Hey SVE, Yeah, It was a long day but it was worth it. Started before the sun came up and ended around 2am when the last of our guests left. I was exhausted but it was so worth it. Have a great weekend, Justin
No lies in the closing of the video. it's all about family, friends and making memories. Having awesome BBQ to share while enjoying the company is priceless though. Keep up the good work, love your videos.
Thanks, Sal. As I was sitting around my friends kicking myself over the aesthetics of of a piece of meat, it occurred to me I was being ridiculous. It was a great reminder to myself. Then I got to thinking about how I may not be the only one who could use the reminder. Have a great weekend, my friend...and thanks for the Tsang's!
First, let me say thank you for what you do. I discovered your channel today and have been bingeing a good amount of your videos. The add on portion of this video really struck a chord with me, and your honesty and relatability are a welcome and unique component. Lastly, I enjoyed the drone shots. What bird are you using? Thanks, Deron
Love that you put that part at the end about the smoke ring. The smoke ring is a reaction in the meat...and it really doesn't matter. The flavor and the smiles on faces is what truly matters. Great video!
They sent me their Smoke Wireless Thermometer and a Thermapen Mk4. I will shoot them separately but soon. I still have to edit and upload my parody video of you., coming soon also!!!
Might be one of the best bbq vids I've ever watched (and I've watched for hundreds of hours). Not because of the final product (regardless of the smoke ring it still looks awesome man) but because of the church he spouts at the end. I'm a family man searching for the ever elusive bbq perfection and this chilled me the heck out. I love this and learned so mich from this. Cheers and keep on cookin'! Absolutely loved this video!
Awesome video Justin! Both briskets looked identical to me on video, and heck with a smoke ring, it's over rated anyway unless your doing competition BBQ and being judged by it. It surely doesn't mean a absence of a nice smoke flavor! To me it's all about flavor from the combination of the meat, seasonings and of course the smoke. Very well done video, and your 100% correct about friends and memories. That is truly what is most satisfying about this BBQ addiction we have ;)
I totally agree with you, Rus. That's the important thing. However that offset is going to make you spoiled on smoke rings...if that's even possible. lol. Have a great weekend.
Wow!!! Amazing video!! I got chills just thinking about the moment you were in the midst of four smokers going, in the quiet of the morning, smelling the smoke, sipping on your coffee, and counting your blessings, because you are truly blessed!! Thank you for sharing such a video with us all, that we should be paying for to watch. Loved the true meaning of barbecue.
JosephandElissa Flores it's a great grill. I really like it. I'm working on my one year review which will probably be the next video I publish. Just FYI Thank you for watching.
I just bought a new Master-Touch 22-1/2" Kettle. My 22-1/2" Kettle has finally reached it's limit...3 grills, 2 charcoal grates, a new set of wheels, countless accessories, but the tabs that hold the grill up, and the one-touch vents are disintegrating. I'd say 30 years is a damn good run on an original Kettle with the ash "tray". I would love to have a Summit charcoal, I have 3 Webers and waiting for the Master-Touch to replace my original kettle as I type...but the timing is not right...and I'll be happy to have the new Master-Touch for the ash "pot", thermometer, new grill, etc... Here's to another 30 years, I hope I can live that long! :)
Yes...it's all about sharing with your people! We left ours behind when we moved out to Charlotte...miss them a lot! Cherish these moments, for sure...nothing is forever.
I would love to hang out with you and your friends one day...or two...or three!!! I'm just sayin'....LOL Great job on the comparison video. You hit the nail on the head, it's not about the cook, it's about having friends and family over for a great time!!! I will say though, I'm more of a fan of Prime than Wagyu. I just prefer the beefier flavor of Prime. See, I'm saving you a few bucks when you have me over? I am fine with Prime!!! LOL Love ya brother!! Keep on doing your thing. You are going places my friend!!!
I'm not gonna lie, brother. this weekend reminded me a lot of that weekend at your house… Complete with the sleep deprived and worn out host at the end as well. LOL. But the pool, friends, barbecue… all familiar. I'll skip the wagyu you when you come over. LOL thanks for the heads up. It was very juicy and tender but you're right, the flavors just different. More delicate than beefy. If I wouldn't of found it for $6.99 a pound, I probably wouldn't tried it.
Hey, Troy. I was just commenting on Justin's video of you guys hanging out over at your place with the other guys and galls for the 3 brisket test. Would love to see you guys hanging out at Justin's place too, and maybe a bit more with each of you cooking a little something up to share and get pointers from the others on. Now, I know about "too many cooks in the kitchen" and all that, but as a fan and student of the art myself, it's always great to see new things and tips and tricks from you guys. Cheers. Mick
Hey Troy, I have been watching BBM closely over the past couple months and all you guys are "Living the Dream" man. Perhaps that's why I enjoy watching so much, its all about getting together and sharing with others. I may not be Pool side but I am thankful for you all to be sharing. Btw BabyBack Maniac, you were looking for a new handle, BBM it is!!! Cheers to Troy and BBM, I look forward to your upcoming videos. Craig
Wow, Justin, hats off to you! 4 smokers, 3 different meat's! You're correct, we are always our toughest critic's. And I'm sure everyone left stuffed, and sharing stories of the great BBQ they attended! Cheers!
