A correction: Hajj is not a requirement for everyone but only for those who are able to .
Here a small clarification:
The annual pilgrimage (Hajj) to Makkah is an *obligation* once in a lifetime for those who are physically and financially able to perform it. It’s no doubt one of the pillars of Islam and Muslims should not miss the opportunity if they can.
About two million people go to Makkah each year from every corner of the globe. Although Makkah is always filled with visitors, the annual Hajj is performed in the twelfth month of the Islamic calendar. Male pilgrims wear special simple clothes which strip away distinctions of class and culture so that all stand equal before God.

Never have I witnessed such sincere hospitality and overwhelming spirit of true brotherhood as is practiced by people of all colors and races here in this Ancient Holy Land, the home of Abraham, Muhammad and all the other Prophets of the Holy Scriptures. For the past week, I have been utterly speechless and spellbound by the graciousness I see displayed all around me by people of all colors.
I have been blessed to visit the Holy City of Mecca. I have made my seven circuits around the Ka'ba, led by a young Mutawaf named Muhammad. I drank water from the well of the Zam Zam. I ran seven times back and forth between the hills of Mt. Al-Safa and Al-Marwah. I have prayed in the ancient city of Mina, and I have prayed on Mt. Arafat.
There were tens of thousands of pilgrims, from all over the world. They were of all colors, from blue-eyed blonds to black-skinned Africans. But we were all participating in the same ritual, displaying a spirit of unity and brotherhood that my experiences in America had led me to believe never could exist between the white and non-white.
America needs to understand Islam, because this is the one religion that erases from its society the race problem. Throughout my travels in the Muslim world, I have met, talked to, and even eaten with people who in America would have been considered 'white'--but the 'white' attitude was removed from their minds by the religion of Islam. I have never before seen sincere and true brotherhood practiced by all colors together, irrespective of their color.
You may be shocked by these words coming from me. But on this pilgrimage, what I have seen, and experienced, has forced me to re-arrange much of my thought-patterns previously held, and to toss aside some of my previous conclusions. This was not too difficult for me. Despite my firm convictions, I have always been a man who tries to face facts, and to accept the reality of life as new experience and new knowledge unfolds it. I have always kept an open mind, which is necessary to the flexibility that must go hand in hand with every form of intelligent search for truth.
During the past eleven days here in the Muslim world, I have eaten from the same plate, drunk from the same glass, and slept in the same bed (or on the same rug)--while praying to the same God--with fellow Muslims, whose eyes were the bluest of blue, whose hair was the blondest of blond, and whose skin was the whitest of white. And in the words and in the actions in the deeds of the 'white' Muslims, I felt the same sincerity that I felt among the black African Muslims of Nigeria, Sudan, and Ghana.
We were truly all the same (brothers)--because their belief in one God had removed the white from their minds, the white from their behavior, and the white from their attitude.

In my country indonesia, if you apply queue for hajj this year, you have wait 10-15 years after for your departure.

Yeah. It's not that you must sin first then you go there, but it is technically true that if your hajj is accepted by Allah, then your sins are forgiven and you become a better Muslim.

I've been there during Ramadan with my whole family when I was 14 and I never witnessed such amazing place like in Makkah and Madinah. Pray so we all muslims can peform umrah and hajj at least once before we die💛

While the Bible, Psalm 84: 4-6 says, “O LORD Almighty, my King and my God. Blessed are those who dwell in your house; they are ever praising you. Blessed is the man whose strength is in You, whose heart is set on pilgrimage. As they pass through the Valley of Baca, they make it a spring…” The sacred ‘spring’ of the well of Zamzam in Bacca/Mecca is well known...
“In it are clear signs such as the standing place of Abraham. And whoever enters it shall be safe. And due to Allah from the people is a pilgrimage to the House - for whoever is able to find thereto a way. But whoever disbelieves - then indeed, Allah is free from need of the worlds.” (Quran 3: v97)

It’s beautiful seeing all the different races and ethnicities come to Makkah. People literally come from all over the world to perform whether it be America, Europe, the Middle East, Australia, Japan etc. they’re all there for one reason and nobody discriminates against them. It’s peaceful and relaxing.
In 2018 i went to hajj with my mother from pakistan. Such tremendous place to visit.

But seriously it was the best experience of my life. Seeing fellow muslims with skin color ranging from the palest white to the amazing very black that it looked purple (my Senegalese sisters, you are stunning!) and any color in between, and socio economic background was truly humbling experience. It ignited my travel craze, i love visiting countries, and always made a mental note to try find a mosque.
Man, if only people can feel athe sweetness of faith (halawatul Iman),they must be wanting more.
I keep on missing the feelings,even though I've experienced only a little bit of it.

