The cost of the marketing or the promotion, including the discount is always included in the final price. The 5%, 10%, 15% discount with a code from a youtuber is already paid-for in the price you pay. If I order something in bulk from a marketplace, i.e. digikey, I will get a discount similar to that. Same thing happens here, if you give an idiot a code to promote and sell, ie. 1000 screwdrivers, you will get a discount because that's something like a b2b 1000 screwdriver order. The discount code is just psycological manipulation for the sheeps to feel that they get something in discount. Someone will argue that this thing costs 100 and I bought it for 85, that's 15 off the original price. Sure, but the cost of the promotion will get you eventually. Someone paid for that promotion, so down the line you will have to pay that 15 that you didn't now. The next generation of the product will have to be 115 to offset the promotion cost. Anyway, I never buy those "discounted" products, because I am not that kind of a victim. I tend to skip discount holidays, because the purpose of those is to make you overspend. If you just spend money on something when you are sure that you need it and your choice is because you need it, not because it's on discount, then you will end up wasting less and less of your money.
