We went in November and had a great time as it was relatively quiet (still warm!). Probably better for swimming during the summer (May until October), but also more crowded! Try to stay until sunset because that’s when most people will have left
If anyone is planning to go to pamukkale with a tour agency, be aware that there is an extra 200 lira to pay for entry to the site. Some tour agencies will not tell you this for some reason, ours luckily did. Your tour guide will likely collect this money on the bus so when you get there, you can skip the queue. If you don’t pay the 200 lira to the tour guide, you’ll have to purchase it yourself at the site and wait in line. There are also extra fees to get into cleopatra pools and for lockers too which you can pay your tour guide and they will give you the key.

Thanks for sharing…. I have watch a lot of your videos and I am actually going to turkey in June. I staying in Capp, bodrum and ist. Which city would you say is the closest? I would love to visit while I’m there.
Thanks for watching! We stayed in the nearby city Denizli. But we'd definitely recommend staying in Pamukkale town itself because then you can walk to the entrance from there. Unfortunately we don't have any recommendations...
Great video. Love the succinct, beautiful presentation, including the 3D landscape map cuts which makes it much easier for non-natives to figure out where everything is. You guys have potential. Wish you much success.

Hello. Incredible video. Thank you for sharing. Can i ask how much it costs to rent a car to caves? How far it is from the center and are there buses that go there?
There definitely are no buses there as it’s super hidden! Not many people know about it. A car rental is pretty cheap, you can probably rent it from Denizli or another big city for less than 30$ a day. It would be better to use the rental car to visit both pamukkale and the caves though as the caves are just a small part (takes maybe 1hour total to visit) so wouldn’t rent a car just for that
Hey guys, thanks for your video! We enjoyed watching it. We are thinking about going this weekend, January in Turkey. The forecast is for super sunny, but only around 15 Celsius. My questions are is the water cold or can you find hot pools to mitigate the cold and do you know if they allow water shoes? Thanks in advance!
Awesome! You’ll enjoy it! That’s a lot colder than we were there! Well the hottest of all pools is the little running stream on the side of the pools! They look like little jacuzzis. Other pools were lukewarm but doable once you’re in them. 😊 getting out again is the hardest part 😉
Hey guys, thanks for sharing details as always. Wondering what would be the cost for a full day tour from kusadasi to pamukkale, and for other tours ephusus and underground caves for cappdocia. Any comments?
It's hard to say what the prices are right now for Pamukkale! But shouldn't be more than 50 USD from there. It's a long drive from Kusadasi though! For Ephesus, that's very closeby and you could probably find something cheaper or get there even by public transportation and then save big. For Cappadocia, you'll have to fly most likely as that's really far. You can check tours via our link in the description!
If you want to sit inside the thermal pools do you recommend taking towels and a change of clothes? is there a place to change or wash after you sit inside the pool? what's the best strategy to walk around and sit inside to enjoy the sunset?
Thanks for the video. I am planning to visit there next month .. Do they have buggy or shuttle service there because there are elder people travelling with me.
Hi. I'm sure you guys brilliant research before going here. Can you help me with one info. Is this visit worth during December? I have an extra day at Antalya
It will be a bit cold there in December (and sometimes rainy). But it's definitely possible. For swimming it might be difficult. We were there at the end of October and it was already quite chilly getting into the pools
Can a senior with knee pain walk without trouble to the thermal pools? My mother has a hard time with hills, steps and inclines and I’m unsure if she would enjoy the experience.
It's possible, but you'll need to take your shoes off once you get to the travertine pools. You can access via the ancient city of Hierapolis so you don't need to walk up the hill! It's relatively flat from the entrance there, and I remember seeing some carts driving around for an extra fee as well! enjoy!
It might be a bit cold at that time! also check for opening hours during that time as it's the low season. We stayed only 1 full day in Pamukkale itself and visited other sights nearby on the second day. It's enough to explore!
Hello there, quick question. Did you have any issues traveling with a Drone to Turkey? Is some kind of authorization needed or paperwork for a Drone with 249 grams? Many thanks in advance.
What is the name of the nearest town I can fly into to experience balloon ride as well as a few hours in the pools? Can you bathe comfort ably in the terraces?
The nearest airport to Pamukkale is Denizli. You can spend a full day at the ruins / pools. For the do so you mean Cappadocia? Because that’s definitely still a bit away and you would need to fly into Nevsehir Kapadokya Airport
You can walk around the area with shoes and take pictures of the pools, but the pamukkale white cotton castles area itself you can only do without shoes. It’s also wet as there’s water flowing.
