    Maybe one hour was not enough to learn how to fly... or my bumblebee is just too fat to fly :P However, it was a lot of fun as always - and super confusing on some parts :) is your brain also turning after listening/ playing this? Tell me in the comments!:P

    One thing I have found is that I practice is piece for a while (1 to 2 hours) and I feel like I made very little progress and that I can't seem to get things right no matter how hard I try. But then if I take a long break and come back (usually the next day), I see the improvement immediately. Seems like the brain needs time to incorporate the practice.

    • @coltonpiano7969

      Same thing as lifting weights. If you lift weights for an hour your muscles get tired and you stop being able to lift as much. But then when you go back after resting your muscles have gotten stronger.
      Your brain works on a lot of the same principals

    • @SiMeGamer
      @SiMeGamer 2 роки тому +2

      @@coltonpiano7969 I think comparing it to building muscle is very incorrect since in one instance it's just the way the body fixes itself (fixing torn tissue on the muscle fiber) and in the other instance your neural pathways settle - the opposite of growing. When you are training, your neurons fire far more intensely which can lead to a far less refined neural pattern. When you take a break (and especially good night's sleep), the intensity settles a little which makes it more consistent and require less energy to perform, which makes intensity much more accurate on average and allows for the refinement of the algorithm in your brain.
      In one you grow, and in the other you dial it down. There is a similarity in the form of taking a break in between which increases productivity (and in one case is essential) but the thing the happens during the break is completely different.

    • @coltonpiano7969
      @coltonpiano7969 2 роки тому +6

      @@SiMeGamer ya totally, I was just trying to pull something more abstract like neural pathways settling into a realm more people are familiar with in order to back up what they were saying.
      You can also over fire one set of neurons. Think saying a word over and over until it doesn't sound like a word anymore. If you repeat one section of music over and over too many times something similar can happen

    • @scottwicken4999
      @scottwicken4999 Рік тому +3

      I feel like the longer you do something the more the brain starts trying to take over the muscle. When you give some time to reset the muscle takes over.

    • @dmsalomon
      @dmsalomon Рік тому

      @@scottwicken4999 exactly. Playing music is so complicated, considering all the intricate and delicate motions required. Not to mention balancing all the various musical variables (dynamics, tempo, tambour, etc...). It's impossible to actively maintain all these factors, the only solution is to have the subconscious muscle memory simply execute the correct motions.

      @Gísiu Wulf You want something impossible, ask her to play as a challenge "Liszt - Études d'execution transcendante d'après Paganini no. 4 (1838)" at *NORMAL SPEED*
      And speaking of the obvious here: the objective of this video is not to learn the entire piece, but to start the music from scratch, and see how far she will go...
      I'm still thinking this comment you posted is a joke...
      But taking the context of practicing completely, yes, practicing in 1 hour and 11 minutes one of the most difficult pieces completely, and with a good result is simply impossible. (mostly Scarbo as the song is 8-9 minutes long).

      Schön, daß jemand auf deutsch schriebt, wo ihre erste Sprache offensichtlich deutsch ist. So oft wie ihr das Wort Sch..e herausgerutscht ist.

      @@dj1rst sie macht ja auch kein Geheimnis draus :) aber ist ja verständlich dass sie Videos auf Englisch macht, lockt einfach ein viel größeres Publikum an

    I’m in awe! My suggestion: Mozart Fantasia in D, or Beethoven Rage Over a Lost Penny!

    This is in my my grade 5 book, there is a utilization of 5 scale exercises for the patterns to incorporate in bars you found difficult.

    how the hell is it possible to be that good and learn so fast. Just a question do you finish learning all those songs of this challenge at the end?

      She is a trained pianist, it it much easier for those who have played a while to site read a piece of music and learn it in a short time. Their fingers and hands can move better in synch than someone new or learning. I could probably practice this piece for a year and not come close to what she had after the 10 minute run.

      The honest answer is as simple as talent and practice. Specific training helps but you have to have those ingredients and the physical ability to play.

      High pattern-recognition skills, from lots of experience (and maybe talent). The brain quickly breaks down the unfamiliar into more familiar components after years of experience.
      Some session players - who play several new pieces every work week - develop surprising interpretive abilities on the first read-through.
      The brain is mysterious.

    I love how much fun you were having with this lmao. I turned my ABRSM grade 3 exam in today, hoping I did well! Also been realizing how important fingering is. Giggity. No but for real, especially practicing with the same fingers for me every single time. I think a lot of mistakes stem from messing up the fingering, especially at these lower difficulty pieces.
