Please tell me I’m not the only one who gets emotional hearing this and watching this?? It takes you back to an amazing carefree time where you thought you had all the time in the world
Not at all, this song has gotten me twice! I was three years old when this movie came out and have distant memories of it. Rather 2013 or 2014 it was on Netflix and I watched it. Very emotional when the credits started to roll. Fast forward to the other day, saw this on Prime and watched it again. Completely forgot about this song and it got me again.
This is the first Christmas Movie I remember ever seeing as a kid with my parents. I was only a few years old when it came out, but I vividly remember the movie. I'd never seen it again until a few years ago, a few years after my Dad had passed and when this somg/scene happened it got me out of nowhere. Feeling Nostalgic at the same time as really sad is a strange one,
It’s December 2023 and I’m still listening to this! This song gives me every Christmas feeling I could want. It always brings such nostalgia to my childhood. I hope it does the same for you. 🎄🎄🎄
The 80s were the best. This particular year of 2024 I am experiencing so much nostalgia and yearning for my childhood years. I hate the world now. I just want to go back 😢. How old are you if you don't mind me asking? I'm 45 now. I feel sad thinking about the 80s now. We had it so good and didn't even know it.
80’s Christmases were simply the BEST! The best Christmas movies. The best cheesy but wonderful music. God I miss the 80’s. Nothing has beaten them so far.
@@florencevillanueva1598 It really is just "Santa Claus" like it says. That's silly, so you'll see "The Movie" appended to the end everywhere but in the film itself. Note: NOT The Santa Clause, the film everyone thinks you mean when you mention Santa Claus The Movie
Every year I come back on December 25th to listen to this song. So underappreciated. You never hear it on the radio or anywhere else. More people need to hear this.
I haven't heard it in decades but l remember it well from the 1980s. Great Christmas song. If Rock Around the Christmas Tree can make it to No. 1 after 65 years (it was released in 1958), there is hollow for this one. Start requesting it on your local radio station
I don't know why, but this song always gets me teary-eyed. My chest is filled with overwhelming emotion and the tears just flow automatically. I'm not sure if it's sadness or longing. 😢
I'm so dissapointed in this generation they did not aprreciate this film but in our times this is treasure when we see santa claus and deer as a sign of giving.
He Was One Of The Best To Be Our Santa Claus,!! Now Don't Get Me Wrong, Cause I Still Like Tim Allen's Version, But This Was My Santa Claus For Along Time & Still Is One Of My Favorite Santa Claus Movies, Besides The Christmas Classic Cartoon Santa Claus,!!
To all the younger generation, this is the true song of Christmas right here. The films been with me for 30 years, and should be with every kid of today for 30 more years to come! RIP David (a.k.a the best Santa)
Rest in Peace: Dickie Arnold (1918-1990) Burgess Meredith (1907-1997) Aimee Delamain (1906-1999) Dudley Moore (1935-2002) Don Estelle (1933-2003) John Hallam (1941-2006) John Barrard (1924-2013) David Huddleston (1930-2016)
I'm forever amazed at the power that a song has to bring forth overpowering emotions. Movies can do that as well but when you hear a certain song it unleashes a flood of memories, sadness and longing unlike any other medium. Time can be cruel, we have the most wonderful, magical times of our lives as children, then we grow up and those memories are suppressed by our day in and day out lives. But it only takes one song to bring it all back and we long to be back there again and it makes our hearts ache because it isn't to be. This is one of those songs.
It made me teary-eyed upon listening to this song. Growing up and spending Christmas with family in the PH is different ❤. How I miss Christmas in the PH 🎄🥺🙏🏻
I was born in 1983 and grew up with films and music like this. Songs like this remind me of my childhood and what Christmas should be about. Although this should always be the case. Be happy that everyone is doing well. Enjoy the time with your family and friends.
I come back every year to this... this film and song by Sheena. It takes me back to my youth on Christmas Eve... it got me soo excited for Christmas Day. Great cast, costumes and the wooden toys that was true of the time. RIP David, always the true Santa in my eyes, and a film that will live with me forever!
Here I am, back again after watching this film for id say the 30th time religiously every xmas eve… I find myself transported back to that child I once was waiting for Santa. I miss it so much. God I love this film . How this song never gets airtime is beyond me. Happy Xmas 22’ everyone! ❤
Happy Christmas! I love how we post again and again as the years go by. Did Santa Claus the movie have its problems? Yes! Is it the greatest kid’s Christmas movie of all time? Absolutely! I was born in 79 and was about 5 when this came out. Started watching it religiously from about 1990 every Christmas Eve or close, then stopped as life happens but have been back for the last 10 years with my now 15 year old son and yes…. He told me we’ll be watching it again this year. Lol Merry Christmas to you my friend. Happiness in the eternity of UA-cam comments.
Today was the 1st time I've even seen it. But it is amazing. He's such a great Santa. I'll be adding it to my list of Christmas movies to watch every year from now on
Both this song and this movie makes me feel nostalgic about something in my past .. My eyes always get teary everytime I hear this song,,, and this movie Santa Claus is the last movie I watched with my Dad! Yes,, he died before New Year... That's why this song and Santa Claus movie means a lot to me... I miss my Dad... 😪😪😪😪😪
I'm a 36 year old man and this song just brought tears to my eyes remembering the beautiful childhood Christmases I had watching Santa Claus with this song playing at the end credits.
Best xmas movie ever. Have watched it every xmas eve for like 25 years or more. The scene with Joe looking in the McDonald's window then burping on the can of coke still makes me chuckle.
Me too. lol... Sad thing is, nowadays though, people would whine endlessly about them showing Mcdonald's & Coke as "shameless commercialism," and such. (Even though, they're very brief in the movie.) I think in a way, they actually added some realism.
I remember going to the theatre to see it with my Mom, aunt, and cousins back in '85. Then we ate lunch at McDonalds--happy meals with a coloring book from the movie!

I was five it was my first trip to the movie theater and it was so magical and it takes me straight back to that sweet innocent little girl totally amazed by what she just saw and heard from this movie it’s my most favorite movie ever made for Christmas 🎄 😊
Same here. It gets me bad every time whenever I think of this because it makes me think of my father back in 2009. It was in late November and listening to it, let alone seeing the movie after over 20 years, due to the fact my father was diagnosed with cancer, it got me emotional the whole night, even woke up sad the next morning. Lord rest his soul, for I miss him dearly.
I sing this song over 20 years ago in my school Christmas playlist and I’ll never forget how everyone stood up clapped and cried!!!! I never knew how powerful the words were until now as an adult 😢😢😢😢😢 this brought back sooooo many memories and now I’m crying and my kids looking at me crazy! 😂😂😂
This song and this movie put me more in the Christmas spirit every year than any other song or movie. Both are extremely underrated. So thankful I discovered them and I was not even alive when these came out.
I watched this as a kid in the 80's back when everything was in Betamax format. probably one of the most dramatic Santa Claus movie that I watched and my favorite because it has a different vibe or message that it presents.
