What a song, what a band, what a drum riff, unassuming but massive complexity and talent. fooooooooook they are good....this is glasto headline stuff...
Met these guys outside Glasgow Barrowlands a few years ago, just before they went on- such nice lads who couldn’t have been cooler. Seeing them getting bigger and bigger is amazing. What a band
All those mixes are bad on UA-cam :( I don't know who is doing that, but its really shit for most of the artists who playing on Glastonbury. Even if they played good, its sounds bad on UA-cam
So good, so good, best band I've seen live in recent years. Last time I had this feeling it was for arctic monkeys in 2007. Future is bright Fontaines DC 🙌
I hope they get to play argentina some time soon... It would be so sick to see the Irish Lads down here... Love how they have evolved through all their albums, cant wait for August.
I noticed the inhale sound in the chorus is pretty harsh on the throat while covering this song - probably the reason Grian doesn't do it himself during long sets Edit: if someone's interested.. I tried my hand on an acoustic version of Starburster (on my channel)
It’s all about placement of the breath for texture. I’ve been learning this song recently and I’ve found a way that’s not stressing on the voice, and I’m assuming Grian has as well. Him not doing it live is probably a artistic choice to bring the band in on vocals
I was really looking forward to their performance of Starburster at Glastonbury, but the energy was quite flat! They were just phenomenal on Jools and Jimmy Fallon, still love them but just seemed a bit off :(
Same with I Love you, I was looking so much forward to that. But the extra guitar guy destroyed that full song with his acoustic guitar. 2022 was much better
@aarondoyle96 100% this. If you look at their European tour schedule, they played 12 shows in 16 days between the 12th and 28th of June finishing at Glastonbury. Anyone would be drained.
@@gavomcg Around when A Hero's Death got released they spoke in a lot of interviews about how the schedule would take a huge toll on them. Now here we are theyve only just finished touring Skinty Fia, new album already canned ready to go. They need a good break now before they tour Romance.
i think theyre still figuring out how to play their new album live, this is miles better than their first live performance of starburster but still not all the way there
I saw the vid for this a few months ago an it was a great jam .. these dudes are pretty cool don't know anything else about them but I'm gonna judge them on this one song an give them a ...there cool .
This year I could have seen Fontaines DC and Idles live...probably I preferred Idles in concert, but I'm pretty sure that Romance will be the best 2024 album.
I think it’s probably the way it comes across on streams/UA-cam, few of my mates went and said it was incredible live and didn’t sound like this at all
@@mmnbh7514 maybe because their big moment is getting overshadowed by idles on the other stage and broadcast live on the telly, so all the energy is elsewhere. dunno for sure though, only seen this one track from their set so far
reminds me of the afl - haircuts nall - certainly an interesting band - number in the band helps - I see a cross between pogues and early u2 (harsh on latter maybe)...
That guitar makes the tune, gotta turn it upppppppp live

Future headliners
They already are in Aus
@@L0X007I think they mean for glasto

It's been amazing to watch them evolve album to album❤
For real. They keep getting better and better with each record. It's nice to see their growth in these past 5 years.
Absolutely amazing how each album has evolved
Truly ❤
Agreed but their appearance is getting stranger and stranger
Guitars need to be boosted on this
You know best

@@mitchellg470 exactly, I've seen fontaines live over ten times, I know this isn't how they come across
100%
The mixes in the UA-cam version for this glasto were super off on all of the videos
So good, so good, best band I've seen live in recent years. Last time I had this feeling it was for arctic monkeys in 2007. Future is bright Fontaines DC 🙌
I'm 63 and I love it!
nice. now addicted to this song
Certified Banger!
Fire the sound Mixer please
Yes wheres the thumping beat
Yes!!! Boys In The Better Land was terrible sound balance.
Horrendous
This song is #1 on Sirius alt nation top 18 for last week. It’s only taken maybe 3 weeks to go from 16 to 1. 💕
This show looks like so much fun , I'm jealous !! I want to experience a night like this so bad.
this and favourite absolutely went off. one of the sets of the weekend
heard them first time in glasto 2022, great to see how they are after these years
Undoubtedly one of the best bands in the world right now, brilliant musicianship, awesome songwriting, god awful dress sense. Gonna be BIG !
Grian Chatten and those fontaines @ their highest!!! Poetic spoken words, by the NEON HIM!
Very solid live. Can't wait for the new album to come out.
I hope they get to play argentina some time soon... It would be so sick to see the Irish Lads down here... Love how they have evolved through all their albums, cant wait for August.
….
I just love them.
so excited to see these lads stateside this autumn! what a great band!
i love this song😩
The best band 💚
No
Great beat-hooked!!
The over exaggerated inhalations for air on the chorus make this song.

