Meet Amita Radakichenane. Smaller classes, more personalized attention from professors and exceptional opportunities in STEM have made sure that this future dentist gains a deep understanding of what her career will demand.
Community and opportunity have defined Amita’s time at Adelphi. She found she could conquer such daunting subjects as organic chemistry through the help of role-model professors committed to her success.
Amita also found a campus where opportunities abound. In her first year at Adelphi, she and a classmate came up with a business model under which dental offices could produce their own crowns, bridges and dentures, rather than outsourcing to laboratories. They developed the plan and won first prize in the Adelphi’s Business Plan Competition, which is organized every year by the Robert B. Willumstad School of Business.
As a student in Adelphi’s 3+4 program, Amita is earning her undergraduate degree while setting the path for her doctorate, meaning she’ll be career-ready and applying for jobs sooner than her peers at other schools. And she’ll always have the Adelphi community at her back.
