Yeah, I will say I got a little too excited about the seasonal events and forgot to take into consideration the fact the game is still in its alpha stage. Core components and steady algorithms are much more important than limited updates, which is what causes confusion for me when all those limited items exclusive to only some users exist, not to mention the fact that 75% of the assets are already made, there's really no excuse to slack that hard. Seems the only thing they care about are zombie balances since you're literally only changing like 2 numbers in code.
The dev team also keeps delivering false hope and excitement, such as showcasing halloween items but deleting them right when the update hits, as well as suggesting TWO BOSSES and delivering ZERO. Unacceptable.
Also this video was recorded at like 2 AM so that's why my voice was so raspy lol
ya they also keep doing these release dates for a update and then delay it like just stop making release dates just release them when the update is ready

I can see why place rebuilder left r2da. He must of been under this stress struggling for years and years and now that the new devs are experiencing these problems PR is probably disapointed
I watched the GoSinister video and PR stated it was due to religious reasons, but this too definitely had to be a common factor.

@@Goldfishbroha It wasn't religious reasons. The guy was nearing his 30s, had been developing R2D since 2012 and got tired of developing a kid's roblox game. I imagine something you do for years would get tiresome.

They need to focus on adding new and the old campaigns to the maps; that is what gave R2DA a lot of its replayability.

I really miss how event items were hidden from the public before the event released in r2da. I also really hope that the r2d devs make a schedual for updates so they wont be so bland.

I personally believe that Studio Lucis as a whole needs to work on more of the actual in-game permanent features that were in r2da, rather than events, and while I didn't mind not having a boss, it was really boring having to grind everything in a SUMMER quest. I'm fine with delays happening (I've played TDS since 2019, I would know) but if somethings delayed only to come out as a buggy mess, is it really worth the wait? I'm happy that the game is expanding but there needs to be less hype for these "smaller" updates, because PR never truly hyped an update and remained silent on his process.
Also the whole GoSinister situation really threw me off on interacting within the community as it showcased that some individuals are way too immature to handle the r2da community

I don't hold any ill will towards R2D or its current team, I just don't have that high of hopes for the future of a game that's been as rocky as this, y'know?
I truly want to see this game succeed. I'm sure with time things will improve, but right now stuff's just REALLY rough.

I respect what you say, but the game is only in the alpha phase, so we can give it a little more time. Yes, they delayed a lot, but I believe they will fix it for the Christmas event.
I completly agree with some of your points. Events should not be a priorty especially if the game is in a really unstable place. I feel like they should really focus on the core gameplay rather than rushing an event. when they saw that the halloween event wont have a boss they should've just scrapped it all thogether. But I mean delaying an update full of good maps, bug fixed etc just for 3 event exclusives? Yeah, that my cuppa tea!
Anyways, i find it werid how 2(now 3) expierinced developers cannot pull out 1 update, while pr could have all his updates on time(not always) basically bug free, and he was doing it solo FOR YEARS.
I think they really should plan out the game's development better. because if the game's development is THIS unplanned, idk if this game will last that long. (people will prob quit).

Yeah I agree, core mechanics should prioritize over events, as well as algorithms to build events, maps, and weapons. That's how PR did it: he had a system which he would go through for development of each aspect of the game!
That's what these guys are lacking, they need to spend some time and get a real nice one set in stone.

I recently just made a video about the game as well, and I can't agree more with what was said in this video. I played both the very first version of R2D and R2DA, and never saw updates get this many delays ever. Sure there were a few delays here and there in R2DA, but it was very few. There shouldn't be a deadline in the first place if you know 100% that you wont be finished with the content by then, and the staff team shouldn't be using any of the exclusive items in public games before they're released whatsoever. I really want to see the game do good and do even better than the original. But if it keeps up like this, then the community's hopes for the game will just keep dwindling. Not to mention the terrible balancing to the actual game itself. Whether it be removing gamemodes from maps to give zombies a chance and adding brute spawn caps to "balance" both survivors and zombies, they should do polls with the community to see what they would want. That's what I would do if I was the director. I did see one of the developers say that "they wont do polls for a community that wants the void map back" which is just complete bs to me.
yea im really worried about the devs here since they havent added much considering most of the stuff they added were already in r2da
I also feel like this has to do with the fact that they often announce the updates like it's actually going to come but when the actual day comes they then push it back immediately or delay it. They should honestly just be clearer or give more realistic calculations on when major updates actually drop instead of hyping people only to then crush their hopes.