Simply going to hajj doesn't simply wash away a person's sins, as this guy implies. Nope. Even if one is too sincere for one's hajj pigrimage and one's sins is forgiven, then there are some major sins that can only be forgiven (if at all) on the Day of Judgement. Not on/in the hajj.

It will go back to the first things that he said..Hajj only happen when God invites you to his House.

U can have a million of dollars in your account, but if you are NOT healthy, then no Hajj will happen for you in that year..come next year, you are not guaranteed to be living for another year... maybe you will die before the next hajj...so it is God's will. You should pray to Allah and ask Him to make it easy for you to perform Hajj. Dont lose this precious time. You might not get a chance to perform later in life

Years ago I went to Mecca for umrah, and I still remember the feeling that consumed my heart when I was there. And every time I remember, I tear up and sometimes do cry. I miss it so much, the peacefulness, the way your heart just simply soothes once you place foot near the ka’ba.
I would love to have the invitation to hajj, to be able to cleanse my sins and to be able to be there and feel the peacefulness shower my heart once more.
If I’d be greedy with the wishes I want fulfilled, I want to go to hajj more than once in my life, I want to blessed with that.
I went there too. Alhamdulillah.

Going to #Haij proofs that all people are equal in #Islam regardless of color, status and language. More than that Haji injects love, peace, brotherhood and humanity in someone. Love to go In Shaa Allah😀
He mentioned "religious Las Vegas" at 2:41". Unfortunately that's how I felt due to unexpected behavior of some pilgrims when I was there in 2017. These people popped in and out from their five star hotel rooms to catch timely prayers but spent most of the time for shopping, specially gold and jewelry, and eating in fast food shops & restaurants. Hilton's, MacDonald, and big shopping malls around the grand mosque are gradually turning Mecca into more like Las Vegas. May God preserve the souls of pilgrims from all these distractions.

In hajj people from all over the world of all classes, backgrounds, races, ethnicities come together and perform hajj. Everyone is equal there and the spirituality is really heartwarming and changes a person to a better human being. Inshallah one day I wanna go to hajj with my family and then with my future wife.
I wish all the Muslims in the world can visit Makka and experience the serenity of the place.

Sorry but this guy needs to learn more about islam. Just because you are born as a muslim or have a muslim name doesn't make you one.i can understand a revert but he being born as a muslim and being ignorant about islam at his age makes me sad one such instance being him addressing our prophet muhammad (p.b.u.h) without proper aticate.i pray that Allah subhana wa'tala guide us all and prevent us from going astray. I went to Makka twice in my whole life. Once for “Omrah” with my grandfather when I was a teenager.. sadly my sister and I couldn’t pray at the time (that’s just our luck) I remember feeling sad and disappointed and a little embarrassed for traveling all the way to Makka to stay at some hotel xD despite all that it was so much fun playing around in the hallways with my sister. Ah the memories ^^
The second time was THE BEST DAYS OF MY WHOLE LIFE I was still in college when my father surprised me and asked if I’m welling to go for Hajj with my mother and my older brother and sister.. my younger siblings couldn’t go because we didn’t have enough money. I was so lucky this time ( being the second older sister ^.^”) I was excited and happy but nervous and overwhelmed.. and my teachers were amazing for excusing my absence from few classes. The Hajj was an AMAZING EXPERIENCE the best in my life really and I don’t know how I can thank my father for this opportunity. I’m so grateful.
May Allah grant us to perfom hajj in our life time.

“You’re supposed to go to Hajj when you have sinned all you’re supposed to sin” subhanAllah how are you Muslim and you think this way. If you’re not not at least attempting to worship Allah I do not think your sins simply wash away. But Allah knows best! And may He guide us all bothers and sisters!
I am not a Muslim but once in 1978 in my dreams I visited Mecca. But I am happy to be an athiest for the last several decades

You don't go to hajj to hit a reset button on your sins. However it has been told to us by Prophet Muhammad that all our sins are washed off like a new born baby after hajj. But those are sins committed to God. E.g forgetting to pray and fasting in ramadan etc. But if you have robbed someone, lied to someone, and hurt someone etc. Those sins still stand, because now you have involved another human being and the only way to rectify those sins are by making reparations and ask for forgiveness from the victim.
As muslims we should be aware that this day (day of judgment)is going to be real hard.
This cool mentality of making jokes will not help us.
May Allah make it easy for the believers.
