    How long do your mixed paints stay good in those containers?
    Are you mostly mixing on the paper? Or on the palette?
    I’d love a shorter version of this in real time with more explanation about what you’re doing.
    I’m fascinated by all this color mixing!

      Hi Emily! The paints stay fresh for several weeks, and if you spritz them with a little water every now and then they should last pretty much indefinitely.
      Here I’m mixing mostly on the palette and only a little bit on the paper if I’m not happy with the colour yet.
      Thanks for the feedback! I might do one of these in the future then.

    I truly enjoyed watching this process. 🥰 Thank you for sharing the details of creating your color palette. I’m looking forward to seeing what you create in your new space on larger canvases. 💛

    I love your process. I have tried to paint like your style but I find my finished paintings to be not so great and it boils down to colors mostly. This video should help. It seems almost fool proof. We have similar taste in colors. I like the size of your sketchbook. Looks perfect for this type of thing. Which one is it?

      Haha, I dance a little too when I edit the intro 😂
      I’m so happy to hear that you have learned things from my videos! I find it so fun mixing colours and seeing what other colours they make. It’s also a great thing to do when you don’t have the headspace to make a painting, but want to do something.

    But how do you know what paints to use to actually get that color in a bowl ? I'm confused.

    • @jclosestudio
      @jclosestudio  3 місяці тому

      Hi Suzanne! Do you mean the ratio of the colours that go into the mix? I just add a bit more of each colour at a time until it looks right. I'm not super precise with it. Let me know if I misunderstood!

    I have a question about your paint tray - is this paint squirted directly on a wet paper towel placed inside a tray? Tell me more!!

    • @jclosestudio
      @jclosestudio  Рік тому +4

      Hi Kerri! I use what they call a “stay wet palette”. It’s a tray (can be any tray) with wet kitchen roll (or any kind of fabric that holds water) soaked with water, and then tracing paper or baking paper on top. On that paper I mix my paints. It helps them stay wet for longer. If you put another tray on top as a lid they’ll stay wet over night even.
      So it looks like this:
      - baking paper-
      -soaked cloth-
      -tray-

    I love your method so much. When I do it, I waste so much paint! How do you do use so little? Do you just take one little dab for every test and then there is still enough to work with when you get to white? Silly but I want to be able to do it like you do.

    • @jclosestudio
      @jclosestudio  9 місяців тому +1

      Thanks, Denise! I guess I do just take a little dab. That's all there is to it!

    Hola, me gustaría saber que diluyente recomiendas para que las pinturas acrílicas sean más fluidas???. Enhorabuena me encanta tu trabajo.

      ¡gracias! Yo uso un medio de flujo acrílico, similar al medio de aerógrafo: www.jacksonsart.com/jacksons-acrylic-flow-medium-500ml?___store=jacksonsart_en&acc=2d00f43f07911355d4151f13925ff292
