I don't really even know what to say when I hear Sohyang sing. I've never heard her equal, ever. I have never even heard anyone _like_ Sohyang. I think when she was recovering from her cancer surgery at age 20 and decided with determination that she was going to dedicate her life to singing for the dispossessed and needy, that God took notice of that and was so pleased He added extra musical and singing ability to her. (That is my personal explanation because there is no one else who could have given her such ability.) Like where did this woman come from? We often joke that she is an alien from outer space somewhere. But her abilities are so far above anything we have ever heard, we enter into a mental vacuum and grope around with no reference points. It is as if we are blinded by her _absolute mastery_ of all the vocal skills a human is capable of--and way beyond that as well. Anyway, Sohyang is simply dumbfounding and that is all there is to it. 🤷♂💖💖💖
By the way Lee, the great Nathan East (Eric Clapton's bassist for eons now) plays bass on this song. They apparently just met at this summer's "Soul in Seoul" music festival and though I don't know the exact story I believe he was so impressed by her stellar vocal abilities he asked to play on her new album and I believe it is him on bass in this song. 👀🤷💖💖💖
Few people on this planet can sing it like her. One more thing, she writes the lyrics ambiguous to audience. Just a ballad or hymn? Few people knows about it either.

It was speculated he approached her to sign with him but she put him off without an answer ! I heard her talk about how they met and the week in Tokyo and she seemed to really enjoy the whole experience with him! I think this song would be great for an OST or even the title song for a movie. And. so far, she's done it all just for the love of music and the hope that her performance will comfort and encourage even one listener. As you know, she also has her way with the settings, the lighting, the costumes, the ambience, so that period equipment is no doubt her artistry - again. This video all says 90's Power Ballad which, by the way, is her favorite venue and the era from which many of her famous TV Show performances came.
