Bro.. love the pigion loft . I was trying to get into that as i have to buy birds at the trainer and it gets expensive. Trapping is super fun!!
I noticed you cking the band on one of the birds. That's not a commie bird. You can go to the arpu web site and find the owners and see if they want them returned.
The ferals shouldn’t give your pet pigeons any sicknesses or diseases but if you overcrowd or cause any stress, be prepared for an outbreak. Canker is probably more common in young birds. It is a yellowish gunk that basically destroys their respiratory system
Add perches to the holding pen you don’t need the buckets at all on the ferals as long as you aren’t keeping them to bred . I keep homers and have a 12 by 24 and a 8 by 12 loft if I wasn’t active in the racing side to wouldn’t need half of what I have but put some perches up on the feral side you’ll be good . You should get into racing locally be good content for the Chanel .

Ya might even still wanna make an entirely separate loft away from your pet birds cause just the wire wall might not be enough to keep the disease away if any feral birds have something. But loving the pigeon trapping again

You should have a carry box/crate for the birds when you want to reset trap. Putting them in a plastic bucket is cruel.

I like to race and breed homing pigeons. Before I used to go to Dairys and try to catch a lot of them to sell them. They will go for 5 to $6 each.

I have ground up pigeon meat and my wife has no idea the meat in the burrito is pigeon
Chili powder, onion, garlic , cumin, bacon grease, salt and chopped jalapeno. Adjust to taste for heat. Same recipe for goose burrito.

Depends on what the band has on it is whether or not u are able to find the owner some use custom bands others use nationally recognized club bands
I hope you can be on my roof! I got four pigeon nests with eggs in them! The roof guys has destroyed their nests once, but they keep coming back and laying eggs, I can clearly hear them flapping and chirping at night.

Hey Bobby it's been a long time since you catch pigeons on rooftops. I don't see a problem from selling those feral pigeons, no need to explain, catch them and sell em all.
Add a block to the ledge of that one trap and put some frozen peas on the block it they have already found your trap they just need that block for a beeter ledge then they should walk right into your homade trap to get the corn the peas will get them to the block then the corn will do the rest ..
you should put a cellular camera on ur traps. send ya pics when u get one. save ya some checking

Your pet pigeons are really close to the feral ones. Some diseases are carried in the dander. You need to move them away from your pet birds. As they are currently housed , you may as well let them all live together. I’ve been a pigeon fancier for over 30 years.

Maybe put a tight fitting piece of wood in the buckets and some straw so they are not standing on the round of the plastic bucket. Just my thoughts .

I think what you do is not fair. They are free lovely birds. They are so smart and meek . You should not deprive them of their freedom just to have a business. Even the way you hold them is not careful enough.
