Melaika, thank you so much for the kind words! We love sharing adventures in cities like Las Cruces. Hope you'll continue on the journey with us. 👍 -Howard
I've been praying for y'all. God knows who needs healing. Miss you. It's not a perfectly wonderful Sunday without the Newstates. Please take care, I'll still be here when you get back to your videos.❤❤🙏🙏😊
Hello my name is israel i was the artisit at the santis creations i wantes to say great video and i wanna thank you for featuring my art in youre video i hope you had a good stay in las cruces and if you ever come back come see the full live paint job God Bless You
Hey I’m from Las Cruces! And I never thought I’d see it as the subject of a travel vlog but as y’all can see, it’s such a great place. I moved away about 16 months ago but I’m planning on moving back at the end of the year because I miss it so much.
Thanks for visiting Las Cruces. I am a life long resident and it is fun to see Las Cruces through others eyes. There are so many good restaurants you could spend a week here eating and not hit the same place twice.
I totally agree, Kathi! Quite a food scene in Las Cruces and absolutely worthy of a return visit. Hope you'll continue on the journey with us! 👍 -Howard
Las Cruces born and raised, I love my city and I love my state and I'm so glad you've been able to put a spotlight into our part of the country! Next time you come through you have to try Days Hamburgers and Andalés Dog House!
So fun to see the doggies enjoying the sands too; Scout was doing some “serious” dog-digging lol. You guys - I just ate breakfast and those meals just make me want to chow down some more. Sounds like an amazing area to visit. Thanks for sharing with all of us. Safe travels and stay well!
So happy you all came out and visited our beautiful lil city. Super glad you all got to enjoy Farmers market there is always great things there food, music, crafts, but my favorite is SANTIS CREATIONS! Such a talented young man, very genuine, and he has such a Love for what he does. If you all are out this way ever again plz dont hesitate to stop by and he just might give you a lil something you will never forget😉❤God Bless you🙏
Hope you're enjoy Houston, though! We loved our visit to Las Cruces and already have tons of recommendations for places to check out on our return. Great area to explore! -Howard
I lived in New Mexico for 7 years. Started in Alamogordo then Las Cruces. I Just moved to South Carolina 1 month ago. Living in New Mexico was a culture shock coming from Maine but now that I've left, I miss it.
While Dripping Springs may have been dry during your visit, make no mistake that during a rainstorm the arroyos fill up quickly and cause dangerous flash floods. Several people lost their lives in a rainstorm close to Aguirre Springs, near the Missile Range in ‘78. It is said that if you ever come to New Mexico, you will return. Safe travels. Signed, almost a native Las Crucen.
Major Christmas Vacation / Clark Griswold vibes with Howard waxing that sled! Loved White Sands in this video and the information was really interesting.
Love seeing the fur kids have such fun. Scout made me laugh! I always get hungry when I watch you all. I need a hint for where you're going to next..lol!
The food looked delicious!! No wonder I’m always hungry after your videos.😉. Doggy zoomies!! The best. That looked like so much fun.🙂. The dunes were absolutely beautiful. The colours were amazing. The Dripping Springs were also beautiful. Loved the Deer. Thank you for this wonderful video.🙂
We all had a great time, dogs included! It's so much fun to be able to share these experiences with the whole family. MAJOR reason we love RVing! 👍 -Howard
Imagine, if you will, White Sands after a 2" massive thunderstorm. I did this several years ago. The areas where you drove were inches deep in water. The dunes were totally refreshed and pristine. And as it got dark, the lightning flashing from the storms made the entire sky lightning white. Normally as this happens, the sky is white, and the ground is dark....but not at White Sands. The sky is lightning white and the ground is reflecting that white light on the white sand. It is a surreal "BEAM ME UP, SCOTTY" experience as you are completely surrounded and enveloped by white light!
You forgot to show us the buried treasure Scout found! So cute! We are putting New Mexico on our list of places to visit after watching your videos, had no idea. Keep on having fun and travel safe!
Barbara, she was digging so much, I think SCOUT forgot about the buried treasure! Haha. Definitely plan a trip to New Mexico, and we'll have more to share in several episodes soon! 👍 -Howard
I'll show this to people who wanna checkout the area or the ones that say there is nothing to do! 😄 Oh man! I'm sad I missed you guys at the market! This video was so good. Nice job 👏
I've driven through Las Cruces 30-40 and only stopped in hotels for the night going from Houston to LA. Never knew it was anything but a bump in the road north of El Paso. Well You learns something new every day...
Ohhhh, goodie, goodie gumdrops. A Newstate Video. It's been a hard week. My beloved husband was officially diagnosed with dementia. There's medication to take now. Back in the day, there wasn't. I need this video.❤
