An incredible record of how Americans felt that day, how they had been living during the war, the relief, the grief of so many, how the troops longed to be home, how long they had been fighting. Less that 300 views of this - there should be millions. That time is fading into the dimness of history, but it should be taught, retold, and remembered by all. People today think that they're suffering hardships because of the pandemic, but they have no idea.

An Almost Unimaginable time and this Remarkable show marked VE Day and what a Profoundly beautiful reading of the Prayer for Peace at the very ending by Orson Welles .....The voice and the words we will never ever forget..... wisdom to use The gift so dearly bought with blood and toil and tears
I've not heard this before. It's interesting that the overall tone was that the war was over, but the Pacific had yet to be won. I'll listen to the VJ Day one next.

I think that is because I believe this is mislabeled and was actually broadcast in August of 1945