Thanks WASN55, They really did, actually. We had a great time and some folks stayed over till around 2am. It was definitely a success. Fun memories. Thanks for the kind words, Justin
My sister is trying to convince me to purchase a Kamado because she has one...I would like your input... if you could only pick one would you get a Kamado or Weber Summit? TIA
I get that question alot. This video answers the question better than I can in this space. The customer service issue I had has been resolved. ua-cam.com/video/glt8Jn2MKgU/v-deo.html
I am very very new to your channel. Infact I have never even subscribed to a UA-cam channel until I did yours last week. I have been watching your old videos for enjoyment. This one did not disappoint. I found it very informative. However just when i thought it was all over, I found that you saved the best for the last 90 seconds. Infact of all of the videos of yours that I have watched and all the information I have gleaned, this was the best 90 seconds you have recorded in my opinion. Thanks for reminding me why I BBQ.
Amazing video, I love the ending and I have been saying the same thing for years. BBQ is about the family and friends you're BBQing for, who cares if there isn't a pronounced smoke ring. Good good and good people, a recipe for success in my book.
Nice post cook addition at the end. I am my own worst critic and it is easy to forget that it is about good friends and fellowship. Not every cook is a competition. Enjoy your videos!
Wow!…… Wagyu Packers!?!? Can I be Your Friend? :-) Awesome Vid Bro! The time and forethought that went into it was amazing! For You to go through all that work to entertain… now that was special….And I'm sure your friends appreciated it. I bet it was like eating Butter!…… You are very fortunate. \m/
Thanks HMB, It was a great weekend. My friends are still talking about it. They loved the ending and it's kinda fun to have the video to look back on. The Wagyu was more expensive than normal but since I caught it on sale, didn't have to throw any fat away, didn't spend any time prepping, AND was already in for hosting the party (so I was sorta double dipping on the use), it wasn't too bad. I don't think I'd spring for it again for just dinner...especially not at normal prices. But it was fun to try. Have a great weekend, brother. What's cooking this on the Weber silver mountain (patent pending. lol.)?
You know, I am super happy you made this video.. not for the comparison, but for the last 2min of the video. Honestly, I find myself obsessing SO much not just about BBQ but so many things, I want everyone to enjoy time together, but I put MY needs 2nd/3rd/ or last... I need to enjoy the time with friends and family. For that I thank you for this message.
wtglb thank you. That's really kind of you to say. It's actually a lot harder for me than it probably looks since I do not have a background in this. But it's getting easier with each video.
i appreciate the professionalism and thoroughness that approach your reviews with. i am a Camp Chef Woodwind fan, but who couldn't use a Weber Summit Charcoal Grill and Weber Summit Gas Grill to round out your outdoor kitchen.
lol...Thanks, Oren. My friends are amazing. I've very lucky and you are right, not one of them complained. Thank you for the kind words. Jason, james, Justin. lol
This is the first video I watched from BBM. The extra part at the end really impressed me and Ive been a big fan ever since. Its been a year at least and I had to watch it again. You have good karma Justin. Keep doing what you do please. Thanks.
Your videos are amazing. It’s obvious you put a tremendous amount of time into them. I smoked a chuck roast today and took pictures along the way. However, I didn’t even feel like posting pictures and typing a description in one of the smoker groups I’m in, much less making a video. I hope everyone appreciates your efforts. I know I do.
I must say, T-Roy was totally right, you have an amazing channel !! I going to start watching from now on. I like how you both explain things in detail and do comparison cooks on different cookers. Makes it more fun and help's people to decide for themselves on what to get. Great job BBM you have a new fan and thanks T-Roy for the suggestion ! Smoke on friends, smoke on !
Thanks, Deb. That's what it's all about, right? I meant to give you a heads up that I was using your charcoal but got busy and forgot. It means a lot to me that I didn't have to. Appreciate you watching. Justin
Wow!!! The passion I have for cooking is because of family and friends. To bring everyone together. That's what this is really all about. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks so much for the end of the video and what you said. I just moved to a new state for a new job, and while I am in this hotel for over a month now trying to find a home to live at, I just hope to have neighbors and friends like that. Thanks for the wonderful videos.
Hey Khalil.B. Saket, You are absolutely right, man. It did taste very good so it's not like it was "Bad." We had a great time too. Thanks for watching, Justin
Great Video! Totally relate-able, being that same guy that has multiple cookers in the backyard that sweats things like a good smoke ring while everyone comes to our house, hangs out in the pool and throws sauce on whatever is in front of them.