Oh my goodness, sending you so much love. We're so sorry to hear that, but also thankful that you can find a little comfort in the hope of the medicine. That is great news. We'll be thinking of you two! Glad we could bring you a little joy today. ❤️ Hang in there!! Xoxo
Brad, we love eating the food almost as much as we love sharing it with all of you! I always recommend eating before watching our episodes, haha. 👍 -Howard
'I like when there are things.' 🤣🤣 That farmer's market looked incredible. I would've been browsing at the Hissin Kitten for sure. 😉 It's really nice that Scout can accompany you guys on adventures now. 💞 I didn't even know that White Sands existed until I started seeing bus, van and camper people doing vids on it. Looks like so much fun. We're cheap though. Did they have any of the used sleds available? 🤔 Thanks for taking us along. -Troy & Aimee
And there's a space movie museum approximately an hour north in Alamogordo. They have an amphitheater, customarily you plan your trips during an IMAX that you want to see. Like the tornado one that they put together on discovery channel.
Troy & Aimee, there weren't any used ones available at the shop, but we gave ours to a family walking in (got to pay it forward, right?) and hopefully they had a great time! White Sands has been on our list literally since we hit the road in 2018 and we're so glad to finally cross it off during this trip! Thanks as always for watching and we're glad you're both along for the journey. 👍 -Howard
Man…another great foodie vid😱👍👍. You better start showing your workout routine bc something is working right as you guys look great…if I ate that burger 🍔 I’d be huge 😱
Salud is okay. If you went just another minute down the road to Andale restaurant, you’d find the best green enchiladas you’ll ever eat. They even have a 2nd location across the street(same restaurant) that you can bring your dog to. Enjoyed the video though.
You could have got those plastic sleds a lot cheaper in Alamogordo at Walmart ....and Alamogordo is where I consider the white sands park to be 😁 And of course its not really sand at all.....the first time I went i had no problems....but the second time i must have inhaled to much and had non stop uncontrollable coughing for a week
Y'all missed out on some of the most epic experiences and food in the Las Cruces area. Salud's looks like a decent place but the food definitely didn't look representative of Las Cruces Cuisine, let alone New Mexican Cuisine. La Posta was a good choice though. iLa Nueva Casita Cafe on Mesquite Street is a must visit. Chope's, while not in Las Cruces is one of the most epic places to eat and drink in the area, you have to sit in the bar for the real experience. El Sombrero is a great place with really good food. Aguirre Springs is a great place for hiking and picnicking.
I live a good distance from there..I'm in a town in SE NM.. would love to go there. If you ever need tips for great places in or around Chicago I can let you know. I spent my life there until I moved to hot as hell
Flying to Hawaii 🤷🏼♂️. Definitely a cool town and market. The food looks great too. Can you rent a sled? 25 bucks for a few passes it pricey. Looks fun though ✌🏼
I'll be honest I think the key is actually the WAX more than the specific sled. The sand causes too much friction without it. Go and find some wax for skis or boards and you should be good to go! 👍 -Howard
Jimmy, she is fully recovered and doing great! It was a long and difficult treatment, but absolutely worth the effort and expense. Scout is a strong and happy dog now! 👍 -Howard
Who Dey Howard🐅 You had me worried for a minute with the talk of chili capitol of the world of which you speak. I think that you know that Cincinnati is the chili Capitol of the universe but I must ask: Is it Skyline 🏙 or Gold Star 🌟 for you??
@@NewstateNomads Who Dey Howard. I used to live on the other side of the river in Erlanger but moved away. My brother moved back to Florence Y’all though for awhile. I used to prefer Goldstar but a Skyline went in just down the street so I’m in Camp Skyline now too. We enjoy your videos each week & they’ve really helped us during the pandemic. Keep up the great work!
@@bigjimslade6250 thanks so much for all the kind words and we're glad you're along for the journey! I'll eat Gold star (they actually have a solid veggie chili option since I can't eat red meat anymore), but still prefer the spices of Skyline. 4way onion, I'm in heaven! -Howard

Israel, you have such an incredible talent! We are thankful to have seen your work in person. 👍 -Howard
It's nice to see that you picked up some of our rich history here in Las Cruces.
Such a lovely video of my hometown of Las Cruces and the favored , childhood adventure of White Sands! Love it!
Born and raised in las cruces. Thanks for the love you showed my city. Never seen a video from you two before great energy and personality.
I never expected to see a youtube video that shows off Las Cruces, I've lived here most of my life and I'm happy you had a good time being here :)
Our pleasure! We love hearing from hometown viewers. Hope you'll continue on the journey with us! 👍 -Howard

The dogs sledding and in the sand is just too much cute to handle! Thanks for all the great tips of things to see in The Land of Enchantment.
Thanks, Tara! Lots more to share from New Mexico, too! 👍 -Howard

Park ranger hikes/informational tours are the best :)
