      The prawn suit is closer to a mech than a exosuit considering it's limbs are driven by robotic servos and not the user moving their arms within.

      it is interesting that you need this suit in order to survivie the pressure of the ocean yet in the vaccum of space - which is essentially just the exact opposite force - they are somehow able to wear lightweight cloth suits that allow the astronauts to move freely without restriction. hmmmm

      +Matt1Up vacum is 0 atsmopheres, 1 less than normal air. 1000 feet is over 31 atsmopheres 30 more than normal air.

      there is also cosmic radiation and small tiny space junk that travels at high speed that can easily penetrate you're space suit so there new kind of hazards.

    There are lots of exosuits in existence, they've been around since the 60s, its a nice suit but defiantly not worth 600k, especially for this kind of engineering, joints like that are nearly 80 years old, with the idea going back even further.

      The technology has come a long way since then. The electronics in this model alone can easily push the price tag that high. It's also a prototype. The pirce will most certainly go down once they are in production.

      This is new, those suits were designed to be diving suits, not supposed to go lower than 1000 ft.

      james townsend and it took that guy 12 min down and 15 hours to get back to surface,not to mentipn the 4 years training for that one dive..... ADS suit allows anyone with no saturation techniques to go straight up and down with no stops and stay at the bottom for much longer as well

    Why didn’t they use these type of suites on that blown oil rig well in the Gulf of Mexico a few years back ? The Horizon they use ROV to cap the well head took 2 months.

    Sat diving is sooo cool! I feel disconnected from society. I get to see things the normal human doesent! In all reality , it's very dangerous. I always have a fear of decompression at deep depths. You actually implode! Very bad.

    Stupid question but does anybody know if a human is able to descend to 1000 feet, assuming he has the breathing abilities via tanks or would you NEEED this suit?

      I think so, the water pressure at that depth will crush you.

      @@frostedpancake3882 So not exactly, you CAN descend to 1000 feet underwater. World record is 1090 feet. however it takes literally 15 hours to ascend from the depth at that point.