BBM, this video is so good. This is the first video that I've seen on your channel and your enjoyment of smoking / grilling comes across so well. Family & friends is where its at! Today has been a good day and now after watching this video, even better! Thank you, sir!!
I watch this video a few times a year just for what you say at the end. I stress out about smoke rings and stuff like that but the big picture is bringing friends together
Thanks for the great video. I especially appreciate the reminder of why we do this and what it is to have our friends over to enjoy some great food and awesome companionship.
Thanks Cory. I definitely needed that reminder myself. I'm glad I'm not the only one. Seems like that resonated with about 75% of the people who commented. Thanks for watching, man. Justin
You came on my feed as I was looking for a Weber spirit, I watched your video with interest waiting for that glorious smoke ring to show up and like you I was pretty disappointed about it but then what you said in the end was so true and honest, I'm sold and I hit the like/subscribe button. You're honesty shines
I've cooked on the standard sized Joe for two years now and love it! I've mainly done ribs and pork butts which both came out with very good smoke rings however, I did cook a brisket on there once and it had less of a smoke ring but was still very noticeable. One thing I noticed is that I do use more wood chunks with my cooks and especially on the brisket which I used hickory only. I definitely agree with you cooking Q is about getting family and friends together for a day of fun and good food! Keep up the great work I love watching and learning from your videos and T-Roy's both are very informative!
Thank you! I appreciate the tip, brother. I also appreciate you watching. I'm a big fan to T-roy myself so to be mentioned along side him in a sentence means a lot to me. Have a great weekend. Justin
Have to admit I’m really enjoying this channel. I’m evaluating these products for a step-up to more pro-sumer bulk cooking for family and entertaining. I currently have a Charbroil electric smoker (90’s vintage) and classic 22” Weber kettle grill (80’s) that I’ve been successful with but think I’d really enjoy one of these larger all-in-one grills. The Weber Summit just might be in my future. Thnx...
Absolutely love the last part of your video here. I really enjoy your videos because they’re more fun than other grilling videos out there. But that last part was spot on, I love smoking and grilling to have friends over and having fun and it’s true that they don’t care one bit about a smoke ring and I’m probably the only guy who notices. Anyways, keep making videos I really enjoy them, they make me want to be in that backyard cooking with you.
Sometimes it can be really easy to take everything too seriously and miss the bigger picture. Do the same thing with UA-cam videos. If I make a mistake, Every time I look at the video it bothers me but often nobody ever notices, and believe me people are not shy about telling me everything I do wrong on UA-cam. LOL Thanks for watching.
Thank you for that great Video! It's not just the food, or the process of making it, but there is so much positivity and humour to enjoy. All of that well executed filming and cutting, perfect cooking and really interesting tips aside, most of all, it really is fun to watch. You nailed it! Keep up your great work!
Nicely done Justin! I love you're last statements I always get nervous when I'm cooking for a get together for Family or co workers. But its truly more about the family and friends than it is about the food. The food is like the invite or the reason to get together but the memories and relationships made is truly whats important and lasts a lifetime.
It's so true, Tom. I didn't realize how universal that message would be until I uploaded this. I'm glad it hit home for other people too. Thanks for watching, brother. Have a great weekend. Enjoy swimming in the pool in Minnesota. lol. just kidding.
Hey Daniel, I think you'll like the Pecan if you have the right expectations. Don't expect it to "WOW you" or do something incredibly creative. That's not what it is. It's more of a tasty, very pleasant rub that works in a lot of different applications. I've never tried their brisket rub. Let me know what you think if you have time to report back. Justin
Best video to date man. Here's my feedback for what it's worth: - Your videos are great quality, fun to watch and informative - You're very good in your role as narrator, fun to watch, good sense of humour, I never get bored during your vids :) - The Big Joe and Summit are sexy, but I'm still not convinced to retire the Performer for a cooker 4 times the price - Your final comments were right on the nuts man, don't sweat it, enjoy the food and company Cheers from Ontario......waaaaay north to TX
Thanks Smokey, Yeah, the price is the sticking point. They are fun to use but it's a luxury and not a necessity. I cut my teeth on the Performer and nobody will ever convince me it's not one of the best grills you can get your hands on for the money...though I like the 26 even more. Thanks for your kind words...means alot to me. Justin
Thanks LumberjackPa, Everybody was happy. I was having a mini pity party...that's what's make it ridiculous. That's when I thought to myself "OK, dude. snap out of it. You are missing the point." Made all the difference. Thanks for watching. Justin
Thanks Thomas, I don't have any plans of quitting any time soon. I really appreciate you watching and taking the time to leave a comment. It makes it all worth it. :-) Have a great weekend, Justin
If a smoke ring and smoke taste is what you want, go with a stick burner or a pellet smoker, all the smoke in the world and a pretty ring. I just purchased a Kamado Joe, but only for hot and fast cooking, my RECTEC smoker is the killer for big meat, and you can go sleep and not have to watch it every hour. Thanks for your video Bro, very nice and I love your place in TX.
