I was extremely nervous to go from 1-2 children because I found going from 0-1 turned my whole world upside down. My toddler is now 28 months and my baby is now 7 months and it has been wonderful. While pregnant, my toddler decided to stop sleeping (naps and through the night) and it stressed me out so much. I remember shortly before my due date having a little (…or big) breakdown and saying “I don’t know how it’s going to work!” My mom reassured me that “it just does, I don’t know why, but it just does.” She was right. It just works. You’re going to do an incredible job and the three of you will learn along the way. Take it day by day, take it slow and easy, and just give yourselves a lot of grace. Everything new seems daunting, but you’re a strong mama with a very supportive partner and a beautiful little girl. You are so blessed and even with hard days ahead, you are so loved!

My experience, 0 to 1 was harder than 1 to 2 kids. First pregnancy was 17 hour labor with epidural. Second pregnancy was a precipitous labor with no time for an epidural! Both experiences were great. Best of luck, Mama!

      @surlespasdondine 8 місяців тому

Oh yes! 0 to 1 was the harder one for me too. Our first was a high needs baby and we had our second 3 years later. Much much easier. Some people have an easy first baby, then have the second one quite soon after, and then the 1-2 transition might be more difficult.

You absolutely can do this! I went super neurodivergent this last year and dove deep into the research and all the different techniques before birthing my first little human. I was able to completely remove doubts (even though I’ve dealt with life long anxiety and panic attacks) and just be in the zone 100%. 1hr and 48 minutes later she was birth in 5 pushes at home, no tearing, and no complications. My midwives laughed because they said we actually didn’t need them, but she arrived right as one of them saw her head crowing. We most definitely are powerful, we do not need to accept the narrative that has been fed to us, and we can have the birth story we desire.

Baby #1, 10 hours of back labor, unmedicated birth, 4th degree lacerations. Still a very positive experience. I was exhausted for months after that birth. Baby #2, 3 hour labor in a foreign country where no one except my OB spoke English. He arrived at the hospital about 30 minutes before baby was born. Unmedicated, easy birth even though baby was 1.5 pounds heavier. Post natal, I wasn’t nearly as tired, even with a VERY active toddler in addition to the new baby. My biggest fear the second time was wondering how on earth I could possibly love another child with that crazy intensity we have with the first born. Happily, my heart immediately expanded with all that same wonder and love the second I gazed into his beautiful little face. I watched your video of Sage’s birth and, you were… are…a magnificent example of the power of a woman’s body doing what it is designed to do. And Matt?? OMG! He was the perfect birth companion for you. I have no doubt at all that you will rock this birth too!

Maaaaan let me tell you how much I love your videos. I am now 3 months postpartum with my 2nd little boy and just got back on my running schedule. Also resume writing now to get back out there with a new career. What I love about your videos is that you show the toddler upsets and I feel I need to see that to know that my kid is normal when he gets those BIG feelings. Better yet…to know I’M FINE. I get so overwhelmed sometimes. Lately, I have had to do a complete mindset change because I have both kids alone mostly while my husband works from home downstairs in the man cave. I’ll say this…make time for you as much as you can. AS MUCH AS YOU CAN. We don’t do daycare or a nanny right now so you’ve already got a win in your pocket.
I’ve enjoyed having this second chance to experience a little baby as this is our final child 😆 I do not want to be pregnant again. My labor was FAST. Like, he was almost a car baby 😆 be aware that second babies come faster. We got to the hospital and I was already 10 cm and my water broke at the check in desk.
Best of luck and to you and your beautiful family!

With my first baby I did an Accupuncture session when she was 1 week overdue and I still didn’t have any signs of going into labour. It was the best thing for getting me in the right energy space and head space for labour. It didn’t induce labor but it got rid of all my fear, I was feeling really confident after and highly recommend Accupuncture if you need a energy shift!

I was due October 4th for my second and he came September 15, lol😅 And even though I would say my second birth was a little more intense, it was also over WAY faster! So one thing I relied on more heavily this time was staying in a calm and meditative state, warm water (shower and tub), and sometimes I would say to myself "this is power, not pain" to help reel myself back in👍 Your first birth video helped me so much btw! You're amazing - you got this!💖

I have a 2 month old and a 2y2m old, pregnancy was tough I get you! I also agree I wasn’t as scared for first birth as I was for second. Probably because I didn’t know what is ahead of me. Terrible first experience, second birth a lot better so hoping it’s “easy” for you too. Definitely agree that transition 0to1 was harder than 1to2. Best of luck Nikole❤

He was born at 36 w 2 d and that day up until 1 in the morning I thought I’m just having braxtons. Eventually, he was born few hours later in the ambulance, within minutes of leaving home. We would have had a home birth if I didn’t get up to get into the ambulance. He will be one at the end of the month. Also my toddler is just a few months younger than your Sage and he’s been such a good big brother. I’m very excited for you guys, sending loads of positive energy your way 💫

The biggest advise I was given a day before having my daughter unmedicated was it be the worst pain in my life and I will get through it. I was born to do this. God gave us this physical and mental strength and in retrospect my husband and midwives were incredible support and kept encouraging me so much during transition and I did it!
I was suppose to get induced but it happened naturally on the day of induction anyway as I got two membrane sweeps prior which helped kickstart contractions! Very grateful.
You did it and will do it!! ❤And like you said if needed you know you've got pain management options.
    I'm guessing 38 -39 weeks. Birthday guess October 15th?

I would literally have an anxiety attack if I watch it. 😢

I had a horrible experience with my first labor and delivery and ended up with a c section and some PTSD. With my second, the doctors gave me an option for an elective c section so I didn't have to go through the pain and problems again. But, I decided to try again and had a very pleasant and quick VBAC. Complete 180 so try not to worry too much, life is very unpredictable.
I gonna guess baby #2 will make their arrival Oct 6th. Good Luck!

I feel like the transition from whatever number of kids to the next number of kids is only dependent on how the baby's demeanor is. 0 to 1 for us was great but my oldest is easy peasy. One to two rocked our world because our second didn't sleep and had colic. We just had twins back earlier this year and even though we had two babies at once they're both the chillest kids ever so the transition wasn't as hard.
    You've both got this! It's a muscle memory.😂

So excited for you, Nikole! We're struggling with potty training HARD. How long did it take for Sage to initiate on her own? We have our daughter in underwear except for bedtime and the timer-method works most times, except for #2.

Have you thought about getting a postpartum doula? They can relieve a lot of those anxieties you are talking about 😊 You will do great!
