Hey ! You made it to Canada ! An American spending time with Germans in Chinatown in Vancouver sounds like a very Canadian thing to do, actually. And you found our hollow rocks! LOL. Only in Canada, eh! The first statue shown in your video is our Canadian hero, Terry Fox, a young man who set out to run across Canada, on one leg, to raise awareness for cancer. He made it 3339 miles (I translated it from kilometres for you), before cancer hit his lungs and he died at the age of 22. Over $500 million dollars has been raised for cancer research through the annual Terry Fox Run. Thanks for visiting and making this fun video ! Cache on !
Thank you for your kind comments. Yes, I learned much about Terry Fox because of the virtual there. I mentioned it on video but the video was getting a bit too long for my taste. I hope to spend more time in Canada in the future.
My wife and I are from Seattle and we started geocaching there in 2004. We love that part of the US so much, it is so beautiful there. We went to Vancouver and Victoria Island many times for geocaching. It is so much fun to see you find many of the geocaches we have found as well. Unfortunately, the weather in the northwest is so cloudy and rainy, we decided to move to Southern California where it is sunny 340 days of the year. We absolutely love your Northwest Tour series oh, it is so much fun! Wish we could join you
I love it there too. I would love to consider moving somewhere along the Oregon coast. I don't know what is worse the cold and snow of Minnesota or the rain and clouds of the PNW. I think you made the right choice, but are right that whole area is super beautiful. Thanks for your thoughtful comment.
I had the great pleasure of speaking a little German with many of your friends. It's wonderful to see them again. Thanks for sharing this epic adventure.
It's Vancouver, BC! Or more commonly known as "Where every CW show is filmed"! Yaaay! The Kid was embarrassed when she saw herself. Maybe it will be like Ground Hog's Day... but with The Kid. :P If I had known about the magnetic cache you found in this video, we could've taken you to a really cool one just like that not too far from where we live!
I like the format for these episodes JJ. Looking great, and looking forward to the rest of the series. I wish you guys had been able to find my cache at "Smilies for Everyone" - ironically, someone was standing right on top of it at 6:20. ;-) Anyhow, glad you all enjoyed our home town, and look forward to your return!
There sure are a lot of smilies in Canada, eh? Now that you have Cached Canada and visited their Vancouver, it is only fair that you visit Vancouver, USA and compare. We are the first Vancouver after all ;) Can't wait to revisit GCF on you'r next Cache Tour video.
Ha! That share a coke with GeocachingVlogger at the end was epic!! You take the most amazing adventures. I haven’t been to SeaTac in awhile. Looks like that Airport had some upgrades. I am definitely jealous of your Seattle/Vancouver Trip. I saw another video from someone else with an Ape Tunnel. Need to experience that as well.
We cannot believe you lived so close to Canada and never came up before. We do shower you know. In the snow eh. We've been to B.C. but not Vancouver yet. You must come to Niagara Falls. Too bad you couldn't make it earlier. Great tour. Looking forward to the rest...oh Terry Fox! Did you know he only made it to just east of Thunder Bay in Ontario for his cross Canada run? He was, is, a Canadian hero.
we found caches we've been looking for today that we started to look for a week ago :O so happy!! if you want to see how a geohunt looks in sweden check us out! we want to travel just like you!! one day :D
Let me get this straight, you are an American ambassador to a large group of Germans, caching in north America. You take them into Canada and visit China town all in your first episode. Did I miss any other country involvement in this episode?
Not sure. The rules are not super specific when it comes to those types. According to the updated guidelines the is a new emphasis on a lid as well as weatherproof.
I don't think a new one could be placced. As I understand the new guidelines, the log has to be in a container and replaceable with could altering the container; so slim jims are possible, as long as they are in at least an envelope type container.
