I know this is an old post but there is one key piece of information you neglected to include. When you put the housing on the unit where should the ice crusher mechanism be placed. If you let gravity drive it to it's lowest point you will never have crushed ice.
Question I have ice in my refrigerator but it doesn't dispense it. I put a bag of ice in there. Do I need for the water to be connected for it to work?

My ice maker works just doesn’t dispense ice cubes. Motor turns but get to a point and sticks. Should I replace this part?

@sharondavis205 I took it out to thaw it. It is working again. Probably just a temporary fix. New units costs around $100 on Amazon.
