Bonita cove has always been best for variety of species and numbers, but small sizes for me except for one legal butt and a 3lb Bonito from a float tube there by my wife.
Nice vid homie. Shout out from the East Coast. I used to live in Mira Mesa back in the early 80's. Mission Bay was a hot spot back in the day. I hit the subscribe button right away when I saw you using artificial.
As always loved the video I've fished every inch of that bay and have landed over 50 species all from shore my all time favorite is the point at De Anza cove you have to go through the rv park and walk out to the point through the de anza cove ghost town lots of big rays and vinas huge yellowfin croakers and smooth hounds fatty rays of all types caught my pb yellowfin crosker at 19" inches out there
The grind is real for sure. Dana point Harbor got me a dink barred sand bass, but tough for sure. I wanna try J street but its far for me. Gonna keep trying though. BTW - I like the new logo...dope!
Yo Bearz, glad to see another Fiesta Island vid. One of mine fav summer spots. The spot for me is the cove right after the jet ski area across the camping area when you first drive in. I've caught bonefish, corvina, croaker, small hali and spotties over 16 1/2 to 17 inches with drop shot Berkeley gulp minnow 3 in smelt color. I know it's not summer but that area is good. To let you know
Yes it's been slow for me too in mission bay, and I'm in a kayak even on a troll and drifting I cover a lot of water. J st. South bay across to silver strand is the only place it's been good for me in the deepest spot there. Keep up the good work making videos I appreciate you and your personality it's much appreciated.
When MB gets slow, I like to throw light t-rigged grubs and jerk shads. Gotta be slick coming through all that grass and drop shot is just too noisy. 1/4 ounce max or you’re gonna be out there gardening.
I was at the Hyatt in Mission Bay all this weekend and I tried all kinds of cut bait and artificials and the only thing I caught anything on was a 4" green and white Gulp swimming mullet on a drop shot
Same exact thing happened to me and my homie from a skiff at MB. I lucked out and caught a mackerel at the very end of the session. It came home with me. Lmao.
Man look at all that black sand on the shore.. I wonder if that's just iron from the boats or if that means there's actually gold in that beach. (gold an black sands are really close in weight and tend to be found in the same place)
I fished mission Bay bright next to sea world like literally under the bridge and done fine barracuda bass but I only use a croc. I'd caught barracuda on many cloudy days
I was just out there today. Caught a hali on a drop shot and caught 2 halibuts , not legal but fun. And we did a bait and wait with ghost shrimp got a sand shark and a couple of sting rays.
Dude it's been so slow. I fish shelter from my kayak and it's been SLOW! I fish there for the past year and they ain't biting! It's that winter bite. Let's see some trout vids!!! ✌🏻👍🏼
I've fished every inch of mission bay go out with 12lb fluoro leader tie on a double dropper loop or dropshot with a 2" Berkley gulp camo sandworm and twitch your way in and bring one or two heavy setups for bait n waits with squid or shrimp and enjoy
From the toilet, I’ve been skunked outta ski beach last two outings on the kayak. Been throwing everything in the bag. Can’t wait for spring time.

Fishing! Sometimes catching! Always great out wetting a line.

Welding your bait, rad.

It’s been tough in the Southbay too.. up and down Long Beach to cabrillo!! Been struggling the past two weeks
Northwest Fiesta Island is the spot around there but I use a sand worm
Went to ski beach on Sunday morning. Started fishing at 6 am, caught 1 halibut 8 inch. And 1 spot bay bass, both on drop shot grub, that was it.
Man look at all that black sand on the shore.. I wonder if that's just iron from the boats or if that means there's actually gold in that beach. (gold an black sands are really close in weight and tend to be found in the same place)
I was skunked last week with 5 dink pancakes in 11 hrs grind.... but did a good come back with 7 different species this week...
I fished mission Bay bright next to sea world like literally under the bridge and done fine barracuda bass but I only use a croc. I'd caught barracuda on many cloudy days

I know how it is! I got skunked at Harbor is. 2 weeks ago. Stay bent, fish on.
Try sweetwater channel...park by Harley Davidson and walk a bit by the trolley and freeway bridge . Spot-ties all day
White gulp minnow drop shot is what i used to get the two halibut.

Ive been trying shelter island, harbor, and mission bay and haven’t had any bites. Trying all sorts of stuff for a couple months and nothing.
I've fished every inch of mission bay go out with 12lb fluoro leader tie on a double dropper loop or dropshot with a 2" Berkley gulp camo sandworm and twitch your way in and bring one or two heavy setups for bait n waits with squid or shrimp and enjoy
@@jacobaskins4322 I’ll try that. Thanks for the tip 👍🏼
You haven't caught a fish in 2 months. Just put a piece of anchovy on a hook to throw it in the water
Nice try bro I am from a small town in Texas better luck next time
My last three fishing missions have been ending up in skunks still having fun got to put in the work to get the f****** rewards.
Nothing in a jig, but got a horn shark doing bait and wait
Got an extra kayak you can show me around let me know if you hit me up
What about adding some pro cure on the plastic ?
Don't like to use scent. Especially when the bait I'm using already has scent.
Dude, how did you fix that keitech? What is that tool?
Cobra Pro-Weld
@@BearzG Thanks! Those Keitechs are nice but not durable at all.