so there was like black Friday sale but around like 4 or 6 days it was still on sale and later all of gamepass went offsale to prevent more p2w players but the damage was already done darn
Events should be the last of our worries, we dont even have RESCUE yet.
Update: The Christmas update for R2D has now been both delayed and split into two parts to cut development time. No other information on what would be included in those parts have been noted. Another thing mentioning is that they spoiled what would be in the Christmas 2023 prizes through a Trello log on what is being planned to be added into R2D. If I remember correctly, those items were the Ice Gun and the Toy Plane. In the community Discord, countless memes have been made over the constant delays over the games updates, such as "Ready 2 Delay" or "I come from the year 2913, ⏰ 🤫 0.04 is ALMOST READY! 😋 just a few more game breaking bugs to fix 🎮 👽 then the update will be OUT! ⛄". The game's core balancing on Survivors and Zombies have also been very questionable. Survivors almost always win, and weapons given to beginners end up being underpowered. Whilst R2D have made attempts to make those weapons slightly more powerful, they're still not good enough. Many bug still exist inside the game, such as being stuck on the shop because of a GUI bug or Elementals being damaged by flamethrowers.
That shall be all that I could say.
Is still not out yet even maybe January tho I don't believe that it will release Mid December In 25th before opening gifts

Very good Video, I havent played the game much often but I notice they pay alot of attention to p2w methods such as skins, guns, double exp, cash etc rather then the game itself. Sure r2da had but they werent this intense. If you havent noticed also. They made "pre-purchased" gamepasses which spoiled the new halloween items and weapons before the Halloween update. Not only that but you could even see the new weapons locked ingame before the item is even released and whats even worse is that the wiki itself even spoils upcoming content
Next thing imma talk about is the balancing. The balancing with zombies and stats is pretty horrible especially the ticker. I am not a huge fan of it and they keep constantly changing the stats of zombies which may or may not result to non beginner friendly game.
Overall I have not been satisfied that much with the game. Sure they added original content but I feel like this isnt r2d at all. The new content they added such as digger bleeding effect and stat changes feel like this is a completely different game and not related to r2da at all with how many balancing changes they are doing

they could have gradually updated the game instead of a huge rush which would put less stress on them and make the updates higher quality

Just remember, PR had the same trouble with releasing updates due real life issues or something(i wasnt here for long time). PR had a lot of troubles and just removed the game entirely. Ailbric probably have the same issue but he maybe take that as excuse so he would close the game just like PR. Honestly though, I wanna agree with your point, Elite, seriously, why there's no debug sessions? Only just events to get the cheesecat? Boring. 100 players event? Why? But what's the matter with it? Devs are just doing nothing except balancing zombies, I bet Christmas update wouldn't even drop in December 'cause devs seems can't take time on it.
Game with too much potential, needs a correct path and idea. (And devs need to T up)
One thing I’ll say is that I like how Ailbric is experimenting with new features and mechanics such as replacing normal zombies with ai.
Also something to know for most people is that AILBRIC is not Placerebuilder. They are 2 different people with different ideas. You can see Ailbric making controversial changes that a lot of players may disagree with. (Ai replacing normals or trying to balance both sides)
Would placerebuilder ever think of this? Not a chance.
Also we can be heard by devs which is nice
Overall hopefully this game gets good and big within 1-3 years or at least b4 ailbric leaves. Would be a shame to let wasted potential die.

Hey elite! Awesome opinion, but i think that we just need to wait until the staff team just gets the game to the point somewhere near the r2da gameplay of 2019 so they can work on proper updates on time. After all, they are recreating 1 to 1 of a game that was developed for 7 years
Half the assets are already made but overall yeah, I agree. Should've made that point as well
as a roblox developer, making a 1 to 1 game from a game thats 7 years old is not an excuse
the game is basically a small dev team getting very high off their success and so their ego just skyrockets

I was the 3rd in command of the EES (a pretty big clan on R2D) and at the start, things were going well, we had activity, we had alliances but after a bit, the game got stale leading to extreme inactivity. We tried to make our staff more active by giving them quota, we tried asking the community for stuff, we made polls but nothing worked. We had about 2-3 attendees per event on R2D events and 3+ attendees on non R2D events because the group got so inactive we tried making changes and we still shut down. There was nothing we could've done about it and most of this was due to R2D sucking. Before we became an official clan we thought it'd be fun n stuff we thought we could've done something and nothing worked due to R2D SUCKING ASS and none of the og members liking it.
And now.. the game is on a complete hiatus until further notice. I really hope it doesn't get dropped, even if content is slow, R2DA was my favourite game, and when it left, I had a hole in my heart only R2D can fill.

