- Uncle Si is pretty sure that AI has impersonated him after one of his stories goes awry. Godwin wants to revamp the full-service gas station industry and John-David puts his anti-social tendencies on full display at the grocery store. Martin recently experienced restaurant service from a waiter who is both a cat and a robot. The boys come up with a plan to communicate with Si since his house in the boonies still doesn’t have phone service.

I hate self checkout and boycott it whenever I can. If I’m buying a bunch of stuff the stores I shop help bag it have cashiers and sone help get it in the car. Customer Service is not dead.

There is a few problems with self check out. 1. I don't work for that store. 2. They didn't train me, so if something sneaks pass me, they can't complain. and (most imporatnt) 3. It takes jobs away from the public. You want catch me in a self check out line.

I like the personal service and interacting with another person. Maybe give them a smile or compliment. Make someone else's day a little brighter.
I refuse using self checkout, will go to different store before using one, things are expensive enough so give me a person to check me out.

I worked in full-service gas station in the 60s in Nederland Texas we put gas in, whisk broom your floor, checked tire pressures, cleaned windshield, and checked oil, even if it was a $1.00 sale.
When I was a kid we would go to the full-service station in Washington IN and my mother would say, "Ray, here is a check. Can you not cash this until Friday?" The man said, "no problem". Now that was full service.
I have four children all grown up. The Drive In movie was a great experience. It was cheaper for one thing. Second, being out in the open with the kids and my wife was just special.
If I really need a good laugh in my life, you guys always come thru. Haha. There are some serious podcasts, but usually I stay laughing with you all. Thank you

I'm with you, Godwin; full-service gas stations. I *pay to have* cashiers/baggers at checkouts. This society is trying to do away with people & their jobs. Some (you, JD?) seem to prefer no in-person interaction. Si, *you* of all people got very few words in on this podcast ~ can't get anywhere near a K-Love award THAT way....just food for thought. Agree 100% with Martin. There should be a discount for working for free and giving the store half of my income to buy their stuff.
I'm with you 💯 % Besides, half the reason I go to my Dollar General is to spend a few minutes visiting with the cashier and other regular customers that shop there, plus the people who work there are genuinely nice people, and are very helpful.

One of our local stores (Martin's) here around Pittsburgh.. has about a 6ft robot.. that rolls around cleaning the floors and videoing the store.. 💯🤣🤣.. they've had it now for 2 or 3 years lol
To add to your Walmart self check out discussion, Drinks should be cheaper in the drive-through as well because you’re not getting free refills as you do in the Restaurant.
We still have full service, gas station in Oklahoma, Tulsa, Oklahoma to be exact
I work at a grocery store, I don't use self checkout unless I have no choice. When I shop at Walmart, I actually drive 5 miles to go to a store that gives you a choice for checkout. The Walmart across the street from me only does self checkout.
I refuse to shop at Walmart. There's only one checkout with a cashier, and it is only available certain hours of the day. The store is enormous. It seems like every time you go there, they've moved inventory around, and you can't find what you want or anyone to help.
We still have a full service gas station in Middletown, IN - I try to only get my gas from here. Days Full Service

Down in Florida back in the day, we had little drive up stores. They were called Farmstores. It was like a drive through food place but it was doorways, not windows. They had milk, eggs, ice cream etc. They were great, but unfortunately had to close them down due to them getting robbed! We stopped there every Sunday night after church to get a half gallon of ice cream 😊

It would just be a few cents or so. Soda is actually very cheap. If you go through the drive thru and get a soda. They love it because the profit margin is so high.

Godwin has a point! I think they should also sell stuff in the store and bring it to you! Example: you want drinks with your gas or just stop by to get snacks they bring it to you!

I absolutely hate a thief. That said maybe I missed an item once or twice at the self checkout. What does that make me. It was not deliberately done, but I noticed when I was in the parking lot putting my bags in the trunk.

Johnny D just saying if you think about how much time it takes to fill your tank. Versus stop every other day or whatever just to put 20 30 bucks in. Time you spend stopping. You’re costing yourself more time really than just filling up. And the self checkout 100% on board with Martin. I will stand in a line before I will use self checkout. The other thing is yes a lot of people don’t want to work. Self checkout taking jobs away from people.
Always enjoy your show fellas. Great laughs every time. As a suggestion, you guys need fidget spinners cause you're going to ruin those headphone cables twirling them the way you all are. Those are small wires inside the cable sleeves, and they don't like being rolled around much.

I thought I was smart one day. My toddler wanted to play in his sand pile that also had a swingset over it. I hooked a dog leash to the belt loop on his pants, and the loop under the swingset leg. A let him play. My mom who lived next door called me to come see about him, and he had pulled his shorts off, left them hooked to the swing set, and was headed across the yard to her house lol. Needless to say, I never tried that again lol
