You said everything we needed to know about what went wrong in the first part of the video !!! 163amps wot with a 150amp esc !!! You need 20% over the wot peak try a 200amp next time ! Sad to see it go down.
Great build-up to the flight all the specs and everything. I spat my wine out when it went in... his post crash reaction was priceless! Ha ha. Nice one Pete.
lmao - hope it was a cheap wine alex, poor old ian - this was his baby but he didn't have a back up pack just in case this happens - it didn't sink in for him for several minutes im afraid - hope alls well your end mate ?
Had a similar thing happen at our club. A beautiful tamjet f16 bit hard, im still a 2smoke in the morning kinda guy, but have never built a model without a redundancy after my first loss. Was a shame, nice model and good speed. Crashes are always painful, however they allow us to improve our modelling techniques and skills for the future. Love the videos, hope he can come back with something better the next time around.
Ive never had luck with these fast models with aerodynamics meant for speed and little lift. I crashed my Multiplex Bf-109 and said screw this, I'll stick to my Easystar and Cub. Cant imagine losing a model of this quality, but that is the nature of the hobby, sometimes like real life u just bite the dust.
Well that's a shame. I saw a few weak points, esc, cooling, etc.. All the common issues with compact installations. Flew good and fast. I've always told my students to never fall in love with your project if you plan on flying it. Let the love grow from many years of flying.

I totally missed that he said that about the amps & ESC rating. I agree, that was part of his issue if not the main cause of the crash.

many thanks deathcon
I feel your pain , 3rd flight on my new F-16 yesterday ESC went out and was a total loss of plane and battery !

Great plane, great piloting, expensive lesson but very well done video. You guys are alright!
That one will need an industrial buffer... sorry to see that, was fun to watch all the way to the end.
thanks matt
That looked great and sounded magnificent. Real pity. )-:
Indeed!
Expensive way to play lawn darts, commiserations gentlemen. 👍
thanks R
Needed a bigger ESC, I know they cost a lot but it is worth it in the long run.

thanks tbird i agree
Hi!! Wingspan? Weiht?? Please.
sorry but ive no info
@@tbobborap1 Thanks!!)
We fly and learn as we go, such a shame that was a great little plane
thanks chris
I reckon I'd have a go at fixing that, bit of a wizard with the old fibreglass! Might struggle with battery though
lol - thanks
I've got one ,very fast on 4 cell but a real handful extremely vicious tip stall . Has to land very fast needs very flat field
Ouch! Never give up and give it another go.
yep your right darth
The stock plane not built for that power, eg tiny carbon rods on elevator ..aerlerons taped on very cheat horns
I know the feeling...
Sad end to thrilling flight. Phoenix from ashes of defeat expected?
i doubt it wolf
Like ' not for the crash, just for the impressive flight preceding falling out of the sky
thanks, the model had potential for sure
Whoops 😬
Very interesting plane shame about the crash but I think the edf looks fine..... Put it in a fresh plane and away you go
thanks mark
Should of invested in a watt meter, could of saved all of that sadly.
oh yes
tbobborap1 shame because it looked mental, I hope my habu is as quick :-)
Hope he continues with another.
Ouch ! That was nasty.
lol
