Every time I see Terry at the end of the run, it tears me apart. I was 11 when the Marathon of Hope took place and I remember watching Knowlton Nash tell us each night where Terry was. He was tougher than any athlete that ever lived and the most selfless person this country has ever seen. He makes me proud to be a Canadian. I always believed him when he said he would finish if he could because you know if he could, he would have. RIP Terry

I recall watching this in kindergarten not knowing who he was. Every year my schools had arranged Terry Fox Runs to commemorate his dream of overcoming adversity and prevailing over the disease that plagued humans for centuries. His passion and selflessness is truly inspiring. Now I am a Simon Fraser University student and seeing symbols of him all over the campus and re-watching this documentary fully reminded me how hope is such a potent aspect within people. May his marathon continue forever.

@5:11, for some reason I find that shot of Darrell walking alone down the empty hallway really heart breaking. You can just sense the sadness and despair he must have felt.

I first heard of Terry Fox on Christmas Eve 2015 because of a 30 for 30 marathon in which Into The Wind was about him. Thank you Steve Nash for that film and thank you Linda Pritchard for posting this to youtube.

VERY inspiring story. Had he been able to get out of Ontario, he would've completely GUNNED IT through Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, and into BC!!
    Awesome story. RIP, Terry Fox..

This is too emotional. Its so sad how he didn't manage to cross Canada, and to make every thing worse, his canser spread to his lungs. This is sooo sad. It really shows the big difrence ONE person could make. :(

I wish I could go back to the 80,s- everything was so much
simpler. Even with the cold war, the world was so much better and less dangerous
than now. I grew up during the 80,s and I miss it a lot Everything was better-music, tv ect.

Aside from continuing to raise money for cancer research, another way to honour Terry is for us to push for our $5 bill to have a portrait of him on it🇨🇦

Your identity should be made public for thumbs up and thumbs down, just like making comments, that way I could spend all of my earned free time, hunting them down. Just a thought.

I'm guessing you're Canadian. Terry Fox is Canada's hero of all time. You know that better than people in my own country who would mistake him for Michael J. Fox.
He's not Pierre Trudeau, Conrad Black, Brian Mulroney, Justin Bieber, Jacques Parizeau, Alan Eagleson or any other Canadian that people would dislike. No one would ever dare dislike Terry Fox, ESPECIALLY CANADIANS! You should know that better than most of my own countrymen.

Considering Terry's legacy in Canada and around the world, you make all other Canadians look very bad with that statement. Just a friendly FYI from an American Terry Foxer.

I recall there was an article in the Vancouver Sun talking about how terry was caught driving a good portion of the run, through qubec If I remember correctly. You are right though, terry was known to be a prick. The paper soon retracted the story because people complained. They wanted so badly to believe, like a kid on Christmas eve... I hope he is real, I really wanted the new (fill in the blank here). Good on you bud for speaking the truth. In the end the truth has a leg up on terry.
