Ozark southern parts, 1st , then up the Mississippi & Missouri river basin's river ways . The MOMO monster was in 1972 . I had my sighting in the fall of 1975 . They are ALL over our state ,now . We are in the TOP 10 states in the lower 48 states , i think around NO # 9 or NO # 10 ranking . PS & the other bad part is we have Dog man here , too .

Very interesting story. There's a similar story one of my teachers back in the 60's told about some railroad workers trapped a juvenile Sasquatch that had been hanging around their camp. They put it in a cage and showed it off at some towns in whichever state they were in. I think it eventually died and they buried it. I heard the same story in the 90's but I wish there were more details. Maybe you could be more successful in finding more information about this story and you could post it here on UA-cam. I'll subscribe to your channel for awhile in hopes you can find the story and tell it here. Good luck.

That's the famous 'Jacko' hoax - it actually dates back to the 19th century, but it's pretty much an indictment of the US educational system that it was taught to you in your classroom as if it was historical fact! 🤣🙉

@@DANINSKYWOW Well, it wasn't actually 'taught' in the classroom, it was a story that our teacher related to the class after a news report of a Sasquatch sighting in our area (Enumclaw, WA.). I just edited this to add that I looked the 'Jacko Hoax' up and, you're right, it might have been a story made up by a bunch of bored railroad men. Thanks for your post. NOT LIKELY FACTUAL. The article is not written in the form and vernacular of the time. Boston was one of the largest cities in America. To verify this story would be very easy. Newspapers were collected and stored in books, later those books of newspapers were put on phishfile (sp?) ANY university would be able to locate it and libraries that hold the original publication can be found. Also, this creature was displayed in public according to article. It would be accounted in many other papers of the time and most likely distributed around the country complete with drawings and sketches. It would most certainly have been news around the world because Boston was a major trade location. Remember the Boston tea party? Also photographs would definitely exist. The camera was invented in 1819 and thousands of pictures of that time can be found.

This isn't the only story from the 19th century about something Sasquatch-like being captured. There's poor Jacko too, and I think one or two others.
There's certainly the distinct possibility these are either purely tall tales or a distorted version of something real. But if this is legitimate it's interesting our forefathers were apparently better at capturing them. There were certainly more seasoned woodsmen and hunters among the general populace in that period. Perhaps the Sasquatch weren't as wary either.
My gut says this likely isn't real. But we'll never know. If it really did happen, though, I hope they were let go.

Now its pretty populated and hard for one to go threw undetected. But south of St. Peters has lots of hills and woods still. I believe today if any move south they would go west more because the rivers that flow unless they used the Missouri river or Mississippi river and floated south personally I never heard of this story living there