People love the bbq guy! - yes 90% of people don't care about the smokering. Agree that Its the smell, the taste and sharing with people you care about - Great Video BBM!!!
Thanks Florian, I agree. I just glad most people seemed to hang around long enough to see it. It was a long video. lol. Thanks for watching and have a great rest of the weekend. Justin
Awesome unsuspected ending ! Like many, I'm here trying to decide what to buy. I'm stressing out too much over a buying decision, as I often do, and your note at the end was a much-needed bit of perspective. I haven't made up my mind yet, but I'm getting close, and more relaxed about it overall. Your videos are both informative and entertaining. Fantastic job!
Great video! Nothing better than good friends and good food to make your weekend awesome! Makes me think back to all the good times I've had sharing BBQ with friends. Keep the great videos coming!
Excellent work on this video! I really enjoyed the closing of BBQ being about bringing friends and family together. I love my WSCGC and I am planning to do a Wagyu Brisket in the near future!
Awesome, Chris. Let me know how it goes. The flavor was a little more subdued than I'm used to but I liked it. On the flip, side it was extremely tender and moist. I don't think it'd buy it every time but every once in a while, I think it's worth it. These were on sale for 6.99 per pound which is expensive for brisket but cheap for Wagyu so I gave it a shot and I"m glad I did. How do you like your WSCGC? Justin
Thanks doc, I put a lot of time into the production and (once again) I'm my harshest critic some comments like this mean a lot to me. Have a great weekend. Justin.
Feels like a season finale!!! Well done!! Don't worry about that smoke ring. I just picked up a new grill and unfortunately nearly ruined a tri-tip. chalk it up to learning. Keep up the great work!
Hi Rory, No finale. In fact, I'm just getting warmed up. That said, it will probably be hard to top this one. I've never had a video get so many views so quickly. (almost 5k in the first 24 hours.) Pretty crazy. Congrats on the new cooker. What kind of grill did you get? Justin
Thanks Rory. I've replaced the thermometer in one before. It's not rocket surgery...It helps if you tie the new one to the old one and pull it through instead of trying to snake it through on it's own. ' Justin
Thanks Matthew. That kind of compliment means a lot to me. I'm not sure people realize it (not that they are supposed to) but when someone does notice it's means alot. Have a great rest of the weekend, Justin
second vid i watched. dude if you dont end up with massive subscribers eventually then somethings wrong with this world. your editing is great your persona is awesome and actually makes me envious because im a stressful bbqer and jusy in general your way of being so cool and collective is amazing. your outro was touching and nearly a little tear jerkin. lol. just hi the subscribe button.
Thanks Joshua, I really appreciate it. I work really hard to try to make these informative AND entertaining and sometimes it's a hard line to walk so comments like this mean a lot to me. In fairness, I think just about everybody gets nervous when we cook for folks. This ending was as much a conversation with myself as you guys. I look back on it now and I realize how even though the brisket didn't turn out looking like I wanted it to, it was still darn good and the best brisket anybody at that party had eaten that day. lol.
It is a unmistakable flavor but unfortunately we don't care for it on closed pit situations....at least not for this long. With the open style pits where the fire can breath, it's great.
Great video - I have just started smoking, bought the Oaklahoma Joe but a bit to much much smoke around the back yard for the wife who is vegetarian and need to work hard to keep the temp constant, the end of this video is awesome as we have had a few parties and I am barely 5 cooks in but each party everyone loves the cook. Couldn't do it without your videos and other great folks on your tube.. Think I will get the Kamado Big Joe - want to do pizza also for my kids on it ...
Thanks, Matt. I appreciate the kind words about the food. I really like that Pecan rub...and like I said, it's a safe choice for groups of people. Have a great weekend, Justin
Hey Justin, like I said once before, your video presentation is just as entertaining and impressive as the content. When I look at your vids and others like Russ Jones at Smoky Ribs BBQ, I am shameful with my phone, shaky hand, unedited, and no music. However, great cookoff and I thoroughly enjoyed it as always. Keep'em Com'in.
Thanks Phil, Rus is one of my favorites as well. I love how he goes out of his way to make each video something special. He's also been very supportive of me since the first few videos. With that said, there is no shame in how you choose to do your videos. You are providing content for people for free. You are sharing a part of your life with them. You don't owe anybody anything. I like to do more production work because it makes me happy, but there are things I don't do because it would take the fun out of it. Its all about finding the balance that works for you. Thank you for watching and for the kind words. Justin
Great video! It looks like you have a great crew! I went with the Kamado Joe for my first charcoal smoker/grill because I live near Buffalo NY, where winter is a bit more than a suggestion of frost! I will certainly be using your great tips on my first brisket this weekend!
