- A short film about an iconic smooth bore flintlock arm designed for the grenadiers à cheval de la Garde impériale of Bonaparte Napoleon. The short carbine (musketoon) is a modified version of the An IX musket, redesigned in favor of the elite of the mounted troops.

Sounds a lot better with a real bullet instead of the only black powder shots during reenactment. Most veterans during the Napoleonic wars must have had hearing problems. Standing near the big cannons during our battles already is impressive just imagine the real stuff.
especially with so many guns firing, imagine the horror.
not during the battle itself, if you survived the hailstrom of shots in the battlefiled, you would be in that bad of a shape because of the adrelanine rush, but afterwards? horrible
i mean it only got worst with time
Merci pour cette super vidéo !
Vive la France et vive l'Empereur ! En ce 2 décembre anniversaire d'Austerlitz et du couronnement de l'Empereur.

This, is up there with the best channels on UA-cam, for classic and Historic firearms.
What a wonderful tease! I hope there's an episode behind it. Thank you for your attention to historic, as well as ballistic, accuracy.
I like these a little more than my Pedersoli Cavallerie IX carbine, but they're very handy and deliver a pretty good amount of power for their size. A lot of fun to shoot.
that's smooth and a smoothbore carbine is rare in this day. keen on this
I love love love flintlock carbines, there's just something about their proportions that make my brain go "oooh, pretty"
My favorite gun channel.
why no words? you are always so replete with history and context.
Awesome Cap! It's been a while since I've seen one of your videos, they are Always Great!
Awesome Musket, I would like to see a comparison between the accuracy of the 1777 carbine and the pedersoli 1798 austrian musket. Great video again!
Love that! Always a beautiful gun channel with a beautiful Hungarian English Language
Gladly, I'm watching one of your videos, been a while. Hope all is well with you and your family during this holiday season. Wishing you and yours a merry Christmas.
I love the smile after shooting 😊
I really needed this video now, I REALLY did..!!
Ich liebe es.
Das Lächeln nach dem Schuss kann ich absolut nachvollziehen
she is beautiful firearm. thank you for sharing this one with us.
Absolutely love your videos
What is it with BP and old guns? They always seem to produce a grin from ear to ear that you don't see so much with modern guns... and I'm not the shooter...
The oldest guns are often the most fun!
Very nice thanks for the clip👍👍
VERY COOL , Bet she shoots well with buck and ball too 🤠👍👍
You know she does!
The usual, for the era, 'variable' powder charge (depending on how much you put in the pan) & a ball/barrel fit like a pea in a bucket(!) Astounding how anything could be hit beyond 25 metres.
I have a Brown Bess ship's carbine that is similar in size...but .75 caliber! I use it as my officer's fusil, reenacting the War for Independence!
Great!!!
hello, good afternoon, can i use this video in a YOutube video about Abd El Kader vs French Foreign Legion?
They're used by the Chasseurs a cheval and all of the Napoleon's cavalry whenever they go dismount
And the sapeurs
The mute episodes, Muted Winter Series.
such a cool weapon hope he hunts with it
@Hitmeup_capandball thank you
Is it a replica or an original?
Where did you get it from.
I'm committed to finding some other reason that both of my smoothbores seem to shoot to the right....but deep down I know it's the shooter.
Don't flinch at the spark!
Это историческая вещь,или реплика?
That barrel has thin walls doesn’t it?
Attila the Hun approves this video. 😁
What diameter does your ball bullet have? I am trying to find mold for my 69. caliber smoothbore musket.
.678 Lyman mold
lesz valamikor még magyar videó vagy ne számítsak erre
Why did YT take down your austerlitz video 😢
Dear Adam, it was removed on request of the organizers.
@@capandball thats sad it was a real pice of art :D
@@AdmiralPingu I loved that video as well, but the organizers considered it unauthorized commercial use. I offered them the full video without trademarks to use freely but so far they did not answer. Hope it will be uploaded at least by them, as it is a good promotion of their event.
17.5mm is that around 68cal for us Americans?
yep it is
Yep .

Slow in reloading, you will not survive in war.
Why not load with #4 shot and use it for hunting peasants??
honestly, the musket ball is better for hunting peasants... you can also kill their livestock with it better than with the shot.
that being said, I personally like lead BB sized shot for Pheasant... but that's something else entirely.
Tis is a cool channel. I have two pedersoli shotguns. Where did you get your pouch
