21 this year. I hope it's fixed by then.
It’s going to be fixed in April.

Regal princess
We are booked 3/9

Roatan isn’t a port I would choose to overnight. A very unsafe port.
Don love your last few videos, but sad that you went from a broken prime Minister to a broken cruise ship. Also terrible with the airports have been doing, I'm hoping things start looking up for you. Keep up the good work❤
Your cruise sounds exactly like something we all need, once in awhile, good for you!
Enjoy the rest of your cruise 😇🛳️🛳️
I agree!!! Sometimes, you just want to do a whole lot of nothing!! 😃🛳☺
A really good deal aka free. Of course cruise is limping along. I would not feel safe. I hope all are getting a great discount to make this doomed voyage worthwhile?
Get back under your bed.
You never know what can happen.
Hi Don
I like Roatan
