Interesting idea.
I would not hang a tool by it's shaft. You put unnecessary pressure - the weight of the tool plus it's cable - on the angle grinder's crown gear bearing.
I could watch your Jig building videos all day if I had the time.
Bad advice im sorry. Dont mess with angle grinders or produce selfmade makeshift additions. An angle grinder can go up to around 12.000 rotations per minute, making it one of the most dangerous tools in the shed, dont mess with it and put things on it yourself. One bad kickback or fault in your contruction and you can lose your face, i know two guys who learned this lesson dearly.
Never mind the damage such a tool could do to your workpiece. Also the high speed will burn the surface.
A dangerous tool even when in good condition and used properly. I’m certainly not looking for additional ways to use my angle grinder, quite the contrary. If there is another tool that will do the job, I’ll use that.

Not to mention all the dust flying around. I prefer to spend money on a good palm sander with dust collector to work and breathe safely.

Random Orbital Sanders are much slower than grinders for good reason.
Too much speed will ruin the workpiece and is VERY dangerous.
This mod is clever but not a good idea.