Awww, you're so cute. You seriously don't have to justify the fact that you're disappointed over the missing smoke ring. It's totally human, acceptable and actually a sign of true passion and professionality in what you're doing with your cookers. It's ok to be unhappy about it, and it's not needed to point out that it's more important to have a family and good friends and all that jazz. We know you are a great hubby, neighbour and friend, no doubt about it, but it's your smoke rings (and all your other barbequeliciousness) we come to your channel for. Peace out and loves from a Norwegian fan. Oh, and I ordered a SUmmit C yesterday based on yoru input so now you know who I am behind my UA-cam handle. *winks*
You are quite welcome. I know people watch these because they are thinking about buying one so I try to provide as much info as possible. Thanks for watching, Justin
Summit > KJ Just did my first brisket cook on summit and was able to get more smoke than my KJ has previously produced and the work flow and ease of use makes you feel like you’re not working hard enough after using a ceramic for 6 years. Weber did their homework for sure.
Great video..!!! I've watched lots of BBQ videos for ideas and inspiration. Typically I just save to a playlist to watch again later. But the ending of this video had me subscribing to your channel..!! Well done, always appreciate the honesty and you hit the nail on the head.. Family! :)
Invite me over next time!! haha.. Love how epic the music is in this cook, it makes me excited for you to start cooking! .. This must have been a challenge to not only cook, but to film! wow! You are a modern day hero!
lol. Thanks man. It's a lot of work but you seem to put a lot into your videos as well so I know you get it. Appreciate the kind comment, brother. Justin
Amen Brother! I know I get caught up with micro-critiques of things that could have been better in a cook which completely stops me from enjoying the raving my guests are making. Gotta take time to step back and remember what BBQ is really about.
That looks like it was a marathon. But your video ending is priceless because you are 100% RIGHT! Great Work!
Hey SVE,
Yeah, It was a long day but it was worth it. Started before the sun came up and ended around 2am when the last of our guests left. I was exhausted but it was so worth it.
Have a great weekend,
Justin
No lies in the closing of the video. it's all about family, friends and making memories. Having awesome BBQ to share while enjoying the company is priceless though. Keep up the good work, love your videos.
Thank you JrSVT. I really appreciate it.
plus 1!!!
"BBQ is about people" Best thing you have said Justin. We sometimes lose sight of the fact that people eat those ribs and brisket.Rock On Maniac!

Thanks,
Deron
Best finish to any BBQ video on UA-cam. You nailed it. People come first, BBQ is the icing.
Love that you put that part at the end about the smoke ring. The smoke ring is a reaction in the meat...and it really doesn't matter. The flavor and the smiles on faces is what truly matters. Great video!
So true, man. But so easy to forget. Thanks for watching!
Justin
I am going to keep this short. This video made me happy. From here to there...THANKS JUSTIN!!
Thanks Phil,
Have a great weekend, my friend. Any new videos planned for this weekend?
Justin
Thermaworks sent me two of their products over here. i will do a review on them soon!!
Sweet! Which one's did you get?
They sent me their Smoke Wireless Thermometer and a Thermapen Mk4. I will shoot them separately but soon. I still have to edit and upload my parody video of you., coming soon also!!!
What?!?! Oh, this will be good! lol.
nothing better than all your friends looking at each other and tying to come up with compliments on your food. great food lifts everyone's spirits.
I don't even care about the outcome...this video just made me smile...a lot. Subscribed. ♥
Thank you! I'm really glad you liked it!
Justin
Might be one of the best bbq vids I've ever watched (and I've watched for hundreds of hours). Not because of the final product (regardless of the smoke ring it still looks awesome man) but because of the church he spouts at the end. I'm a family man searching for the ever elusive bbq perfection and this chilled me the heck out. I love this and learned so mich from this. Cheers and keep on cookin'! Absolutely loved this video!
Thanks Noah. I was pretty much preaching to myself here but I'm glad it resonated with other people.
Justin
Awesome video Justin! Both briskets looked identical to me on video, and heck with a smoke ring, it's over rated anyway unless your doing competition BBQ and being judged by it. It surely doesn't mean a absence of a nice smoke flavor! To me it's all about flavor from the combination of the meat, seasonings and of course the smoke. Thanks Rick,
It was a great morning. So relaxing. I wanted to remember it. That's why I mentioned it in the video.
Have a great weekend.
Justin
I really want that Weber Summit!
JosephandElissa Flores it's a great grill. I really like it. I'm working on my one year review which will probably be the next video I publish. Just FYI
Thank you for watching.
Baby Back Maniac still waiting for the one year review!
I just bought a new Master-Touch 22-1/2" Kettle. They really did, actually. We had a great time and some folks stayed over till around 2am. It was definitely a success. Fun memories.
Thanks for the kind words,
Justin
Two great charcoal grills & two delicious looking briskets :)
Thanks, man!
Justin
BRILLIANT video, and you are absolutely right... it's about the people you bring together. Preach it, brother!
