The animation is good, but the system has big problems. 1. the PU-Foam exposed Formalhedryd, 2. When the panel gets vertical loads which is out of center it will delaminate from the skin. 3. without having integrated 2/4 as structural support it will not meet the structural strength the wall needs to have. To get the fire ratings you still have to apply 15mm sheetrock. I set up these kinds of factory in Germany and it failed after 2 years.
Klaus, I’m interested in building a house with SIPs in a cold and dry climate. I have no experience whatsoever in building houses but With SIPs, it can done with ease. Could you share your experience about the SIP technology since you have set up factory in Germany? What was the failure, obstacles and final thoughts. Thanks
SIPs are without details. The Lintels over doorways and windows are also without details... ouch! Roof gutters drain onto foundation footings... ouch! Poor detailing. Project grade 'C' at best.

SIP wall with 5/8" drywall has a STC of 22. You put two sheets of drywall on both sides of interior wall. You can increase your STC to 64.
Why are the interior walls also insulated SIPs - unless they are somehow cheaper than plain framed panels?????????
From my understanding, it keeps heat or ac from traveling throughout the home, keeping the entire house tighter.
They're structural supports for the 2nd floor.
Because of soundproofing
Materials are cheaper than the labor to construct interior walls.

You can replace the OSB board with a magnesium oxide board, which will be safer.