If your hurting yourself inhaling theres something up with you
@@conoreccleston-jy1kq there's a difference between inhaling and inhaling like you're dying from lack of oxygen
It'll be one for the fans to fill in once it gets well known.

They need to take a well-earned rest as they still have a long tour ahead
My fav band of all time...

Listen from 1:55-2:00, see the hand shake and voice crack. Grian seems nervous here. Poor lads sure their schedule is relentless

@@gavomcg 12 in 16 thats hectic
Great Band! I see them in rome this year.. very engaging
literalmente la mejor banda actual
Coincido. Junto con Diiv me parecen las mejores bandas surgidas en los ultimos años
Grian’s voice sounds tired here, hope he’s okay
I think it was a long bus ride... And they went on at 11pm
i think theyre still figuring out how to play their new album live, this is miles better than their first live performance of starburster but still not all the way there
Jaysus lads that's deadly 😎💪🏼
He’s getting his moneys worth out of that Kilt !!!!!!!!! 👍
saw them 2x. Luxembourg and Riga. Brilliant ❤❤❤
they seem tired in this performance! somethin is definitely missing
Their touring schedule is pretty nuts. No wonder Grians voice is shite in life performance atm :/
Absolutely agree. Jaded. The band were to be interviewed by Jo Whiley straight after and only Conor and Carlos went. I'd say they're fucked 😢
I was there and it was totally different in person. sounded ace
Amazing band, they’re a force of nature

It's impossible to judge a band of this magnitude by one song. Go listen to their catalogue and then frame your own opinion.

Insane
Cracking stuff
This band gonna be more big, and it gonna be legendary Ireland band🇮🇪
Amazing ❤
F’in deadly. As usual👹

Let's goooo
Best song of 2024
you must listen to NO music LOL
On the spotify it is
Idles certainly had more energy. Really like this song though.
Probably the worst I've ever heard them sound. I'm a fan but the sound is very imbalanced

Nice!
Fontaines‼️
Post production needs work on Glastonbury vids.
somehow they sound kinda..off or too slow with this song live. They should readjust it. A bit faster and more flexible
❤
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
adoro esse som, talvez um dos melhores do ano
The slight change in the drum line sucks the punch out of the song abit
Yes the bass isn't very good usually goof
Kasabian Club foot masterpiece revised almost 20 years later in a (genius) Jamie-T style
when will the vob video be shown boss... please show it
They sound wrecked sadly. Great tune though.
What a fucking song 💪💪
reminds me of the stone roses
Nothing like! Haha
Yes Manchester
Swear it sounded well better than this when I heard it live on the telly or am I bullshiting myself ??
Good music 2:25
sounds like a ian brown modern song lol
♥♥

Dude my two favorite bands played at the same time wtff? Idles was good really fucking good though
I wanna move like a new salamander
I feel some sound influence from Kassabian
a little bit unexpected massive attack vibes. yess great
Quality
As a sound tec, you need to fire the mixer lol
god i love this song but its not one for a live.
It does sound good on spotty
Easily best band in the world
🎉
2024 Korn ... Blind Era.. sorry and i love you Fountaines!
What is Grian saying at the beginning? Can’t make it out
This is our last song... this song is for Freddie Longsworth(?)
Никита Литвинков очень талантливый фронтмен!
Wir haben die zeit aus den augen verloren, wo wart ihr so?
This tune is proper, why them boys wear the same clothes everyday like they cartoons though?
Portishead vibes
great Kasabian tribute band!
Damon Albarn singing in Kasabian
Very underwhelming performance
Energy kinda flat
I bet you can’t run a mile

Starmer burster 😂

They need a new sound guy .... always sounds weird live
Lacklustre
Wheres the thumping bass
I fear they are saving music
Mellotron ..............:O)
What’s going on? Sounds terrible.,it’s mixed poor. Can’t hear the guitars. It’s so bad. Near A Capella
Disappointed with this
Me too it'd better on the spotify