Totally. Sometimes I need a reminder so I figured other people might as well. lol.
Thanks for watching, Adam.
Justin
Thanks, Brian. I totally agree. Have a great rest of the weekend.
Nice post cook addition at the end. I am my own worst critic and it is easy to forget that it is about good friends and fellowship. Not every cook is a competition. Enjoy your videos!
Wow!…… Wagyu Packers!?!? Can I be Your Friend? :-)
Awesome Vid Bro! The time and forethought that went into it was amazing! For You to go through all that work to entertain…
now that was special….And I'm sure your friends appreciated it.
I bet it was like eating Butter!…… You are very fortunate. \m/
Thanks HMB,
It was a great weekend.
Thanks Steve,
You are welcome. It was as much for me as anyone else.
Justin
You are so comfortable in front of the camera and speak easily. I can picture you with your own show.
I was thinking the same thing, so informative, fun and easy to watch, amazing videos, please open a restaurant or school!
wtglb thank you. That's really kind of you to say. It's actually a lot harder for me than it probably looks since I do not have a background in this. But it's getting easier with each video.
Joshua Turner thank you, Joshua. You guys are too nice.
Baby Back Maniac well then you are a natural! Keep the videos coming, they are great!
I agree, you have a soft voice and are very comfortable doing what you do, very professional
i appreciate the professionalism and thoroughness that approach your reviews with. i am a Camp Chef Woodwind fan, but who couldn't use a Weber Summit Charcoal Grill and Weber Summit Gas Grill to round out your outdoor kitchen.
lol. Exactly right!
James, Jason, er Justin; what a great video. You have beautiful friends. I bet they ate well with no worry. You done guuud son! Thumbs up X 3.
lol...Thanks, Oren. My friends are amazing. I've very lucky and you are right, not one of them complained. Thank you for the kind words.
Jason, james, Justin. lol
Easily one of the best messages ever about what is really important.
Thanks, Jim. I appreciate it.
Justin
This is the first video I watched from BBM. The extra part at the end really impressed me and Ive been a big fan ever since. Its been a year at least and I had to watch it again. You have good karma Justin. Keep doing what you do please. Thanks.
Thanks Tim. I appreciate the kind words!
Thanks Brian,
I really appreciate that, man. Glad to have you on board.
Justin
Loving all three grills out there ! Family, food and fun !
Thanks, Deb. That's what it's all about, right?
I meant to give you a heads up that I was using your charcoal but got busy and forgot. It means a lot to me that I didn't have to. Appreciate you watching.
Justin
We always enjoy your shows :)
That's was an absolutely incredible video ... Start to finish! Great honest comparison and tips! Love watching, thanks!
Thanks Stephen! I'm really glad you enjoyed it!
Justin
And I gotta say, your comments at the end of the video were spot on brother!!!!
Yeah, I have to keep that in mind or I'll drive myself nuts. That seem to really resonate with others though so I'm glad I said it.
Justin
Proves to me that these are two of the best smoking cooking vessels in existence.
Great video Justin ,all of you guys rock if I can ever figure out my gopro I will have some videos coming soon smoke on !!!
Congratulations, Michael! It's a lot of work but you'll get a kick out of it.
Justin
Tender and juicy trumps a cosmetic only smoke ring any day in my book. Those briskets looked fabulous!
Hi Gary,
Thank you so much. You are absolutely right.
Have a great weekend,
Justin
They look good the smoke ring is ok does not need to looking over board as its only oxidizing effect . The juicy smoky is the important thing
Hey Khalil.B. Saket,
You are absolutely right, man. It did taste very good so it's not like it was "Bad." We had a great time too.
Thanks for watching,
Justin
Great Video! Totally relate-able, being that same guy that has multiple cookers in the backyard that sweats things like a good smoke ring while everyone comes to our house, hangs out in the pool and throws sauce on whatever is in front of them.
haha! Kindred spirits, brother. So funny.
Justin
BBM, this video is so good. This is the first video that I've seen on your channel and your enjoyment of smoking / grilling comes across so well. Family & friends is where its at! Today has been a good day and now after watching this video, even better! Thank you, sir!!
Thanks Dos Turbos,
Really appreciate you taking the time to watch. Thank you for the kind words.
Justin
I watch this video a few times a year just for what you say at the end. I stress out about smoke rings and stuff like that but the big picture is bringing friends together
I need the reminder for me too...more now than ever.
Great video! I don't comment much, but I really did enjoy watching. Your commentary is heartfelt.
Thank you for taking the time to leave this comment. I really appreciate it, Joseph.
Justin
Awesome video!! Your pool/ patio setup is perfect for cooking out and entertaining. Thanks for sharing.
Great video Justin, don't stress about the smoke ring. The brisket looked fantastic and as long as everyone enjoyed it, that's all that matters.
Thanks Tom,
I appreciate it, bud. You are absolutely right. Have a great rest of the week.