I agree 100%. When the game got announced i had a lot of respect for these devs but now? Basically nothing.
Something to add is that i would have commented about how the main game is more important than events but you have already talked in comments about this, so insted ill just say that campagins were planned for halloween update, then just Kingstreet, and now nothing. Just goes to show how their focus on event related stuff has destroyed the rest of the game.
I know GoSinister already talked about this but the game really just seems like a glorified cash grab due to the abundancy of both non event and EARLY EVENT gamepasses, and i wouldn't be suprised if the 'gift hunt' is going to be a slightly better premium payout simulator than what was the infamous xmas event of Reason 4 Death. So for anyone reading DO NOT BUY THE GAMEPASSES.

Regarding your video, it's mostly some developers not understanding that updates and nerfs/buffs don't have to be pushed out every time, and they dont realize that it hurts the integrity of the game which is the playerbase. The playerbase is not theirs, it's r2da's, specifically placerebuilder's which knew how to manage the game so that pushing out updates wouldnt damage the everyday's player experience or not as much as ready 2 die has. They also don't realize that, creating this remake puts them in the situation to continue Reason 2 Die, however most of them aren't capable of that. Not to be rude, but Vaelori ever since she applied to the producer position, has some really big flaws. She is not serious or mature at all, she comes from a totally different playerbase or genre of games which is another reason that she is not fit for that position as she wouldn't know what ideas or changes the game needs and the playerbase would accept, and in some cases she can be biased, hence why this game is going downhill unless they hire older people that actually worked or contributed to R2DA in the past, or that are atleast mature and listen to the community

If i was a producer at studio lucid i would just cancel the Halloween event and spend more time preparing the christmas event
The game in of itself is good. Grinding and getting money is a little easier, which I think is a slight step for this game as In my opinion. Then again, campaign isn’t a thing in the game yet. Speaking of campaign, they should work to adding those too. Campaign also made the game feel steady and have an edge in replay ability, and it feels rewarding to win them too.
However, the game has balance issues, Game issues like Elementals receiving damage by Flamethrowers, a few underpowered weapons. And overall, a slight lack in modes.
And of course, another problem, the Dev scheduling… almost everything just isn’t set good, and whenever an expectation is out, its just delayed. These guys are struggling, almost like how PR had. Its a little disappointing to even go to that conclusion. But I hope these guys at least find criticism from long time fans and people right now so that they can have a step in the right direction.

This video boils down to: if i was developer event would be out on time while little to no constructive criticism... The reason the aquatic event was delayed so much because they were REBUILDING the entire main game while also attempting to make an event on release for lack of content coming in 0.0.1, A halloween event was never going to be possible when the game opened on the 1st of october while also having to spend plenty of time fixing up the game from its first release, The scheduled debug session was a fault on me and mast Due to not organizing it correctly with ailbric and arsa first to have the times ready and creating a deadline they needed to reach without asking what wa currently ready and what would be ready by then. The fact that you prioritize saying events need to be perfect every single time you bring them brings up a problem r2da had in the first place, prioritizing events over everything else the game had to bring people in instead of fixing gameplay, attempting to fix bad gameplay for zombies or even attempting to work on the entirety of the main game being a unbalanced unfun mess. You cannot compare a game after 6 years of constant updates to one that released a month ago and is just starting to get on its feet.

There is NO need for a christmas event. If development is slow because of issues outside of the game, that is perfectly fine. But WASTING the already limited time and effort the devs have on making these stupid events instead of properly polishing the main game to a respectable level is simply moronic.
This might as well be the end of the game, unless the devs learn a thing or two from R2DA's flaws and mistakes regarding focusing too much on events and neglecting the game.

the lucis discord does have less bs rules than r2da, but holy mother of all things skinny and fat there is not one peaceful day compared to r2da, its all fighting over an opinion, feedback being cast aside by illiterate schmoes who think the devs are perfect (scott PLEASE), drama, DRAMA, DRAMAAAAA, and the wiki is so much worse because most of the pages are incomplete or are poorly written, and the aac honeybadger page had the manufacturer thingy vandalized by a scott hater that is not getting anywhere with his bs, and the forums are simply just negative and never seem to go praise something even once
