''Moon Safari'' is one of my most loved fav Albums ever have never stopped listening to it. Kelly watch the stars is a song I want at my funeral to be played. My name is Kelli. All the songs are beautiful.

These guys are awesome! Their soundtrack to The Virgin Suicides and Pocket Symphony are also musts. Highly recommend Stereolab, Everything But the Girl, Royksopp, Zero 7, Massive Attack, Tricky, Portishead, Bjork and 90's era Gus Gus for similar downtempo, trip hop and electronica artists. For a change of pace, I HIGHLY recommend Underworld, Aphex Twin, Prodigy and (one of my personal favorites) Boards of Canada. Love that you both branch out and explore these great genres! Patreon sub incoming so I can hopefully get some of the above into rotation. Much love from a fellow CO peep and great reaction!

Air - awesome request! Listen to their album '10.000 Hz Legend'. It's not very apt for a reaction due to its mellow and cinematic nature, but great to listen to in private.
The band Stereolab could be just around the corner 🤩
Air did a soundtrack in fact: 'The Virgin Suicides', and also one of their tracks is featured in the film 'Lost in Translation'.

Moon Safari is one of my albums that I think plays best in it's entirety rather than individual tracks out of sequence. I'm guessing that if you had previously heard a track from this album it was probably "All I Need", which has lyrics/vocals. I think the reason this track has so many plays is that it is the first track of the album and people who have had this album suggested to them listened to the first track, and them maybe didn't care for it and didn't bother with the rest of the album. Too bad, because there are tracks on here that are very different.

If you thought metal was a vast genre…it’s got nothing on Electronica. Acid Jazz is but one small sub-genre in a galaxy of sub-genres. Good luck exploring that universe. You might just get sucked in, get lost and never find your way back again.

Always considered Air to be on the gentler , more ambient side of progressive music. And I don't mean that in anyway to its detriment. 10,000 hertz legend IS such a great album as well.
Remember buying that one on the same day as The Mars Volta - Deloused in the comatorium. How about that for two extreme opposites. Lots of love to you NicknLex 😍

If you enjoy downtempo electronic music with a Pink Floyd influence, Air is a great band to get into. This is one of my favorite songs of theirs. Now that I know that you two enjoy this, I'll BMC request some more Air in the future 😊 Air's music has been described as "elevator music from outer space," or "Burt Bacharach on acid." And if you'll remember, I requested a similar song from Zero 7 about a year ago. Air and Zero 7 are very similar. If you like one, you'll probably love the other.

#nicknlexrequest Could you have a listen to one of my favorite bands: Hybrid and especially their 2010 song "Break My Soul". Hybrid are a husband and wife band (Mike and Charlotte Truman) from Wales who are currently working on their 7th album (though Charlotte didn't join the band until just before their fourth album (Mike was teamed up with Chris Healings before that, but Chris left the band in 2015). Their music has been described as symphonic electronica, but that doesn't do their repertoire justice: Hybrid are Hybrid. Their music has been used in movies, video games and TV extensively (Top Gear in the Clarkson/Hammond/May years would use Hybrid tracks quite commonly), but they have been largely unknown to a wider audience. The link to "Break My Soul" is here => ua-cam.com/video/xptIEkCHTZ4/v-deo.html

Hi guys, I heard a single they released called "Sexy Boy" and it was in the singles charts so got a lot of radio play. Unusually because vinyl singles had been fazed out, the track was on a cd single which I bought. It has the radio edit + 2 other remixes & a bonus track called "Jeanne" which features the French singer Francoise Hardy. A big surprise for me as I have loved Francoise Hardy's music since I was a kid, and have some excellent albums by her now...She released a very well know single in the 60's in French & English called "All Over The World" and it's so beautiful. I have both versions. I adore her voice....sorry I kinda left the subject of "Air" ..Yea later I got the albums, but that single "Sexy Boy" is really good. Lol Great track and reaction. The comments below have mentioned other similar artists well worth checking out....especially Zero 7 & Massive Attack. Byeee X

We at MrWondrous Music and/or Humor Corporation hath found this to be a very tasty morsel indeed, and very much look forward to hearing more of this, and more acid jazz impressionism, as one might expect to come from the land of Debussy, Ravel and Faure. Yous guys are wise and kindly relayers of culture, shaking the pan, letting mere rock fall through, leaving gold, which you share, and share again in the listening.

The whole album is a pure masterpiece. Even more amazing that this was the debut ablum of two teachers coming together to make some superb music.
two artists that, to me, fall in the same corner as Air are Gare du Nord (check out "Pablo's blues" from their debut album In search of excellounge) and Nicola Conta (check out "Jet sounds" from also his debut album Bossa per due). The style of Nicola Conte is a mixture between acid jazz, bossa nova and clubjazz wheras the song Pablo's blues is more a mixture of the classic blues styles, but with a very modern twist.

Brilliant tune; it might get on my desert island. If you want a visual it's a building being assembled with groove, from foundations, to walls, to roof - when the electric powered helicopters go up from the top is when I soar too. 53M people might agree.

Elevator music on steroids is a better description for the first Moog Cookbook CD…
The Foo Fighters used sone of their music in a video once…
      Actual elevator music scene…
      👍

Ages ago, I saw them live at a festival. Clouds of weed smoke hanging over the audience 😄
However, Moloko had played just before them and blown everybody away with sheer energy. That was a really, really tough act to follow!