Justin
Great video man. The ending was so true and very insightful for us cooks who tend to over analyze our food. This made me smile! Keep up the good work!
Thanks, Anthony, I really appreciate it, bud.
Justin
John Henry is a family friend. Glad to see you enjoy his product so much!
That's super cool. Tell him I said "good work." lol
Justin
will do!
Thank you so much. I really appreciate it.
The dog's face says it all...and the end message was on point.☝🏻Keep up the good work!
Thanks Cleaning Teacher,
I appreciate it!
I just placed a order for the Texas size bottles of John Henry's pecan rub and John Henry's Texas brisket rub. I hope it works out.
Hey Daniel,
I think you'll like the Pecan if you have the right expectations. Don't expect it to "WOW you" or do something incredibly creative. That's not what it is. It's more of a tasty, very pleasant rub that works in a lot of different applications.
I've never tried their brisket rub. Let me know what you think if you have time to report back.
Justin
Baby Back Maniac
It's ok, worst case I read on a forum that it was also great on vanilla ice cream.
Interesting! lol
I really like your personality and how you make anything seem easy to cook by all if they just try!!!
Thanks Dennis,
That's one of my goals so I really appreciate that compliment!
Thank you!
Justin
Best video to date man. Here's my feedback for what it's worth:
- Your videos are great quality, fun to watch and informative
- You're very good in your role as narrator, fun to watch, good sense of humour, I never get bored during your vids :)
- The Big Joe and Summit are sexy, but I'm still not convinced to retire the Performer for a cooker 4 times the price
- Your final comments were right on the nuts man, don't sweat it, enjoy the food and company
Cheers from Ontario......waaaaay north to TX
Thanks Smokey,
Yeah, the price is the sticking point. They are fun to use but it's a luxury and not a necessity. I cut my teeth on the Performer and nobody will ever convince me it's not one of the best grills you can get your hands on for the money...though I like the 26 even more.
Thanks for your kind words...means alot to me.
Justin
This video made me so happy. You've just got a new subscriber from Ireland.
Awesome! Glad to have you aboard. Thank you!
Justin
I think that you did a great job. Everybody looked happy and seemed like they weren't hungry. Great video and thanks for sharing.
Thanks LumberjackPa,
Everybody was happy. I was having a mini pity party...that's what's make it ridiculous. That's when I thought to myself "OK, dude. snap out of it. You are missing the point." Made all the difference.
Thanks for watching.
Justin
great job justin i think though what you said in the end hit me the hardest its what we live for giving people good food and good times.
Thanks man, I really appreciate you watching and I'm glad it helped. How's your channel coming along?
Justin
Dude, this is one of my favorite videos from you. Awesome job, you're right, it's 100% about the friends and family!
Thanks Ldunk,
I appreciate you watching. Have a great weekend!
Justin
Good video. Not only was it informative, it was fun to watch.
Glad it was helpful!
Best BBQ video I've seen in months. Thumbs up Justin! Keep making your own high quality videos 👌
Thanks Thomas,
I don't have any plans of quitting any time soon. I really appreciate you watching and taking the time to leave a comment. It makes it all worth it. :-)
Have a great weekend,
Justin
I have never seen a brisket that juicy what a awesome job wish I had your skill haha keep up the good work
Best thing about the video is the TEXAS TECH cooler at the end on the table! Wreck'em Tech! - Great video
Thanks Danny. I appreciate it
People love the bbq guy! - yes 90% of people don't care about the smokering. Agree that Its the smell, the taste and sharing with people you care about - Great Video BBM!!!
Thanks Jason. I totally agree. I appreciate you watching, buddy.
Justin
the last two minutes capture the essence of BBQ.
Thanks Florian,
I agree. I just glad most people seemed to hang around long enough to see it. It was a long video. lol.
Thanks for watching and have a great rest of the weekend.
Justin
I love your comment at the end.... BBQ brings family and friends together.... awesome video , thanks for the entertainment!
Thanks man! I really appreciate it!
Thanks, Greg. Yeah, it's easy to overthink it. Glad it helped.
All looked great, the last part of vid, your comment, was the best part brother.
Thanks Rooster. Appreciate it.
I've been enjoying watching you and your production work evolve. The shot above the pool is awesome... Keep up the great work Justin! : )
Thanks, Ed. I appreciate it!
Brisket looked killer from both cookers!
I've been cooking brisket a lot this year and I can tell those were yummy!
Thank you pigskin. They did taste great. I can be picky. lol.
Justin
I hate that moment when you realize the smoke ring is anywhere you want! Very good point that wrapped up the video, aces!
Excellent video sir! I have a Kamado Joe II arriving this Friday, can't wait to try it out.
awesome. Congratulations
Great video! Nothing better than good friends and good food to make your weekend awesome! Makes me think back to all the good times I've had sharing BBQ with friends. Keep the great videos coming!
Thanks Brent. I think that's the important stuff too. Appreciate you watching.
