We all know Alain was the most beautiful man ever but I thought he gave a really good performance here too. Underrated performance.

This movie was way ahead of it´s time in so many ways. For example, every time Delon takes one step in order to appropriate Philippe´s life, we see him eating something right afterwards, in a visual metaphor of his hunger for wealth and status. That´s just one example of how brilliant this movie is.

Alors, je suis française comme lui, mais je ne suis pas particulièrement fan de cet acteur. Je reconnais que c'est un acteur prodigieux et furieusement beau mais ça s'arrête là. Warning for those who haven't seen the film, this edit is full of spoilers. It was great as always, congratulations Kristin!
As much as I love Matt Damon as an actor, I feel like Alain Delon perfectly captured the essence of Tom Ripely like the suave and cold nature of the character, my only criticism of the film is the ending. In the end, ripely successfully got away with everything in the end.
I like the ending. He's the genius, just like professor from series "Money Heist". Same people usually don't get caught.

Очень странно, что герой Делона дважды уничтожает героя Роне как бы из зависти к его благополучию и талантам...Либо актеры назначены неверно, либо неверно истолкован сюжет повествования. Кому же может завидовать/с кем соперничать непревзойденный Делон/его герой? Смешно! Наверное, такая расстановка актеров соответствует пожеланию красавцев, уставших от навязанных амплуа, ну а как верить увиденному? Клеймо красавца , увы, ко многому обязывает. Ну не ноги же себе ломать))))
Что Вы имеете ввиду под "дважды уничтожает героя Роне"? Просто деньгам завидует.
Кстати, расстановка актёров была изначально другая: режиссер хотел, чтобы Делон играл роль богатого наследника, которая потом досталась Роне, но Делон не захотел, а захотел негодяя. А вместо Роне должен был играть тогдашний муж Брижит Бардо, жалко, что не смог по каким-то причинам.
