Newgrange, aka Brú na Bóinne, was one of the top places on my list to visit in Ireland. It's a Neolithic passage-type burial chamber that was built around 3200 BC, making it older than both Stonehenge and the Egyptian Pyramids! On my first full day in Ireland, I took a small group tour that went there, as well as to The Hill of Tara, Bective Abbey, and Trim Castle. We even visited a fairy tree and made wishes!
I HIGHLY recommend Sacred Irish Tours (www.sacredirishtours.com/) with Liam Lawlor! He was amazingly knowledgeable, but more importantly, he is obviously passionate about the subject and made the whole day fascinating!

We still call them fairy forts and newgrange is held up concrete and steel fixing
