lot of respect for harvey!! no one else would run up to the judges and plead for another round!! what a guy!!!

I always thought that Puissance rules allowed a maximum of five rounds of jumping but the judges stopped the competition after only four, causing big disappointment for the fans who wanted Harvey and Graham Fletcher to go head to head to decide a winner. Harvey was, therefore justified in making his complaint. Does anyone know why the judges stopped it.

The practice jumps arent even required, but a good rider will use them if they need to get their mount relaxed & in the mood. Harvey utilized this aspect brilliantly.

Do you know Harvey's true story ? Harvey was / is a Farmer's son. Harvey built his chicken sheds with his bare hands. A "hard go'er" / "hard grafter" (worker), as we say in Ireland or Britain. Paul S. (GER) built his buildings himself too. All changed now but some of us European's didn't get it "easy" like east coast American's. The young show jumping riders now in IRL & GBR just want to hop on a show jumper. You have to work, work, work to get to the Top no mater how much Talent you have.

I agree. That horse was a bloody great rabbit! Harvey nearly as pissed as me! The horse Graff was a belgium mixed with the training of himself, Harvey and the Good old Cantilevered saddle, with padding non slip thick and tight triple girth straps. The horse was trained to leap controlled way. slow hard work. Takes a long time to train the back end to conformation with the horse's front end strong high poll supple it up along the bridge muscles of his neck. The technique is the Capriole, the most difficult and dramatic leaps into the air, used by Spaniards, training Lipizzaner whites. Big strong arched neck. He could have broken his leg, if he had fell, running like a goodun up those metal stairs to kick off at the Dutch. Not the horse, Harvey!!!

Harvey Smith is not a good person, I worked with him in England, he is horrible to horses. He beats them.

    •  4 роки тому

There is tremendous animal abuse in the horse industry. There is a lot of money involved and very high stakes for them. The horses are commodities. There is no sentiment attached.