Justin
The ending message made this video awesome... Perspective!!!
Thanks, David. Perspective is huge.
Justin
Justin
Great video. Your video and production quality are always really well done. I appreciate that. Also the brisket looked great!
Thanks doc,
I put a lot of time into the production and (once again) I'm my harshest critic some comments like this mean a lot to me. Have a great weekend.
Justin.
Feels like a season finale!!! Well done!!
Don't worry about that smoke ring. I just picked up a new grill and unfortunately nearly ruined a tri-tip. chalk it up to learning.
Keep up the great work!
Hi Rory,
No finale. In fact, I'm just getting warmed up. That said, it will probably be hard to top this one. I've never had a video get so many views so quickly. (almost 5k in the first 24 hours.) Pretty crazy.
Congrats on the new cooker. What kind of grill did you get?
Justin
An older model traeger with what seems to be a slightly defective thermometer.
Kudos on the views. It's a great, feel-good video.
Thanks Rory. I've replaced the thermometer in one before. It's not rocket surgery...It helps if you tie the new one to the old one and pull it through instead of trying to snake it through on it's own. '
Justin
It shows how much time you spend on these cooks/vids. Good job
Thanks Matthew.
That kind of compliment means a lot to me. I'm not sure people realize it (not that they are supposed to) but when someone does notice it's means alot.
Have a great rest of the weekend,
Justin
Justin, again, quality presentation. Your music choices..... awesome! And of course your food looks great! Wish I could have been there to share.
second vid i watched. dude if you dont end up with massive subscribers eventually then somethings wrong with this world. your editing is great your persona is awesome and actually makes me envious because im a stressful bbqer and jusy in general your way of being so cool and collective is amazing. your outro was touching and nearly a little tear jerkin. lol. just hi the subscribe button.
Thanks Joshua,
I really appreciate it. I work really hard to try to make these informative AND entertaining and sometimes it's a hard line to walk so comments like this mean a lot to me. In fairness, I think just about everybody gets nervous when we cook for folks. This ending was as much a conversation with myself as you guys. I look back on it now and I realize how even though the brisket didn't turn out looking like I wanted it to, it was still darn good and the best brisket anybody at that party had eaten that day. lol.
The drip pan do help with the mess but it’s the juices dropping down on open coals that add an unmistakable flavor.
It is a unmistakable flavor but unfortunately we don't care for it on closed pit situations....at least not for this long. With the open style pits where the fire can breath, it's great.
I'm a Weber guy! Thanks for the comparison.
Great looking brisket and nice landscaping.
Thanks Michael,
This yard was a mess when we got here. It's been a ton of work and money but we are really happy with it now.
Justin
Great video - I have just started smoking, bought the Oaklahoma Joe but a bit to much much smoke around the back yard for the wife who is vegetarian and need to work hard to keep the temp constant, the end of this video is awesome as we have had a few parties and I am barely 5 cooks in but each party everyone loves the cook. Couldn't do it without your videos and other great folks on your tube.. Think I will get the Kamado Big Joe - want to do pizza also for my kids on it ...
You'll enjoy that. Definitely less of a smoke situation
Great video Justin! That Pecan rub is some good stuff. Both the briskets and ribs looked excellent to me.
Thanks, Matt. I appreciate the kind words about the food. I really like that Pecan rub...and like I said, it's a safe choice for groups of people.
Have a great weekend,
Justin
Baby Back Maniac you too Justin! Take care-
Hey Justin, like I said once before, your video presentation is just as entertaining and impressive as the content. When I look at your vids and others like Russ Jones at Smoky Ribs BBQ, I am shameful with my phone, shaky hand, unedited, and no music. However, great cookoff and I thoroughly enjoyed it as always. Keep'em Com'in.
Thanks Phil,
Rus is one of my favorites as well.
Loved the conclusion. Says everything about BBQ.
Thank you!
*winks*
Thanks for update on Big Joe. Another great video.
You are quite welcome. I know people watch these because they are thinking about buying one so I try to provide as much info as possible.
Thanks for watching,
Justin
Good work. I especially like the bit at 8 mins in, 4 cookers going and all quiet - bliss :)
Yeah, one of the best parts of the weekend. I put that in here because I wanted to remember it. lol.
Thanks for watching, Dave.
Justin
Summit > KJ
Just did my first brisket cook on summit and was able to get more smoke than my KJ has previously produced and the work flow and ease of use makes you feel like you’re not working hard enough after using a ceramic for 6 years.
Family! :)
Thank you! I really appreciate the kind words.
Justin
Amen brother!! It’s about people not smoke rings. Are we gonna remember the party the people and the kids or the smoke ring. Great point brother.
So true, Jeff. It's so easy to miss the entire point.
Thanks for taking the time to comment. Have a great weekend.
Justin
Great looking briskets bro. I bet you made a lot of guests happy
They were. It was a fun day.
