    I have been using the caevex for about two years now, often to work on my deck. One of the things I love about using the longer blade is it enables me to make perfect, easy cuts on 4x4s. They come out square every time and it's almost effortless. I will never use a sawzall on a 4 x 4 again.

    Fantastic video think there is a very marmite feel for the karvex in the uk and think most of it is down to set up and blade.

    Great video, but I had a difficult time with your audio (in the video) it would go from very low to very high and I checked my computer a few times to see if it was one of my settings, but I was at MAX. I don't know if anyone else had this issue but your mike seemed to be being moved close and then far away in this video. Maybe it was my computer but I had a really hard time following you because of the audio problems. I wonder if you had that same issue upon review?

      you would think that a brand that sells high end and thus expensive tools would invest in decent camera and record gear. something with a fast focus lens or something... a side from that good content and advice, as always...

      I also have the issue with the audio. It’s terrible. It’s made worse by Sedge constantly going from whisper to normal voice level to practically shouting. I wanna watch but the audio literally gives me a headache. 😔

    Another great video guys, thank you. I just recently purchased about 10 of your power tools from Woodcraft, and these videos really help. Very informative, but two things I did not quite understand, one was the pendulum swing adjustment, you mentioned more aggressive cut, but I don't get it. The other feature I need not understand was the A-speeding, you mentioned it's like speed level 6, but I didn't get the part about cutting at an angle and the plane? Also, I would love to see a video the accessories kit for the Carvex, I did not purchase because I did not understand what each accessory was for.

    • @debandmike3380
      @debandmike3380 8 місяців тому

      honestly I don't think he knows the pendulum purpose. The idea is that it only cuts on the up movement and then pushes the blade back on the down movement which keeps it sharp.

    This is AWESOME!!
    I NEVER KNEW THAT much about my Carvex!
    ...I DESPERATELY need to know how to do CIRCLE cuts. I got the accessories for the circle, but don't know if it will cut that tightly. I need to cut a rounding into the inside of a corner... BUT, because it is in the inside of boards, I don't know how to properly pin the circle cutting hole while it is suspended at board height (board to be cut) above the supporting surface.
    Please advise.

    I have a friend with a Carvex and he called me as he was having trouble inserting the blade into his new tool.
    I checked the tool and had to agree it was difficult to get the Festool jigsaw blade into the chuck - it seemed too tight.
    After reviewing videos it is clear the system should be easy to use - but it took 20 minutes of fiddling to get the jigsaw blade to insert.
    Once inserted the blade locked with a simple twist.
    Ejection of the blade was also not as expected - the blade did not spring out when ejected and required a tug to remove it.
    I hoped that after a bit if use he issue would resolve - but it did not.
    Is there an adjustment to overcome this problem or should the tool be returned to Festool for inspection?

    I bought my barrel grip Curvex late last year and its been a life changer. I dont use it as much as I do the TS55 but definitely a great addition to my festool collection.

    Did not know I had to adjust the carbon blocks to guide the blade or how to set the plastic guide by pressing into blade. Thank you for these trainings.
    One question: What are the 0,1,2,3 settings (right below the power switch) used for?

    Hey @Festool or Sedge, On my Carvex, I have never been able to get the clear dust cover to slide down. Is there a magical pinch/twist/pry spot? I didn't see anything in the manual or any of the videos I've seen.

      The large piece on the front of the tool? Hold it facing away from you and use your thumbs to push it down. It's stiff from the factory. You'll see the one in this vid dropping, it's worn.
      If you mean the little splinter guard, that's covered in this vid

  • @Sisu2280

    Don't buy the barrel grip. You get less than with the d grip and it's the exact same tool.
    Take a look at the d grip, your hand goes through the d handle and you can hold it just like the barrel grip. Festool designed it this way!
    You then have the option with the d grip variable speed!
    It's really a no brainer... I'll await the comments from those without a brain who bought the barrel grip and have realised their mistake.

    This microphone setup is worse than before. The good, the second camera was only a few times in between the main camera and 'what we are supposed to see'. That's an improvement. Starting around 28:30 talking about the accessories you 'and the cameraman' are wiggling from side to side during closeups. Very difficult to watch. You don't want me to get seasick, do you?

    • @adriaan7627
      @adriaan7627 4 роки тому +1

      I think the microphone is better in suppressing the high pitch when you get too excited and start yelling. But that's not sound quality. That's compensation for overexcitement responses, that you have thought yourself, which (others and) I don't like much.

    The Allen key: 'Why is that not included and conveniently put somewhere into the body of the Carvex? I have one but not found it in the package of the Carvex. (If the Allen key is included, than where can I find it?)

    • @jamescermak3630
      @jamescermak3630 4 роки тому +1

      I found my Allen key to the Carvex under the black tray insert. Lift it up out of the systainer and see if it’s there, that’s where mine was. Hope that’s where yours is.

    • @adriaan7627
      @adriaan7627 4 роки тому

      James Cermak Haven’t found mine but as you found it, it must have been there as well. Better Festool had included a dedicated storage fixture into their design like in their plunge saw. Next revision perhaps?

    • @jamescermak3630
      @jamescermak3630 4 роки тому

      Yes, I agree hopefully the new version will have the Allen key storage on the jigsaw itself.

    As a festool fan i have to stay The carvex is The worst tool i have. Despite numerous trips back after i brought and setting up The guides the blades still overheat. Wish I still had my Bosch gts 2000

      I agree with you on this, I have the 18v one and it’s garbage it vibrates terrible.
      And the blades overheat even when set right then bend backwards, never seen this on a jigsaw before.

    • @fotopdo
      @fotopdo 4 роки тому +1

      Yes, and as someone pointed out the camera settings were a little dark.. and it got corrected. The other issue is that they are using pretty specular lights and sometimes the camera person blocks the beam. They could add some bounce lights or add some panels in the ceiling to add a soft overall (non directional) light to the scene.

    did you forget to pay the electric bill? why do you have to wait 15 seconds for it to go back in the parked position. It should go back every time. it's interesting how you make excuses for the obvious flaws by explaining them to be a feature, another example being that you can't see where it's cutting with all the guards in place. so a little bit of rambling and then quickly onto the next topic. look it's obvious that festool doesn't put a lot of effort into certain tools they'd rather put their time into the more expensive tools this carvex has not changed in over 10 or 15 years, but they'll put out a new track saw every year within enhanced features. and the one function impact driver they try to stuff in every box with every tool they can which also hasnt improved since its first version.
