To all those who argued for the southern "heritage":
We've been letting you keeping your heritage for more than a hundred years. You always say that the "heritage" isn't all about slavery and racism. And so in good faith your flags flown and your statues stood. In good faith we waited for your "heritage" to evolve. Sure, no historical period is perfect, and there are always some good in the past and in the present.
But we've been waiting and waiting and waiting for over a hundred years. People of color are still being lynched. People of color are still being mistreated when they step into the wrong neighborhood. People of color are still being murdered by your police.
So after all those good faith, its time to change the approach. Sure, there are good parts in your "heritage". But your heritage doesn't seems to be able to evolve just like all the normal heritage of this country. We used to commute with horses and carriages, now we transport ourselves with automobile and airplanes. But, you still call the police when a black man visited your neighborhood.
